This place is awesome, it's far away from the town but that makes it more special. From here you can go easily to the other island and the waterfalls. The owner is really nice, always taking care of the guest and she even gave a bracelet at the end of my staying :) The bungalows are spacious and clean and the wifi works really good

The only things that could improve the place is if they rent bikes because I had to go to another place to get one.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tavendang and also extended out stay to 5 nights. The family is super friendly! Great value for money and good location out of the busy parts of Don Det, but still close enough to walk or cycle there. Just next to the French Bridge, where you can watch the sunset.

The room was great, though it would have been nice to have a mosquito net. Although, there werent so many mosquitos and also other bungalows had mosquito nets. I think, we could have also asked for one, if we thought it was really necessary:)

This place stole my heart. Located on the sunrise side of Dondet, it’s the place where to relax and recharge. The room is clean and spacious, same goes for the bathroom. The terrace of the bungalow offers a lovely view directly on the Mekong river. Wifi is fast and stable, I could work and have online meetings without any issue (40/50 mbps). The family who owns the bungalows also owns the restaurant right in front. They are extremely friendly and willing to help for anything you may need. Laundry service is offered for 15k per kilo. The area is quiet — just few restaurants around. Across the bridge you can rent a bicycle for 15k per day. This area is about 30 minutes baking from the sunset side of the island. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will also definitely come back!

Nice bungallow, comfortable and good value. Great place to chill in the hammock! The bungallow is clean, and the guesthouse restaurant is good. Good place if you want to have peace.

Cold shower -- not a problem for me since it was hôtel enough outside, but might be a problem otherwise.

Hammocks were uncomfortable or broken. The mosquito net was of very poor quality. It was 40 min walk to Don Det centre and 10 minutes to Don Khone centre which was a bit much. Had they rented out bikes it would have been easier to go around

I had the best stay here in an amazing waterfront bungalow. Booked for 3 nights, stayed for 7. Best place ever to unwind and chill. I’ve been to Don Det a few times, but this was the first time this side of this island. Best decision ever. There seems to be far fewer mosquitoes this side. Where I stayed last year there were swarms of them. Great restaurant on site but not much else unless you cross bridge to next island (5min). It’s a 45 minute walk to the main pier, or get a long tail boat taxi which is buttons. Hardly went up there though apart from to withdraw Kip. I could have spent a month at this amazing family run guesthouse. Mama wears the trousers. Would give me a dressing down for drinking beer for breakfast. Fair point most might say. Any problems/queries I had she fixed. Tours, bus tickets and so on. After finishing a tour I was in a shop on the mainland buying supplies, sat my GoPro down and thought nothing of it until 45 minutes later at the guesthouse. Mama was on the phone tracking it down and within the hour someone had taken a boat to the property and hand delivered it to me. That anecdote surmises perfectly why I love Laos. There would have been a completely different ending in the UK.

Nothing. If you want to spend your days lying in a hammock expending as little energy as possible, try this place.

Very clean guesthouse. Rustic and basic, but very comfortable. Friendly staff. Fan provided. No AC but this wasn’t required anyway. Hammocks provided. Mosquito net provided. Bicycles available for rent to tour the islands. Great view from Tavendang restaurant and great place to just relax during the hot day as it’s cooler there. Towel provided. Laundry services available at 10,000kip/kg. Can arrange pick up from this side of the island, back to the mainland. 30 minute walk away from Liphi falls. 30 minute walk away from Khongyai beach where you can rent a boat to see the Irrawaddy dolphins.

No flushing function on toilet - have to pour water, but this was not a big issue. No hot water in shower, but again, this was ok during my stay as it was very hot although mornings are cooler.
