We all had an excellent time in Margate and this property is a real treat. Lots of space, very well appointed, an excellent host, lovely and clean and in an excellent location for all Thanet has to offer. Need I say more!?!? We are extremely keen to return.

Beautiful, spacious and very clean apartment in a quiet Victorian building. Perfect spot for our day trips to nearby beaches - unfortunately Margate main beach was too busy but Joss Bay and Broadstairs Viking Bay were great alternatives just 10/15 minutes drive. Having a good and safe parking (Two spaces per apartment) literally three steps from the main door was a real bonus.

The Wilderness Rooms was perfect for our family seaside holiday. Rob is a welcoming and attentive host. The property had everything we needed and the location was central to shops and the beach. There were some lovely touches such as local recommendations & information, interesting books and games, as well as cosy blankets for chillier days. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return one day!

Very pretty, spacious house, with lots of loving details. Quiet cul-sac with parking in front of the property. A good base to go on day trips. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a holiday on the English coast. Beautiful beaches and good shopping possibilities nearby. The only downside of our stay had nothing to do with the property, but the fact that Margate town center was very dirty ( dog droppings on the pavements everywhere) which schocked us a bit.

Tolle, liebevoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung. Sehr gemütlich. Ruhige Lage in Strandnähe mit vielen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten um die Ecke.

Wir hatten als 5-köpfige Familie eine tolle Woche in diesem unglaublich liebevoll eingerichteten Haus in Margate. Tolle Lage, zu Fuß zum Meer und zum Einkaufen, im Hause fehlte absolut gar nichts, eine große Küche mit allem, was man braucht. Schöne Schlafzimmer, Fernseher, kleiner Garten, privater Parkplatz. Die Kommunikation mit Robert war perfekt, total freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder - Margate lohnt sich!

Große Ferienwohnung, gute, ruhige Lage mit zwei Parkplätzen. Kontakt mit dem Vermieter hervorragend. Alles zusammen: empfehlenswert!

The property was lovely and clean. The house was quiet and spacious and the generous kitchen meant that we could all eat together comfortably. We would absolutely stay again!

A delightful house with allocated parking for two cars and within easy walking reach of Margate’s beaches and main attractions. The rooms have nice proportions with high ceilings - the lounge is a very sociable room and the kitchen can easily seat six around the table without encroaching on the cooking/preparation area. Usually we are sceptical about “over the bath” showers but the one in this house is excellent. We’ll definitely rent again at some point. Thank you Robert for being a helpful and very approachable owner.

We had a great week's stay over the Easter holiday. Clean, cosy and comfortable with lots of character. Short 10 minute walk into Margate old town and great base to explore the many fantastic nearby beaches.

Wir haben unseren Sommerurlaub 2018 als Familie mit 2 Kindern (11 und 14) in England verbracht und in diesem schönen Haus gewohnt. Das Haus hat Historie und wurde liebevoll restauriert. Die Fotos zeigen es. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, wir haben uns 2 Wochen lang sehr wohl gefühlt. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt als 2 Wochen wäre eventuell eine Waschmaschine nötig. Der nette Vermieter hat uns jede Hilfe angeboten, und auch einen Handtuchwechsel, bzw. Bettwäschewechsel nach einer Woche organisiert. Das lief alles sehr unkompliziert über die Haushälterin, die auch die Endreinigung übernommen hat. Wir mussten nur aufräumen. Da wir mit dem Auto angereist sind, haben wir uns auch über die Privatparkplätze sehr gefreut. Diese befinden sich direkt vor dem Haus in einem Innenhof. Von hier aus sind wir zu Tagestouren z. B. nach Dover, Canterbury, Portsmouth, etc. aufgebrochen. Nach London sind wir mit der Bahn gefahren (knapp 2 Stunden) und haben dort den London Pass genutzt, mit dem man die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten erleben kann, eine Schifffahrt auf der Themse mitmachen und auch die Hop-on Hop-off Busse nutzen kann. In Margate gibt es einen schönen Altstadtkern und einen sauberen und flachen Sandstrand (Main Sands). Hier waren wir sehr oft und auch die Kinder haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die an die Altstadt angrenzende Nordstadt ist nicht so sauber und lädt daher nicht zu Spaziergängen ein. Einkaufen kann man sehr gut z. B. im Aldi und auch im Westwood Cross (Einkaufsparadies mit günstigen Preisen) nur wenige Autominuten entfernt. Zusammengefasst gibt es von jedem Familienmitglied einen Daumen hoch.

The Wilderness Rooms, with lovely high ceilings, have been tastefully renovated and are very well equipped with all you need in the kitchen to eat in and shops and restaurants within close proximity. There were nice touches - a bottle of wine, tea, coffee etc. Although close to amenities the location is quiet. Margate centre is within easy walking distance or, if preferred, there is a bus route two minutes walk from the property. The owner, Rob, had provided a good information pack and, had it rained, plenty to amuse us. It is a good property to explore The Isle of Thanet which has some wonderful beaches and gardens. The loop bus which joins Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate is a great facility. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Rob responded speedily to any queries.

We(Gran and Grandpa, Mum and Dad and grandchildren 7 and 4) have just returned from a week at this well appointed, spacious and well equipped house. We found the kitchen diner spacious and well equipped with everything we all needed although an iron and ironing board would have been useful. The living room was comfortable with good wifi, tv, dvd,satellite box etc. All 3 bedrooms were sizeable and comfortable. The car parking was good and we were able to visit Whitstable, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Sandwich, Walmer and Deal. Locally the Turner Contemporary Gallery, Dane Park and Viking adventure playground were all good for the grandchildren. Thank you for an excellent week.

Wir - eine Familie mit zwei Teenage Kindern - haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr großzügig, liegt sehr zentral in Margate, nur wenige Minuten von Stadtmitte und Strand entfernt. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und Pubs sind alle in der Nähe, das Haus selber liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstrasse. Komfortable Parkplätze direkt vor dem Haus, kein rangieren norwendig. Die Ausstattung ist liebevoll - zum Teil im Stil der 60er Jahre - gehalten. Die Küche ist klasse, sehr gross und offen, viel Platz zum Essen, Gespräche, spielen etc. Alle notwendigen technischen Geräte sind vorhanden und up to date. Kleine Einschränkung ist das Wlan, dass für die doch recht starke Nutzung durch Teenager etwas zu langsam ist. Für dem normalen Hausgebrauch aber völlig ausreichend. Die Kommunikation mit Rob war völlig unkompliziert mit sehr zielgerichteter Information, zur Begrüssung gab es eine Flasche Weisswein im Kühlschrank, An- und Abreise völlig flexibel gestaltbar durch Schlüssel-Tresor System. Insgesamt ein sehr zu empfehlendes Haus!!
