What can I say!! It was a wonderful stay. Lovely location, astonishing views and very friendly atmosphere. Frank and Jo were awesome. Jo was very friendly, extremely helpful and knowlegable. We were missing the check in time due to unavoidable train strikes, however Frank and Jo were kind enough and flexible to accommodate and make us feel welcome. Loved the room, it was superb and the views were majestic. My wife really loved the interior and the character of the B&B. We would definitely recommend and come back in the future.

Accommodation was located in a quiet road which was only a 5 minute walk from Ambleside town centre. Parking to the front of the property felt safe and secure. Our room was spacious with a comfortable super king size bed, ample wardrobe space, tea making facilities and a large ensuite with shower and bath. Breakfasts were plentiful with cereal, fruit and then the option of a full english sourced from local produce. The waitress was delightful, efficient, friendly, with good local knowledge of the surrounding area and happy to pass on advice on walks, local attractions etc. Would definately recommend Brantholme Guest House to future guests to the Lake District and would have no hesitation in staying there again. The room is big and comfortable with a beautiful view and the B&B is located on a quiet street in lovely Ambleside.

The cons are: you can hear your neighbours talking due to the wooden floors, it is difficult to darken the room because there are no curtains and only 3 roller blinds. Considdering the environment, i do understand there is no daily changing of the towels, but no change at all during 3 nights is in my opion too few for this price; but after asking , i got clean towels the same evening. And last but not least, the breakfast is not what we expected. There is a good English breakfast and some cereals and some fruit, but i miss something like a fresh baked breadroll or croissant, home made jam extra to marmelade and coffee like capuccino or cafe latte and not only the coffee made the Cumbrian way. So we had a decent stay, but not worth the 150 GBP we paid.

The room was lovely and sunny, clean and comfortable. Jo and Frank were great, Jo was a font of knowledge with many recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed our morning chat with Jo! The hot tub was an absolute bonus thoroughly recommend booking it ! :) We will definitely be returning could not fault anything about this place !

Very central location, a big property, privately owned by a lovely couple, meticulously looked after and felt very at home. This is what the Lake District experience is also about staying at beautiful b and bs with home cooked full English breakfast. So much nicer than a big hotel!

A beautiful B&B in a stunning location. Jo and Frank made us feel very welcome and were so helpful. A large selection for breakfast with good vegetarian options. Large, comfortable room and a huge bed. Water pressure in the shower was incredible. We loved the private hot tub overlooking the fells. We will definitely stay again next time we’re in the Lakes!
