Beautiful renovation of old building with original features preserved. The terrace was a fabulous place to sit late into the night. Excellent breakfast and attentive staff.

The AC in my bedroom wasn't very efficient.

An amazing hotel. Looks old from the outside, but really pretty on the inside! The staff was great, helped us with everything we needed and more! The town is just beautiful!!

No tea making facilities the room or freely available in the kitchen area. The noisy wooden floors when other guests return to the hotel late at night. Soundproofing between rooms isn’t great. I could hear everything in the room next door (when a guest returned at 2.30am. I eventually had to knock on his door and ask him to be considerate). The noise of the occasional train passing the back of the hotel

Good location for arriving by train and leaving by river boat. Hotel has been constructed sympathetically with the original building. Very comfortable bed!

Extremely slow elevator (on purpose- to keep it quiet). Took us over a minute to take us to the third floor. Train passes just behind the hotel.

Location is amazing. Marialena at the front desk went above and beyond to help us schedule a sunset river wine cruise as well as multiple wine tastings at local quintas.

Room and building were beautiful but it is super loud with guests above our room and in the hallways. Also the room was so minimalistic that it even lacked a small table to set a glass of wine on. The generous breakfast was fantastic! Location was great, despite no view.

What a beautifully designed and appointed hotel. While the rooms are on the small side, they have everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. The location is very convenient to all the wineries in the area. An exceptional value.

The hotel is in an old building which has been renovated carefully. They took care of every details during the renovation. It is located in the center of the small town just stone throw away from the river and railway station. As ithe rooms located in the back of the hotel are very close to the rails, it advisable to use some earplugs during night if you are a light sleeper. The breakfast is great with local products and fresh fruits. It is a real great value for money!

A totally unexpected gem. Great location, absolutely beautiful hotel. Basic but gorgeous. Would highly recommend to those that like boutique hotels, not plastic palaces. Staff very friendly. Rooms simple but lovely.

The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Location was great. Comfortable bed and very clean facilities. Lovely breakfast. We made use of a corner balcony overlooking the river.

Roadside parking was potluck, but we were usually lucky. The hotel is a conversion of a lovely old building - characterful but we were sometimes aware of noise from other residents.

The decoration of the hotel is great. We felt at home immediately.

Unfortunately, the sleeping couch was quite noisy.

It was very clean, the staff was friendly/helpful, the location was good, and the rooms were nice.

The elevator was very slow and the stairs were steep.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Only a block from the famous wine bars an old building has been remarkably restored to produce a hotel which is really almost like a member of Small Luxury Hotels. The value for money is outstanding and we come back and back. Breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. Arquitects should book to admire the impeccable quality of the restoration. Staff is very, very friendly and helpful.

Light sleepers might have a small problem as a train line passes just behind the hotel. However, during the night very few trains pass by and it is not like the trains are shaking people in their beds.

Amazing renovations. Worth every penny. I’ll be back.
