Staying in this gorgeous boutique hotel with only seven rooms absolutely made our five day visit to Cartagena. Perfect location for multiple quick forays daily on foot into the searing heat to visit all the important points of interest and fine restaurants. The calm and gracious interior space was always a welcome refuge from the chaotic and loud street scenes of the city. The wifi never skipped a beat; a/c in the room was excellent; hot water and pressure perfect; breakfast was made to order and delicious (7am-12pm) with French press coffee available at 6am. No lunch or dinner restaurant on site but not missed with all the great food and drinks just outside the door. Many thanks to Dorian and and all of the super attentive staff who helped make our stay perfect.

Un bâtiment historique très bien aménagé, en plein centre de la vieille ville, et très joliment décoré. Une architecture très intéressante avec une grande hauteur sous plafond et une circulation d'air bien pensée, pour garder de la fraicheur malgré la chaleur de la ville. Joli patio pour le petit déjeuner, mini piscine, uniquement 6 chambres. On a l'impression d'habiter dans une maison...
Cela reste cher malgré tout...

Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of all the action. Breakfast was delicious. Rooftop pool was a little oasis to relax with a cool breeze blowing.

Hotel muy bonito y muy bien ubicado, pero lo mejor el personal, super amables todos, nos dieron muy buenas recomendaciones y nos ayudaron con todo lo que necesitamos.

18th century colonial home right in center of walled city but a refuge once you enter

Wonderful staff, beautiful hotel, and the rooftop pool was the amazing. A very special place to stay.
On the final night we switched rooms and it was on the street. It is very noisy and I struggled to sleep.

The place is located in the hearth of Cartagena. It is nicely designed with amazing interior features. Rooftop is lovely. Breakfast was great and the staff was absolutely amazing. :-) The were super friendly, super professional and super helpful. We'd definitely love to return.

The rooftop is lovely, both for the view and the pool and the different spots to relax. Cartagena is very hot and lively, so we were grateful to have a few hours of downtime on the roof each day. The location was perfect for exploring the walled city (we felt safe at all times), with many of the top restaurants only minutes walk away.
The staff were all very attentive and friendly. It felt like a proper boutique experience. The food we had was all excellent and the breakfast options were very generous.
We chose a smaller room, which was well decorated and comfortable. We were especially grateful to have an iron and ironing board (the other hotels we have stayed in over a two week period have not had this).
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
The hot water in the shower was not always hot.

Emplacement idéal très central. Chambre calme avec fenêtres donnant sur un patio central. Chambre et salle de bains spacieuses. Décoration superbe et raffinée avec des antiquités indiennes et colombiennes, un vrai musée ! Personnel très agréable. Petit déjeuner super, ainsi qu'un repas que nous avons pris le soir de notre arrivée, une cassolette de fruits de mer, le meilleur repas de notre voyage !
Salle de bains très chaude, dont les ouvertures communiquent avec l'extérieur. Chambre à l'étage dont l'escalier est très haut ainsi que les marches. Pas de douche amovible ni de miroir grossissant. Pas de cafetière ni bouilloire électrique, comment souvent dans les hôtels en Colombie...

The property was gorgeous and this was one of the best hotels we ever stayed in because it felt like you were stepping back into time. There is a photo op lurking in every corner. From the staff to the decor, to luscious greenery, to the delicious breakfast every morning, this hotel is everything and more! Loved every moment! Thank you Amarla!

Gorgeous Boutique hotel in the heart of the old town. So beautifully designed and extremely private. (It felt like we had the place all to ourselves despite the place being fully booked). Extremely secure as the staff are available 24/7 to let you in. Breakfast was delicious and very generous. Our bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever stayed in (and thank goodness for the A/C). Lastly - The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Can’t wait to return!
We loved the rooftop & pool, however it did feel a little tricky to order a drink.

Aesthetic and well air conditioned rooms, comfortable bedding, amazing and flexible breakfast every day (plated), extremely helpful staff. We booked most rooms at amarla for a girls trip and had a wonderful time, and found it was super easy walking distance to every club/bar/restaurant we wanted to go to and someone always at the front desk to receive us. Roof top pool and shaded courtyard were essential! The staff went above and beyond while there — one of the rooms had a broken a/c and they were quick to proactively resolve by providing additional lodging for a night at a sister hotel, before fixing it the next day.
Location is amazing but like the rest of the walled city, rooms can be a little bit loud depending on the room! Opt for a room facing the courtyard when available. Prices are a little steep for Cartagena but the property is very boutique/luxurious with the best value breakfast I’ve had in town (after staying in 4 other hotels). Great especially for couples/small groups.

Everything! The property is in center of cartagena but it’s a small oasis with 0 noise coming through. The swimming pool is better than you can imagine and the breakfast and service are top! We would love to come back!

Really lovely staff and beautiful decor. The roof terrace with the pool is stunning and the rooms are decorated with care. Communication was seamless and the staff were attentive and communicated well. Superb breakfast and good location.
The room we stayed in could have been ventilated a bit better but we liked it overall.

This is such a wonderful hotel. The common areas are beautiful, and it has definitely kept its colonial charm whilst feeling very luxurious. The room was comfortable and well equipped, and the staff were incredibly cordial and helpful.
The only issue is we had a desk semi-blocking the door, so accessing the balcony wasn’t easy. It’s also worth noting that some rooms are quite noisy at night. Not the hotel’s fault as it’s coming from the street below, but for the rooms that face the road, maybe they could offer earplugs.
The shower did not get very hot for very long and the old shower head means the water sort of splatters in weird directions, but it wasn’t terribly inconvenient.

This is an incredible hotel! Probably one of the most charming I have ever been.. it’s super well decorated, the staff is lovely, breakfast amazing, the pool is small but sufficient, ideally located ! Oh and the bed…. So soft what a pleasure to sleep in this bed

Breakfast was very big and very good. Location is just about the best possible in the historic center, yet the rooms are still quiet. The hotel itself is a beautiful 18th century house. The classic rooms don't look out onto open space and are fairly small. Bathrooms are charming, though old fashioned. These latter features were something to be expected in staying in this kind of boutique hotel in the old city.

_Outdated Check-in experience: It's unbelievable that we are in 2023 and we still have a check-in process with a lot of frictions and paper to fulfill and non-GDPR compliant documents printing. Booking.com could provide an online checking feature to solve the pain point for the hotels hosted in their platform

The ambience is so quiet, so relaxing, perfect blend between the old architecture and the conforts of modern days. The palms and hanging plants at the main patio are simply perfect. The hotel has vast common areas to accommodate a number of people many times over the amount of guest in the rooms which guarantee you will have your space in the common areas at all times wherever you want without feeling crowded.

Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of the historic part of the city. It's located in a busy touristy area (in a good way as the main sights are easy to reach, and it feels safe) but inside it's like an oasis - quiet and lovely. The staff are amazing. Also, we loved the tours arranged for us by the hotel - a walking tour with Chaime and the fruit & chocolate tasting with Oscar were memorable experiences.

Also, no gym (neither at the hotel itself nor nearby).

The staff and breakfast were amazing. The breakfast has a variety of options including a fruit salad and fresh juices. The bed is very comfy.
The room was not very spacious so I wouldn't choose this room for many days.

The full staff was awesome especially Maria. Thank you very much to her and the team to take care of us and to support us in our wishes.
WIFI in the room is unstable . swimming pool was not technically working during 4 days of our week there and it was noisy from 8am to 4pm. However, Maria organized a boat trip for us to the island for free. The staff did his best.
