Goed ontbijt. Goed diner. Ook hier personeelskrapte, maar pakte niet verkeerd uit. Mooi uitzicht op de bergen en het water. Uitermate vriendelijke medewerkers met humor en een missie om de accommodatie beter te maken. En -bonus- een wijngaard op het terrein.

De bedden. Alhoewel daar een diversiteit in zat. Bij de boxsprings waren de veren te goed te merken. Gemeld, bekend en matrassen aan het vervangen. Het hotel zou aan kracht winnen als iedere kamer openslaande deuren zou hebben en een eigen buiten. Dan mag ook de prijs van de hotelkamer naar boven (een investering die zich terugverdient).

Beautiful location

Unkempt garden , dated and tired , carpet tiles were dirty , shower tile grout dirty , noisy , no room fridge, poor service on Restaurant , food very ordinary - we expected much better

The property is in a nice location, great view and garden.

Room was small, view was not the best, shower dirty, expensive compared to what you get, breakfast was boring and not very good. Room had an echo and poorly designed in terms of sound, cobwebs in the window, old room with no power outlets by bed.

We kregen zoals gevraagd een mooie, rustige kamer MET UITZICHT … TOP.ER LIEVE VRIENDELIJKE BEGELEIDING.

Het dinertje was lekker, maar het vlees niet zacht genoeg naar Belgische normen …🤗

Location by the lake was excellent. It was interesting to find a lot of artworks in the halls of the hotel. Good breakfast.

A small detail about the bafhroom: the toilet feeder was hanged in a way that made it uncomfortable to use the toilet.

Thorbjornrud is an older hotel that has a couple of additions made to it. This is not a modern sleek hotel. It is the type of hotel that immerses one into the history of the location as well as the comfort of scandinavia. The hotel and especially the rooms were spotless. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast that was included was very good. There were many visitors the day we stayed so the chefs were scrambling to keep up, which to their credit, they did. Situated on a beautiful Norwegian lake, the hotel offers views and walking paths in all directions. We saw many people walking to the outdoor water recrecreation center that sits on the lake in a cove next to the hotel. The local people have a stronger constitution than I because it was only 16 degrees out and cloudy. It looked like fun though. A smart move on the owners part was to add glamping. Each of the glamping stations in set up on a wooden platform looking out to the water. They were full with families enjoying the long summer day and sunshine still at 10:30 pm. Thank goodness for the blockout curtains in my room. If I had more time in the area I would have enjoyed staying longer and taking in the surrounding community. If you have the opportunity to visit, you will be doing yourself a favor. Enjoy.

The additions are single floor long buildings that means one has a long walk to the room pulling suitcases. But that is not really a negative, just an obsertvation.

Convenient transportation, beautiful environment, well-equipped facilities, highly recommended.

Breakfast and dinner where good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Near a lake.

Old fashion and simple but can possibly be considered part of the charm. Could not adjust the temperature in the room.
