Wonderful villa with the great views & pool. A few minutes walk from a good taverna, not cheap but great quality. A short drive or 30 minutes walk to the Poseidon Temple. 10 minutes drive to the town of Laurium, with good supermarkets and a large selection of restaurants. Almost one and a half hour drive into the centre of Athens with busy traffic. One long day was enough for us to see the main sights, so we then stayed local. Great holiday thanks to the wonderful villa and attention from the caretakers.

The villa was in a lovely location, with beautiful views across the sea, and the pool was the best pool we've ever had at a villa, maintained daily by the caretaker. There was also on site access to a small beach area where we snorkeled. The hosts are friendly and attentive. We stayed for 7 days and really had a lovely reset. Thank you !

Such an amazing place! We had the best 10 days here, it was the perfect place to relax & recharge. The pool was huge and fantastic, the kids absolutely loved it. The house was just right with everything you could need, air con in the bedrooms was a fab. Location was great, super easy to get to from Athens airport and close to some fantastic restaurants and amenities as well as some brilliant beaches (although really easy access to the sea from the villa itself!) Hosts were fab, really helpful and easy communication. Just the perfect place for the perfect holiday!

The initial sight of the villa and grounds along with the sea view is breathtaking. Marina and Andrios, caretakers, were there to greet us and show us around. Communication with the owner is fantastic. The villa is lovely inside, all bedrooms have air conditioning and a well equipped kitchen. Plus there is a large built in barbecue and pizza oven at the rear, which was fantastic. We spent most of our time outside. There is a large covered patio area plus a first floor balcony, both with tables and gorgeous views of the sea. The pool is huge and has it's own changing rooms and toilets, along with tables and chairs, umbrellas and sunbeds. There is a wonderful sea breeze which helps to keep you cool. When we fancied a change of scene we made our way down some steps to the sea. There is a hard standing area with sunshades and chairs with metal steps to the sea for the local houses to use. We had great fun snorkeling and swimming, plus looking up at our fantastic villa. We bought swim shoes as there are sea urchins. We had an absolutely amazing holiday, best holiday ever, we loved it. So worth the 2 year delay from covid, I can't praise it enough.

I could have cried real tears when we had to leave. It was my favorite place we stayed in Greece. I would often stay awake at night looking out the window at the moon glistening over the water. Truly breathtaking! Everything was perfect at the house and we felt well taken care of.

My husband and I brought our four kids (6-12) for a five day vacation in the midst of our European tour, and it was perfect. My kids’ reaction to the pool (and my husbands and mine to the view) were worth the cost alone. We relaxed and enjoyed ourselves so much and two of my kids only got out of the pool because of a thunderstorm otherwise were in it from sun up to down. I enjoyed snorkeling in the clear Aegean every day. Kind caretakers, excellent communication/rapid replies from the owner, and although the house is somewhat rustic, it is meticulously cared for and spotless. A super easy 45 minute drive from the airport (no super narrow roads and not too many twists and turns). 5 mins from Poseidons temple and a little over an hour into Athens to see the acropolis and other sites. We would return in a heartbeat.

Wir hatten wunderschöne Ferien mit unseren erwachsenen Kindern in diesem tollen Anwesen. Der Pool hat eine hervorragende Größe zum Relaxen und zur sportlichen Nutzung. Das Haus und die Anlage entsprechen der Beschreibung und waren sauber und gepflegt. Die Aussicht ist legendär. Wir wurden sehr freundlich vom Verwalterehepaar empfangen. Der Besitzer unterstützte uns bei allen Fragen sehr freundlich und war sehr hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank, es war super!

The property is very clean and maintained and its location is excellent. The pool and adjacent beach next to him are stunning. Owner available and courteous.

The villa is quite rudimentary but this is more than made up for by the outdoor space which provides privacy and lots of room to enjoy the sunshine including a huge salt water swimming pool. The location is also fantastic with uninterrupted views out to sea, a taverna in walking distance and full range of shops etc. just a few minutes drive away. The owners are also super helpful, they responded positively to every query or enquiry both before and during our stay, they really made us feel welcome. Word of warning on the tennis court, it is actually just a fenced area of hard standing with a net, it’s fine for a knock up but there are no lines and the area is much to small for a court so don’t expect to be able to play a game. Overall a good value villa - super place to enjoy the beautiful climate

Kurzfristig haben wir Anfang Oktober gebucht. Das Wasser im Pool sowie das Meer waren noch herrlich warm (rund 25 Grad), absolut badetauglich und zum Geniessen. Das Haus ist mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet, wir haben bei weitem nicht alles benötigt. Die Kaffeemaschine (Dolce Gusto) ist perfekt. WLAN funktioniert gut. Das Haus verfügt über 3 Schlafzimmer sowie zwei Badezimmer. Genial ist sicher der grosse Salzwasserpool mit der herrlichen Aussicht über das Meer. Man kann auch gleich unterhalb des Hauses im Meer baden, doch einladender sind die Sandstrände in der Nähe. Ein Auto ist empfohlen, da die Strasse über keinen Gehsteig verfügt. Die nächste Taverne (rund 250 m die Strasse hinunter) kann gut zu Fuss erreicht werden, doch ich empfehle eine Taschenlampe mitzunehmen, damit man sich auch im Dunkeln bemerkbar machen kann. Die Lebensmittelgeschäfte sind in Lavrio, einzig eine (gute) Bäckerei ist in der Nähe. Fazit: Super Haus mit genialem Pool für entspannte Ferien, abolut zum Empfehlen.

The highlight of this villa is the fantastic swimming pool and outdoor area. Very clean water, pool large enough for proper swimming and playing. Great location on the coast with steps down to the sea. Villa was clean and facilities good. Local taverna was easily walkable, bakery a few minutes drive. We had a really good family holiday.

Extremely nice place to stay at your holiday. Lovely house, extremely awesome pool, tennis court, fully equipped house...thats simply awesome. We really enjoyed our stay! We will come back! 😊

We spent two weeks at this villa and thoroughly enjoyed it. The outdoor space is exceptional with an enormous salt water pool, plenty of seating/sun beds and an excellent BBQ and pizza oven area. Alex the owner was very helpful throughout our stay.

This villa is all about the privacy, the pool and the snorkelling!! It is a salt water pool and incredibly buoyant. The owners are friendly and respectful. A very happy family holiday.

The villa has a great location: easy access from the airport and still in the countryside with its tranquility and seafront location. In the neighborhood we dined at many excellent restaurants . The unique and the world famous Temple of Poseidon is just 5 minutes drive from the villa. We drove to Athens to make some shopping and visit museums and the route was easy and took just a little ovet an hour. Thr owner was very helpful and answered immediately to us. The villa was dashing with a world-class swmming pool. We have rented villas in the Mediterranian but never had a pool like this !

Villa’s main advantage is huge swimming pool 20x10m with sea water, outside showers, WC and even changing rooms. House is cozy and comfortable for 5 people, equipped with all necessary for comfortable living. But we have spent almost all the time outside enjoying sea view or swimming in the pool. Sea is easily accessible from the territory by the staircase. No sand beach, but coast territory is private with minimum people and equipped with all necessary, like benches, shower and even snorkeling equipment. Kind and polite staff lived in neighborhood and was always ready to assist. Villa is located in 1 hour ride from Athens and we managed to have 4 trips in 15 days. Also there is some memorable sightseeing in close distance, for example Poseidon temple, ancient Thorikos amphitheater or National Park. Currently whole family is experiencing pleasant nostalgia:) Honestly I’d strongly recommend Villa Sunio for families, who are looking for unforgettable vacation near Athens.

Overall this is a lovely, and very large property. The pool is amazing and the outdoor entertainment space is very large (eating, tennis, access to beach). It is less than an hour easy drive from Athens. The roads seemed quite quiet and no one really drives all that fast. Next door are a couple who help look after things if there are any problems, which is very helpful. A few quite nice tavernas are all within a very short driving distance (5-10 mins max) and also big supermarket in under 10 mins drive. The only downsides: 1. We stayed mid April, and for me the pool was too cold at this time(but that is my choice to come at this time of year, so not a fault of the property), I imagine in the summer the pool is a lovely temperature. 2. The shower is quite disappointing (small , and you really need 3 hands - to hold the shower and peel the shower curtain off you). Again, maybe in the summer the outdoor showers (which look very nice) are fine for this purpose. 3. A small thing, but worth noting given the stair case does not have hand rails it would not be appropriate for very young children. It was fine for our kids but a few years ago that could have caused us a problem. Overall, it is a lovely property and worth noting the owner was very friendly and responsive to all my questions before and during the stay.

I just cannot express myself enough as soon as we arrived we immediately realized the magnificence of this place. My wife and I could not believe our own eyes it is the most beautiful place we have ever seen. When we arrived, the owner was waiting on us he was very accommodating and explained the history of the property with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. Great restaurants and shops five minutes away with friendly people at every place visited. We could not have ask for a more perfect vacation and we defiantly will go back again next year.

My family of 6 just spent an absolutely wonderful week at Villa Sounio. I would not have changed a thing. The view, the weather, the history, the area, the food, the people, the owners, and the caretakers of the property. We felt like we were staying with family (family that we like). The house is stunning and the views are simply breathtaking. Although we had several days with planned activities, we also spent several quiet days just enjoying the pool, the view, the semi private lake access. One of the owners, Alex helped us many times with ordering food, recommending restaurants and even dealing with the rental car company when our car broke down. Adonis, who is one of the property caretaker, drove us over an hour to the port to catch our ferry when the rental car broke down and also picked us up again. The area provides for easy access to restaurants, bakeries, ports for renting or chartering boats, simple shopping a and the the Temple of Poseidon (which is stunning). The area is also not too far from visiting Athens or catching the ferry to one of the Islands (Hydra is a must see). Reading the other reviews, it is clear that we are not the only ones with these opinions. I cannot compliment this Villa and the owners enough. We certainly hope to come back. Owners were really nice and could not do enough for us.....we had 2 power cuts during our stay and they made sure we were ok and brought lights etc.... Very nice week, shame about the sun not coming out that much, but it was October...

We stayed a week in the villa and had a fabulously relaxing time. The villa is really all about the outdoor space - which is hard to fault. The kids (11&9) were amply entertained by the pool, diving board and popping down for a dip in the sea (with us!). The house is well equipped though quite functional but is comfortable and with charm. Bathrooms fine, but perhaps a little outdated. We appreciated the provision of washing up detergents etc along with basic kitchen ingredients - not that we did much cooking. Good tavernas close by and decent supermarkets in Lavrio along with proximity to Athens and local sights make this a nice easy holiday. On site caretakers Antoni and Miranda are lovely, helpful and unobtrusive and we communicated v well mainly in sign language! We also met one of the owners who is clearly passionate about the work they have done to revive this old house. One final note, the directions when you receive them seem a little vague (series of maps and sat nav/street view pictures) but work perfectly! We hope to return ...

Spent two very enjoyable and relaxing weeks at this location. House would benefit from some modernisation but is perfectly functional for a holiday focused on the outdoors. Pool area is first class.

We spent two weeks in this villa with our boys aged 11 and 14 and all enjoyed it greatly. The location is stunning and the exterior of the villa unmatched, including the largest private pool I have ever seen. The pool was kept in perfect condition and swimming in it while looking over the Aegean was a great pleasure. We also enjoyed swimming and snorkeling off the rocks below the villa. Indoors is not huge but very adequate, with very well equipped kitchen, barbecue and the great covered external area where we often sat. Access to very good tavernas, Sounio temple and ancient mine remnants make this a great location.

If you want to have in all peace your dinner looking at the see while you children are splashing in the huge swimming pool, this is where to go. The pool his huge, sea is 20 steps away. The house itself is properly described and pictures show the reality. It is not extremely big, but the 120 SQM is very adequate for six people. And anyhow, when the sun is shining, who wants to sit inside. Wifi works fine (in case children are not in the pool, that seems to be important as well). We had a great three days end of October and thinking when to come back.

I found this picture-perfect property while looking for alternatives to the time and expense of traveling to one of the islands. This place was exactly what I envisioned! Yes, that entire pool area is for the sole use of this property. We would sit poolside drinking coffee in the morning or wine in the evening, enjoying the sound of the waves on the rocks below. The pool is simply stunning at night, the surface like clear glass. The stars, the Aegean, ahhh... There is a semi-private beach area just below the property that is accessed by a long flight of stairs. It's a rocky beach with tables, umbrellas, and a ladder into the water. It's a very pretty, protected spot that is great for swimming. Just be careful--sea urchins! There were five in our party, my husband and I, and three teen boys. The three air-conditioned bedrooms (two with queens, one with two twins) had beds that were comfortable. There are two bathrooms. There is plenty of space for people to spread-out, so everyone had privacy should they want it. We prepared most of our meals on-site and found the kitchen to be outfitted better than any VRBO we've visited. We had every appliance we wanted and enough tableware for us to eat two meals without having to do dishes. We'd take our meals out on the patio to enjoy the gorgeous weather and views. Families hoping to do laundry should note the washing machine is very small and clothes need to hang dry. I think this is typical? Just be aware this is NOT your huge front-loader. Groceries, banking, dining, just about anything you might need is in the nearby town of Lavrio. We drove up to Athens twice, taking the longer route along the coastline. It's a beautiful drive! There are a couple nearby ruins to visit: Poseidon's Temple (south of the property) and the Thorikos Theater (north of Lavrio). The theater takes some work to find (it's not well-marked), but it's a wonderful site. Perhaps the best part of this property was the hospitality of the owner, Alexandros. He greeted us warmly and shared the history of this old stone house and the surrounding area. When someone in our group stepped on a sea urchin, he came to the house and was ready to take us to a local urgent care facility. Instead his mother came to the house bearing supplies and advice on how to remove the spines on our own. This sort of attention goes above and beyond! If you're looking for a private, quiet, Greece beach vacation, this is the perfect spot!

Absolutely satisfied It was a fantastic holiday house for a very relaxing family holiday. The sea view from the garden, the pool area and from all 3 bedrooms is breath taking. There are plenty of space for a family of 4 persons, especially all the outdoor sitting areas (there are several) are equipped with good quality furniture and were clean. We are frequent travelers, but we have not very often seen a pool that is kept so clean as this one, and it is a very large pool. The garden is also well kept. It is the first time we booked a private house for vacation through HomeAway. I am very satisfied with the system. The owner, Mr. ALEXANDROS ARAVANIS was very fast in responding to my inquiries and provided perfectly clear information. Upon our arrival, we felt immediately welcome and at ease. Freshly baked homemade cake, jams and honey and a bottle of wine were waiting for us as complementary gifts from the owner. The owner has put so much attention to details, which made our vacation very comfortable and un-complicated. The villa is well equipped with a nice kitchen that has all kinds of modern equipments one can desire! Additionally, there were sufficient ingredients such as salt, pepper dishwashing tablets etc., so we did not need to buy everything in order to make simple meals. Each room is equipped with clean bed sheets and plenty of good quality towels, though the double beds are on the small side. The wifi system worked also very well. Although the house gate is on the main road around Souion Cape and it was very easy to find, the house we stayed was below another house further away from the road. Therefore, it is very quiet throughout the day and night. There are several good restaurants with 5-10 minutes drive distance. We felt very save and un-disturbed with our privacy preserved throughout the whole week, although there is a care taker who ensured that the pool is clean every day. We would highly recommend this house for couples, family or a small group.

Every window of the wonderful stone house is like a painting with marvelous view. The swimming pool is very large ,private and clean. The facilities of the house are well maintained and the owners helpful .I would absolutely recommend it to everyone ,family with kids or romantic couples.

The property is superb, clean and well maintained. The swimming pool is impressive and private to the house. The property is ~10 meters above the sea level with a splendid view to the sea and surroundings. The sea is accessible via stairs from the property. There is a small beach with stones [not sand], shared with the properties around. The description and the pictures on the site are describing the property with accuracy! The owners and the house keepers are very friendly and did everything they could to help. They provided relevant information about the surroundings. The attractions around are: Athens [~50 minutes drive], Sounion national park [2 minutes drive, for car or 4*4 jeep], sea/beaches around, Lavrio port and shops, open market in Lavrio periodically. I absolutely recommend the property.
