The host was wonderful & very helpful! We had a few issues with the electricity & heat, but she was prompt in handling them. The house & location are great - we were able to have the whole family stay together over Thanksgiving. As advertised, the house is very old and a bit creepy - but in a cool way. Like, I got the impression that there were probably ghosts there - but they were cool Old Austin ghosts, chillin having a good time.

We appreciated the opportunity to visit Ausitn, TX and have a cool place to return to after a full days activities. Plenty of space, wish teh weather would have allowed for a dip in the pool. Close to downtown and very quiet. The owners could not have been nicer and their communications were promptly asnswered. Make sure Uber drivers know to look for the red mailbox!

The house is older and decorated very eclectic. Lots of room and many various areas for visiting or relaxing. A little funky for some, but definitely a great location for all things austin. Very secluded atmosphere for in the city. A few glitches with internet and water, but owner is very responsive. Property could use a little love, but all in all it suited our needs!

It was a lot of fun. Loved the pool and the fire pit, enjoyed all the cool rooms and decor, liked the location.

My friends an I go to ACL every year for the last 9 years and this house was by far the best we've stayed in. It was huge and comfortable and it was perfect. Will be staying here for future visits!

We had an amazing stay at this house. The host was so easy to communicate with and very responsive. Checkin and check out were smooth and easy. The pool was perfect for the Texas heat and we loved the vibe of the place. It has so much character and charm. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Austin!

We had a ball on our short trip to Austin. It was HOT... our little Washingtonian bodies thought we might die...HOW do people live here??? But that pool was incredible, the house was cozy and stayed cool and we had such a great time exploring the city! The location could not be better, close to downtown but felt incredibly private. Checking in and out was a breeze and we had everything at the house that we needed. Instructions were clear and communication was great. The beds were SO comfortable...especially that red room :) We will be back...but perhaps not in August next time...

We had a wonderful stay plenty of room for our large family gathering .We enjoyed the pool very much with the texas heat we were very thankful for the pool and it allowed us all to get together and reconnect as a family overall it was a nice Vaca the property owner was very easy to contact and communicate with as she stays on the same property. The only issue we had was my brother is in a wheelchair and the house definitely isn't handicap assemble for someone in a wheelchair but besides that we had a wonderful stay!

This property is comfortable, and relaxing. It has great energy, and it is easy to tell that the family that owns it loves it! I will say that my younger boys hesitated at first, but, I kid you not, they asked if we could live there by day 3!😊 We enjoyed our stay SO VERY MUCH! The property owner, Virginia, was very gracious, and helpful to we “yankees” from Pennsylvania.😂 My eldest son played every instrument in the house, but he LOVED the grand piano! We absolutely loved our stay in Austin, and this property was our home away from home! Thank you, Pratt family!!!❤️

Quiet, felt secluded and located in a convenient location. We had four kids and they loved the pool. Virginia was there to meet us and was accessible if needed but gave us complete privacy. Clean, chill vibe, loved our stay and would book again.

Loved the house; Virginia is a great host, excellent communicator. The property is 100% as advertised, there are great pieces of vintage furniture and art/relics in the house. There is more than enough space and privacy. We enjoyed nights down by the pool and several days in it. Worth a stay if you are in the area, close to downtown, beats any hotel options.

We were in town for a UT Dell Med School event and the house worked perfect for our family.

We came to Austin to visit our daughter and explore a new city. We sought a property that embraced how eclectic Austin is and Virginia’s home did exactly that! We had everything we needed, Virginia was so easy to communicate with and the location was an easy ride to all of our destinations.

We were a family of seven that came to Austin for the first time to celebrate a birthday weekend. We had plenty of room to spread out during the day and close enough that anything we wanted was less than 10-20 minutes away. Plenty of ride share options made getting around a breeze. Most of our time had us in downtown Austin but there is plenty to see wherever you go. Go check out a sunset at the Oasis in Lake Travis. We didn’t realize SXSW was going on during our trip so that made things even more special. Virginia’s communication was great. We enjoyed the stay and would consider this location again!

My family had a great time at this amazing property! Hosts were incredibly responsive and proactive, the location is incredible, and we had an amazing weekend. House has a lot of character and each room has a character of its own.

We loved the comfort and historic feeling of the house. It is sprawling so plenty of room for people to be away or together. The kitchen was a bit tight for a Thanksgiving dinner but we did it and it was just fine. The grounds are amazing and we wish the weather had been more cooperative so we could have used the porch and outside areas and pool. Virginia was a most helpful and generous host. This holiday was a big success for our family and this home was a big part of that.

Home was great for our gathering of friends. Lots of gathering places indoors and out. Oasis in the middle of the city. Host was very friendly and responsive and worked with us after several postponements.

Convenient location with plenty of space. Pool was great for a warm weekend. Easy access to Austin. Owner is extremely responsive.

We enjoyed our time at this house, up a steep driveway and surrounded by vegetation. It hit the main points for us: plenty of room, full kitchen, and a swimming pool out back. The house is older and has its quirks, which you’ll love if you appreciate that sort of thing. AC set to 78 kept it cool enough in the August heat. Lots of cool old lighting, interesting reading, and a baby grand piano. Beds are comfy and the rooms are dark. Property owner was available to help (but we didn’t happen to need anything).

The location of this property couldn’t have been better. We were close to everything we had planned to do. The house was a 1940’s house. The water pressure left a lot to be desired, the shower heads needed to be updated, the mattresses need to be changed out, the pillows are terrible, the a/c zones need attention and the parking is a challenge. With that being said, if you are staying to visit Austin, the location couldn’t be better.

Lovely pool and charming house.

I rented Virginia’s home for my boyfriend’s 50th birthday celebration with friends and family. Virginia was extremely accommodating and friendly. She gave us privacy always, but answered questions promptly. Virginia’s home was perfect for our group and exactly as she describes it. I think anyone who isn’t happy with this spot did not read her description and reviews well enough. It is an older, eclectic home, but it is spacious and comfortable with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a pool! If you are looking for new and modern, this isn’t it. If you are looking for a lovely spot to spend time with family and friends, and have your own room, this is it. Her price is also so fair, far better than most. It was 90-100 while we visited, we spent almost the entire time out by the pool. It was the highlight. It is just as beautiful as the pictures and such a wonderful spot to hang out. She keeps the pool immaculately clean despite all the overhanging trees. Virginia also has pool floats, towels and Xmas lights at night. The bbq and chairs just add to it. It can be a bit warm at night in some of the rooms. The only thing that might have been nice would be fans in every room. We would absolutely stay here again.

This was our 4th visit to the property and it’s is our favorite Austin-area property that is perfect for escaping the heat in the beautiful pool or entertaining with the grill or the well appointed kitchen and dining room. With many comfortable bedrooms and 3 bathrooms everyone can have their privacy and comfort while enjoying the property. Icing on the top is the beautiful piano in the living room.

Although the property is older we were very comfortable and enjoyed the pool and all the space the home offered. Virginia was very helpful when someone got locked out and was always communicative. We had a great time.

Virginia was wonderful in extending her family home to our family. We came to Austin for a family reunion and wedding. The rooms welcomed leisure conversation. The pool was a focal point during the heat wave and we had plenty of sleeping arrangements. Centrally located we rarely ventured out. We loved our stay.

Fantastic weekend for our entire family of 8 in Austin for graduation. We enjoyed the unique and interesting older home with lots of charm and comfort. Super clean and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed the pool and cooking out on the grill. Awesome host attentive to anything we might need. Great place for our family to stay when in Austin!

Virginia is a wonderful hostess…very attentive and quick to help with whatever needed. It was my mom’s first experience with VRBO, and Virginia was able to show her around the home. It had all we needed and very conveniently located! Would definitely stay here again.

You would never know that this house is there from the street. The location is wonderful as is the pool. The host is very nice to deal with. We would absolutely come back.

Everything was ancient, house/appliances/tv. Had to rig toaster oven to work, dial spins completely around. Owner lives in back, her dogs bark at night. Get multiple emails, nickel & diming you as she charges extra watching from the back. Showers are horrible, low pressure & cold. No security. TV was old slow. Slow internet. Only good thing was the location of the house.

We arrived late on a Sunday and got settled into relax mode in no time. The pool was amazing, the sun room was perfect in the morning, and we could not have enjoyed our stay any more. Thanks for sharing such a lovely home.
