We came for the weekend to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday and really enjoyed this house. Very clean, nice rooms and nice linens. The traffic noise is a lot, as it’s a busy street, so maybe bring earplugs if that bothers you. Also, we are a tall bunch of people, and several of the light fixtures and doorways are short due to the age of the house, so be cautious if you are over 6ft tall.

The third bath was not usable due to leaky pipes. The beds were very squeaky, and they needed newer pillows and more blankets. The downstairs bath and the kitchen sink were dirty. Also the downstairs shower head leaks, so water pressure was lacking.

Location was great for proximity to the distilleries and the highway. The traffic could be heard at times but not too bad. There are 2 baths and 1 bedroom downstairs, and 2 bedrooms and 1 bath upstairs. The bowling alley at the corner was fun to visit. The owners are very quick with responses. Would definitely stay here again.

Very cute house, perfect for us three couples that were all there celebrating our wedding anniversaries, and to tour Louisville.

Great older home with very nice decorations. Not very many places that house 3 queen bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Perfect for the 3 couples on this Bourbon Trail experience.

Great stay in a nice location. Very clean and just as described by the host. The group was very happy with the location and the set up inside.

The place was very charming, as was the neighborhood. The owners were extremely accommodating, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to vacation in Louisville!

As soon as we opened the car door, my (adult) son said, ‘it stinks’ and it did smell bad at times. The furniture in the living room isn’t very comfortable. Street noise was a problem until midnight. However, the beds were clean & comfy and the showers good. We enjoyed our stay there!

Beautiful historic home in Butcherstown. The owners are great at communicating, and the area has a few hidden gems within walking distance. Right off the highway for easy access to local travel and sightseeing.

Property was well furnished, very clean, nicely decorated. Did not care for TV service, would have preferred Direct TV or DISH. Did have access to Netflix. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Will attempt to stay there again the next time in Louisville. Great VRBO overall!!!!

Owners responded very quickly when we needed to get ahold of them. Old, pretty property in great area. Close to everything and lots to do.

We had a good stay at Story Ave! Fun and quirky decor. We enjoyed the record player (and left a couple old favorite Christmas albums that we found at a thrift store). The house was well-stocked with towels, bedding, cooking pans and utensils, etc. We visited the pottery shop across the street and picked up some Christmas ornaments. We also saw a play at Derby Dinner Playhouse, which is 5 minutes away across the bridge. The bowling alley parking lot was closed, so we parked in the street. It's a bit tricky crossing the street because the traffic comes around the corner at quite a speed. Info for those who, like me, have mobility issues: there are several steps up from the street, and a few more to get into the house. There is one bedroom downstairs, and two bathrooms, although one of them is down a couple steps.

Love how the owner and his description was accurate of the house. Loved he used local business for the number plate on the house, HADLEY, located right across the street. Definitely a place to visit. The amenities were up to date and as stated. Thank you!

The house is just as presented; charming, big rooms, high ceilings and chandeliers! As many reviewers noted, there is a lot of traffic with cars getting on the freeway. But we didn't find that steady road noise a distraction at all. We're in the city after all.

We enjoyed the property. It is located in a cool part of old downtown. The place itself is nice and has a great historic feel. The amenities were all there. Overall we were very happy, just wished we could have stayed longer.

They aren’t kidding when they say this house is historic; which I love! The house was clean and had everything we needed. Tom was quick to respond to my messages. There were several businesses nearby for us to check out. I can appreciate the quirkiness of an up and coming neighborhood, so I felt at home. Like everyone has stated the traffic is quite loud, but that’s not the property owner’s fault.

The location was amazing because it was so close to downtown Louisville and walking distance to many restaurants. The house was very roomy and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and the washer and dryer were helpful to have. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting downtown Louisville or the surrounding area.

Parking was an issue but I drive a huge truck. My husband had hurt his back prior to coming so he had to stay at the hose the whole time and only on the couch. Furniture in the living room area could stand to be more comfortable but overall the stay was good.

Very clean and everything we needed. The little pig statue next door made us laugh. I wish there was a list of nearby pubs and restaurants that you like and recommend within walking distance. I know Louisville but not that area and would like suggestions.

We had a girls trip and it was a great location

The house was spaced out perfectly for our group and well appointed with everything we needed. It was clean and spacious. We were able to walk to so many places nearby. Would totally stay again!

You will love this home if you like old charm. Only bad point is the noise of the traffic. Bring ear plugs. Other than that it is in close proximity to everything.

If the weather had been warmer it would have been an easy walk to many places in Butchertown. The house is charming and the owners did a nice job with remodeling it for guests. They were quite creative with one of the downstairs bathrooms, squeezing it under a staircase. Luckily we are all under 5'4" so we could fit easily but a tall person would have to duck.My only complaints are that the upstairs bathroom floor needs better cleaning in the corners and could use a new coat of paint. There were also many lightbulbs that needed replaced. And for me, a country girl who is used to silence, the location on a busy street and near a highway on ramp, was disruptive. But that's a personal issue. My sister even returned to rent this house a couple of weeks later with more of her family.The owners were easy to work with and quite accommodating.

The communication between the property manager and myself was amazing! Have great ideas/information about that area.

Steps outside were difficult. Upstairs cold. Shower water lukewarm. One way very, very busy street. Over the top traffic noise. MSD closed the one way road to the house and it took us 1.5 hours to get back. Parking a pain. Two doors down. Neighbor questionable. Dishwasher broken. 4 spoons, limited silverware. No place comfortable to sit. Supplies good. We are older, not a good experience.
