The pics of the property are exceptionally well done. The home looks spacious in a woodsy setting. It’s actually very small, offering a full bed in a studio apartment setting that includes an efficiency kitchen, very large table and small couch, and a separate bedroom that fits a double bed and not much else. There’s very little unpacking room and a teeny-tiny bathroom. There may be a loft bedroom but it was sealed up and seemed to primarily be used for storage. Not what we needed for 4 adults. The setting was unexpected-it’s literally in a suburban back yard-with the windows of the rental directly facing the windows of owners home. We were forced to close the blinds for the entire stay to avoid being on constant display. This might be right for a couple with fewer inhibitions, but was not comfortable for 4 adults including my daughter and her fiancé.

This place was very nice. Not super Clean, but cozy and nice. Communication with helga was easy and efficient.

Pre-trip communication with Helga was excellent! She provided some restaurant options, two of which we tried and they were very good. The cottage was easily located and is very unique, both inside and outside. Some nice touches were washcloths, a hairdryer, and fresh Icelandic bread. Improvements could be made, though, on the following: The shower doors didn't close entirely, so water leaked outside of it. The drain had a sharp rubber piece sticking up which hurt when stepped on. Shampoo and soap dispensers weren't filled. Our 31-year-old son slept in the loft which was very small and somewhat claustrophobic. We strongly recommend installing a carpet runner or railing on those steep stairs. They seemed dangerous to all of us. In the bedroom, there's no room at the foot of the beds so you must climb over the person sleeping on the outside bed. I opted to sleep on the bed in the main living area.

We loved this place! What a sweet cabin in a great part of town! We wish we could have stayed longer!

Cottage was in a nice location and clean. Kitchenette was adequate. Was a little too small for our family of 4 with two teens, but would likely be fine for fewer people or younger kids. Easy check-in and orientation video from host. Parking available at residence.

This is a very cute and cozy wood cottage in a fun town. The Owner was very good about communicating with us. The cottage was clean and very well stocked. Very close to Highway 1. You will enjoy your stay here!

Very nice cottage with so many things to do nearby! Helga’s cottage was exactly as described. All the amenities a person might need for a several-day stay. Easy to access and the instructions for arrival/departure were very clear. When visiting the Golden Circle- stay here!

This cabin a small unit in the backyard of someone's home. It is everything that is promised and the unit was clean and well cared for. Just be aware it is in a residential area.

The property was just like the pictures except it was even better. It was cozy, quaint and beautifully decorated inside and out. It is perfectly located for hiking, walking and exploring. So glad we found this oasis on our adventure to Iceland!

It was a lovely little home for weary travelers. We hated to have to get up and leave so quickly. The host was easy to communicate with and left us snacks for our arrival. She had everything we could possibly need.

Great location for where we came from and were going onto. Cute cottage, had what we needed for our stay. Easy to find, checkin, bedding, plenty of towels, clean and cozy! She also had some bread and butter for us to enjoy when we got there. Got lots of info for food, activities, sights from the owner ahead of time. My son left his AirPods behind in the upstairs loft and the owner found them and came all the way out to us in Reyk to drop them off!! Above and beyond!! Thank you for making it such a great stay!

Relaxing stay for our first day in Iceland. We flew all night and were happy to have a cozy cottage to sleep in. The only downfall was the fridge didn’t seem to be working but we were only there one day.

The cabin was lovely, evidently they are not prepared for 7 day rental because we were given one towel per person and no way to do laundry. When renting the cabin I didn’t realize we would only have access to half of the loft which seemed very unfair since we rented the whole cabin. There was no broom for sweeping There was no way to keep ice we asked the owner and she didn’t have a cooler or ice chest for us to store ice so we had to purchase ice everyday Other than that we did fine

What a wonderful host and cozy cabin we were lucky enough to enjoy during our stay in Iceland. The pictures of the cabin are accurate and my friend and I enjoyed the bread that was left for us to enjoy. The place was very clean and had everything that we needed. We stayed for one night and the beds were super comfortable. The cabin is about 5-6 minutes away from a postoffice, bakery (yummy) and grocery store. You could not ask for a better location or a better host. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house was great for a family of 5. We were able to make our own meals, and the location was great for seeing all the Western, and Southern Iceland sights. We would stay here again in the future.

We picked this town as a stopover between the Golden Circle and the Ring Road and this cottage was quiet and comfortable and perfectly sized for a family of four for that purpose, with the added bonus of relatively dark bedrooms in the midnight sun. As others have mentioned it was an easy walk to a great pizza/brewery place in town for dinner. The only tiny disappointment is that other reviewers all mentioned a fresh baked loaf of bread being provided for breakfast. While that’s not officially in the property listing, there was a sign in the cottage inviting us to enjoy it so I guess it was supposed to be there... just a small thing, but maybe if you’re staying here just don’t plan for that to be your breakfast!

Cute cabin and walking distance to restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!

Lovely Summer house perfect for a couple of days . The bread is a lovely and welcoming touch thank you . Plenty of room for all the family . Clean , plenty of towels and extras . Easy to follow access instructions . Minutes away from local amenities . Stunning scenery and walks . Very cosy and great refuge when the weather turns windy and cold .

Convenient to many south Iceland natural wonders. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Cottage was great! Close to hiking trails and hot springs feed creek. Helga was very responsive and all went well.

We had a wonderful stay in the "Beautiful Summerhouse". The little wooden house has all the comforts you need for a pleasant stay - comfortable beds, plenty of kitchen supplies, complimentary coffee and tea, and even freshly baked bread! We almost hated to leave but Iceland has too much to explore to stay inside. Helga is very responsive and left plenty of good information for us to utilize. We would definitely come to stay here again and we would highly recommend Helga's home to anyone coming to the area. Hveragerði is a great little town with many sites to explore.

This was a lovely property with easy access to the Golden Circle and the South Coast. Very good communication with management. They had a small hot loaf of bread in the apartment upon check in. It was just my son and I but was large enough for a small group. It lived up to the photos posted.

We so enjoyed our stay at Helga’s - the cottage is sweet and peaceful and her hospitality was very welcoming. The town had some great restaurants (highly recommend the pizza place!), and my husband enjoyed a hike into the hills at midnight, and had plenty of company up there.
