This lovely home is quite large. We came here to end our 11 day vacay to rest for a couple of days!! We did just that! We used Instacart to order in snacks and food to cook.
Such hospitable husband and wife team, who greeted us with banana bread and outside as well after we settled in!
It was obvious they cared about us having a wonderful stay!
I chose to read a book rather than get in the lake, but another day and I might have!
I keep thinking of the word spacious! With the living room/sitting room at the entrance of the house, and family/livingroom with many places to sit there is a place for a good sized family to stay here, spread out in different rooms as needed, and outdoors, at the lake, in the lake or walking in this very walkable neighborhood! One of the safest places I've stayed at!
Cupboards are stocked with other spices, and canned foods as well!
You get a lot here, and I highly recommend you consider making this 'your place' if you are looking for lakeside, family friendly lake time, a place to relax or burn off some energy!! Whether rainy or sunny, you have a great place to have your home away from home!

This was a perfect retreat to relax, unwind and de-stress. The house was exactly what we needed while in town. Perfect location to downtown Manteno, the beach, and so many restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a relaxing and comfortable stay with everything we could ever need. It allowed us the opportunity to see many family members while visiting while have all the comforts of home. Wonderful property. Very clean & Very quiet during my stay. The owners made check in and check out painless and extremely easy. The downtown and beach club areas are within walking distance and are really cool :) , I definitely will be staying here again on any business or family trips.

Since I can't travel more than ~ 1 hour, due to health issues, this was the greatest vacation we can do. A great shutout to the owner for all the special touches to make our vacation fabulous and memorable. This is a very special lake side vacation with all the trimmings and a lovely community with weekend events. Thank for letting us stay at your place. We will remember this one forever.

Great experience. This cottage is special. It has fantastic history. The lake is gorgeous. Beds were very comfortable. We are very grateful for the care put into this experience. Homemade banana bread to greet you. Then to come back after a long day to the outside set up. Very grateful.

This house is so cute! There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and visit with each other. The fire pit was perfect! The banana bread was delicious (can I have the recipe?!?). Manteno is adorable- we walked to a pizza place and out for breakfast. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful, fun stay! Everyone agreed it was one of our best vacations! We found so much to do but we really enjoyed the yard and waterfront with all the toys. Will be back for sure!!

We enjoyed being able to use the yard for games and a bonfire. We also loved the boats and fishing gear provided.
We would suggest a few more baking sheet pans for cookies, etc. Also, we would have like the door on the main floor to stay shut.

Everything we needed was provided for in this very nice cottage located on the water. The location was convenient to downtown eateries, lounges and shopping. Oktoberfest festivities were festive and entertainment abundant to pick from. The bedding and furniture were all comfortable, and of appreciable quality. All in all we would recommend this property.

I stayed at this property with my mom, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. The house was clean, spacious with comfortable beds, nice common areas and a great view of a small lake from the backyard. It was very well equipped with essentials, paper products, linens, etc. The neighborhood was quiet (except a few passing trains) and we felt very safe. The hosts were gracious without being intrusive. We felt very welcome. My only negative note is that the two upstairs bedrooms are linked. You have to walk through the queen bedroom to enter the second and there is only a curtain instead of a door between them. In other words privacy could be an issue for some renters. This aspect of the top floor was not shown in the photos or text provided. Still, I would stay there again!

We were very pleased with everything. we came to fish and were not disappointed. We only do dock fishing and Ron gave a lot of tips for the best catch. It was clean, quiet and relaxing. And the banana bread was a delicious surprise.

Grace Place was beautiful. The cottage was comfortable and well stocked. We had a very relaxing weekend. The rain cut our fishing time short but allowed us time to relax together as a family. We enjoyed the time with our grand daughter, son and daughter-in-law. We recommend PJ's for ice cream if you stay and the Mayberry restaurant has very good food.

Born and raised in this town, it was great to re-experience the
warm, breezy, summer nights, and the very hot days.
The lake is a great view all day and allowed a little exercise with the paddle boats.

Tranquil Lakeside Setting
Grace Place was great and so was Manteno. We really enjoyed our stay. Annette and Rondy were terrific hosts. The property was exactly as presented on VRBO. If you are looking for a brake from the big city this one might just be for you!

Cousin gathering
Us cousins get together every year and have been staying at Grace's place for last few years and then previously others owned by the same people. Not only is the home absolutely wonderful but the hosts are as well. We are able to relax and enjoy our time with each other each and every time!

Wonderful weekend retreat
I loved my stay! The home was clean, cozy, and such a warm atmosphere with everything I needed for a great stay. The hosts were super thoughtful and kind, available for any questions, and I really appreciated the kind touches they left like the vase of fresh flowers, homemade banana bread, and a kitchen stocked with a coffee pot, all the pots and pans and utensils I needed to make myself at home.

Great little cottage
This lakeside cottage was great for our long weekend stay. The house is older but was nicely decorated and comfortable. We really appreciated all of the thoughtful little touches, like the complementary coffee/tea and even the homemade banana bread waiting for us. We loved sitting out by the lake and enjoying the view when the weather was nice.
The house was easy to get to in a nice neighborhood. The village of Manteno is very idyllic with a nice little playground a few blocks away and a cute Main Street with some restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay again if we’re in the area!

My family and I were in town celebrating my mother in laws birthday. Grace place was a great stay. The lovely host even made homemade banana nut bread, which was delicious! There were many accommodations and the kitchen was well stocked! I hope to come back soon!

fantastic stay
We choose this place as the base for our trips into chicago and michigan. The hosts are fantastic and think of everything. The kitchen is well stocked so you can actually cook and not buy all the little things like salt, seasoning, ect. We loved the paddle boats and the beds were very comfortable. Will definately look into again if back that way

Teacher Getaway
The host was very available before, during, and after our stay. The house was super cute and we loved the backyard with the little dock, paddle boat, and firepit. The stairs to two of the bedrooms are very steep, and may not work for someone who has walking issues, but the downstairs bedroom is darling and so comfy! We enjoyed a day in Chicago and the use of the cute lake community area.

The property felt warm, cozy, and welcoming from the minute we stepped foot through the door. The personal touches are felt throughout the home. Absolutely loved the family room with the fireplace. And Annette’s homemade banana bread was the BEST banana bread I have ever had! Will be staying here every time we come to visit my daughter at ONU!!!
