Tamaño de la cama , limpieza , orden , internet , mini refri, el coffee maker no era muy bueno porque usa café en bolsa tipo bolsa de té … pero nada del otro mundo . Y hay Micro ondas , insonorizada y el aire acondicionado del tipo de antaño pero en muy buen estado y no es ruidoso … Pantalla plana de 32’ y el jacuzzi externo muy bueno pero no funcionaba el motor

Hotel is a little dated..but going thru repairs..

I stayed there twice in June 2023. The first stay was an upper floor room overseeing the pool with good wifi.

The second stay was a lower floor room not facing the pool and the wifi was very poor: one or two bars and kept dropping out altogether every 30 mins making working online or watching video impossible. The Irazu is the down-market half of a Holiday Inn. Pay the extra and stay at the Holiday Inn. Irazu is a little down-at-heel: a bit grubby, needs a major refurb.

The staff are very nice and welcoming. The pool is nice with hanging egg chairs and small cabana type beds.

The room is very basic. The bed is comfortable and it has a TV, but the bathroom is not nice at all and all the lights and switches seem quite industrial. It isn’t what I expected from such a highly rated hotel and the price I paid for it. The breakfast is also not that good.

This hotel is old and dated. Half of the hotel is a Holiday Inn which has been updated. The Irazu half has not been updated. The entrance is in a parking lot and was difficult for our driver to find. The carpets are old and it's difficult to roll your luggage. We requested a microwave in our room. It took 6 hours for them to bring one. The staff was very friendly, but very unorganized. They had difficulty checking you in and out. They did not keep track of the vouchers for the airport shuttle. After waiting for the driver, he arrived in a van which would not accommodate the people with vouchers. He had to leave and go get a larger vehicle. This took over 30 minutes. When I inquired about the breakfast I was told that it was $6 per person. When I went to pay I was charged $12 per person. The buffet was ok if you like cold fake eggs.

Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. hallway was dirty. one external wall had flies all over it. Staff kept making mistakes and could answer basic questions. Water wasn’t hot. The room had a weird musty smell to it.

It was a last minute booking.

The floor where our room was located had an awful misty foot odor smell. our room also smelled. we arrived late and had an early morning shuttle to take. otherwise I would have complained.

Have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past 9 years or so and have always found it ideal, but that was before they sold the best part of building to Holiday Inn. You now need to know it is necessary to walk through the Holiday Inn reception area and then wind your way through another 120 yards of hallway to the Irazu Hotel reception area, essentially created from what one guesses to be a former storage area. There is little signage to indicate it is there and no signage whatsoever on the building's exterior. If you need a cab, be sure to tell them to pick you up in the Gold's Gym parking lot. Beyond this confusion, I was not given the room I reserved and the room I was assigned was outdated and in need of maintenance (the bathroom sink was reluctant to drain and the one light in the room -- an old table lamp -- flickered on and off due to a loose wall socket).

The hotel breakfast was loaded with Flys and bees, the selection of food and location was terrible.
