The hotel is very impressive, and the staffs and cleaners are really honest people, I forgot my jewelries when I checked out and one of the staffs met me at the reception to return it. . made my day !!
2.5 / 5.0
Hotel is very nice looking and has much going for it but is let down by a number of, in the main, small points.
Rooms are comfortable and of a reasonable size. Food is ok and a reasonable selection with nice omelets.
Most of the staff, including the MD, are very nice and clearly doing there best but are let down by a few who show such attitude to make you feel unwelcome. The star for rudeness is the Reception Manager who should never be allowed out in public to deal with customers. Rude and unhelpful are the nicer words for this person.
Water went off in my room on my last day so no shower or even flushing the toilet was possible. Told reception but nothing happened so when checked out they just said someone dealing later in the day. Not really helpful to me when leaving.

From the security, the porter who took our luggages to our room 507, to the guy at the reception on the 4/11/22 in the evening were all professional. The breakfast buffet were okay.
The time spent at the reception took over 27mins just to confirm the booking made on Booking.com and check me in.
Complained about about the beddings were smelling damp and requested for them to be changed on extension 100, a lady with a non Nigerian accent answered and told me someone would be coming over to Rm 507, but no one turned up. I had to keep all the pillows on the bed away.
Furthermore, the TV in the room did not have enough channels to watch. Complained and several technicians and IT can up to my room to check on the TV but never yielded and positive result.
On the 5/11 at around 10ish at the point of confirming my booking for breakfast for an adult and a child age 13, the lady told me that the breakfast booking for room 507 was only meant for an adult to her that was an error. She asked for my child who is a big growing teenager looked at him from head to toe😃and said “this is an adult not a child” I got angry but remained calm. She then told me to go to the reception to rectify this error, told her I wasn’t going that it was her job to get this mistake sorted she later did and apologised.

The hotel looks impressive from the OUTSIDE
The room is so small and stuffy. And you can't escape the stuffy smell from the pillow and mattress and which permeates the entire room.

The porters were wonderful and so friendly.
Nice pool area and comfortable beds
The food was awful and expensive.
Check in was also a mess.
Arrived to be told the room we booked wasn't available for the first night of the stay and had to pay extra for a different room despite the fault not being ours.

The location was good
My stay was awful. They had plumbing issues that took over 5 hours to fix and the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly. The breakfast which is usually nice was not what it used to be. No variety and the dinner at lounge was nothing to write home about.

The room and accommodation surrounding
The fact I paid for my room and for two persons breakfast.
I was rushing to work and I requested for a take out plate that I will pay for but the supervisor refused, I got angry and left the food I was eating.
It is totally wrong for a place I like staying hence my doubt if I will use Lilygate hotel.
I called for a bathrobe and I was totally pushed by saying I am coming, I am coming and still didn’t get what I wanted and I insisted that when booking online.
I guess there are people whom they give preferences

I had issues with my bill.
Thr hotels insisted on billing me in USD this thus pushed my bill above the naira value I booked with on booking .com which was very strange
My bill from booking.com was different from what I paid thr hotel which dud nit make any sense. The hotel said booking.com sent my reservation in usd. While what I got from booking.com was in naira
