The room was big, but dark. You may open window shutters but it will become hot as there are no windowpanes.
Breakfast was very good.
There is a very big and nice swimming pool.
I didn't like the location itself as it seems it doesn't offer basically any good dinner options in the close neighbourhood. The hotel offers a dinner option but in my option it is quite expensive, 10USD per person might be too much if you want to eat there every day.
In general, very good but in my opinion too expensive for what it offers.

The swimming pool was clean and big. Staff, especially Baba, was so helpful and attentive. Women of the house were kind and hospitable. We liked the garden too. We rented a scooter from them as the location is a bit tricky.
We were charged 10 dollars each for vegetarian curry. And it was the highest we paid in sri lanka.In the sheraton Hotel opposite the main road you can eat amazing curry for 1300 rupees each. That was really disappointing.

Sulalitha and his entire family are great hosts, very helpful, discreet and authentic.
The garden is well maintained and the bungalows are very spacious and clean.
What stood out the most was the delicious food, cooked according to my spice tolerance and a highlight of my short stay was the sunset catamaran ride on the river. I was looking for nature, peace and tranquillity and this is exactly the place where to find it. Hope to come back again!

We have returned to this hotel for the second time. Both times we felt as if we had not arrived at a hotel, but as guests. The hosts' hospitality and unobtrusive care made it possible to completely relax. Great attention to detail. The culinary skills of the hostess delighted us at breakfast, lunch and dinner, very tasty food and huge portions. We have never tasted such good food anywhere else in Sri Lanka. A wonderful large area surrounded by nature allowed us to feel the true beauty and authenticity of Sri Lanka. European perception of cleanliness and order.
We were very lucky - the hosts invited us to watch a night visit of a turtle on the coast nearby.
This hotel is the best choice in Sri Lanka, we hope we will have the opportunity to come back here again.

Highly recommended. The place is spectacular, the rooms are spacious, very clean and with an open bathroom, surrounded by nature. The garden and pool are very well maintained. The owners are great people, very friendly and nice. They welcomed us with great affection. The food they offered us was delicious. They gave us a tour with their catamaran on the river and accompanied us to visit the temple. We will repeat without a doubt.

Amazing setting next to a lagoon, 10min walk from the beach, in a beautiful surroundings with a 5 star comfort in the room and a Michelin star chef for the cooking. Property run by a local family that makes you feel part of it from the 1st day! amazing experience

Nice hotel in a beautiful location. Great swimming pool and wonderful massage. Food was also great. Staff helpful and friendly.

Boring location along the east coast but convenient for 1-2 nights when one reach/leave Sri Lanka. Good for relaxing not sightseeing!
Taxi fare from airport is a rip off (you pay half by using Uber) - our mistake we should have checked before booking the taxi from hotel

The Sunrise on the boat was so beautiful and the visit of the cinnamon farm very interesting

Nice and warm welcome ! Very good breakfasts and dinners..we were very quiet here and we will definitely come again.
Thanks for suggestion of best beaches and visits, we appreciate your kind drop on at railway station and for Mangroves discoveries.Especially the incredible Birds Island on sunset !

Almost everything ...the host are above par excellence. The food is top notch ...esp the way they serve it with individual attention . One of the best Srilankan food I have had . The staff ( are all extended family ) just brilliant . You want anything they do it for u with a huge grin on their face . The cabana we stayed in was brand new and that was exciting as well . ( we were the first guests in that !) From driving you around to actually coming with us as a guide while u sight see to taking us shopping giving us internal tips and suggestions helping us save money ....this family gets a perfect ten from me in their hospitality . So much so that we wanted to extend our stay , unfortunately they didn't have rooms available.
Keep up the good work and I certainly will make it back soon . Looking forward to staying with you guys again.
With two teenaged kids not having a tv in the room was tough ...although that's exactly what I enjoyed the most .
