We had a wonderful stay at Emma's house. It was convenient to everything and a nice quiet location.

This was a great property. It had a great view. You could see the lake and mountain. There's enough of a clearing with the trees in the front of the property for viewing the northern lights. The owner was fantastic and went well above and beyond when we had left an item there and can't express enough how grateful we were for that.

We had the most amazing stay here, incredible views, lovely hot tub, well equipped, clean, comfy beds and all amenities! We would definitely stay here again and the hosts, Emma and Oscar were super helpful, especially when we nearly got stuck in the snow! Thank you so much!!!

I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful this property is! We were very lucky to call this a homebase when the entire country was shut down due to the record breaking snowstorm. We are from Minnesota and have always dreamed of getting snowed in while on vacation! These gracious hosts reached out and offered to coordinate a plow so we could continue our many planned adventures in this winter wonderland. Other guests weren’t lying when they commented on viewing the northern lights from the hot tub. Breathtaking!

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in. The view is breath taking. The teenagers loved the hot pool. Such a georgeous home.

The house was so perfect, with an absolutely beautiful view. We loved our stay and relaxing in the evenings after our adventures during the day. We loved soaking in the hot tub at night. We only wished we had planned to stay longer! We would love to come back!!

Hostess did an excellent job with communication. The check-in process went smoothly. Written directions were provided from the airport (we, however, were coming from Reykjavik; our flight landed early morning and check-in wasn't until late afternoon, but were able to navigate there based on the directions; a set of directions from Reykjavik also may prove useful). The view from the house is absolutely stunning. The house itself is clean and well-maintained with a well-stocked kitchen. The coffee station was a great bonus. The plentiful bathrobes are also a nice addition. The house is located with an easy 15-20 minute-drive to Selfoss where you'll find a couple grocery stores, banks, and some restaurants. Golden circle attractions are also easy to navigate to from the house. The view and location again can't be beat. Do be aware, however, that the third bedroom isn't really a bedroom (no surprise to us, but I did want to point out). It's a wide hall between the master and the main living area. There's a door that shuts between the master and this area; however, there is no door to close between this area and the main living quarters, only a dark curtain. Therefore, any middle of the night trips to the main area from the master entail possibly disturbing those sleeping in the "hall" bedroom. Conversely, any tossing or just rolling over by the occupants of the set of bunk beds in the "hall" area (my 5'3"; 100 lbs. daughter slept in the bottom bunk) result in some pretty loud squeaking noises audible to the occupants of the master bedroom even with the door shut--just to point out if you're a light sleeper and plan to occupy either area. Also be aware that if you are occupying the master room or the "hall" area, you may be living out of your suitcase as there is no room for a dresser in the "hall" area and the armoire in the master is used as storage for extra linens. We weren't using the extra bed in the master or the top bunk in the "hall" area, so used those spaces as our dresser. Lastly, if you aren't aware, Icelandic weather is fickle, so if you're caught in a rainstorm or choose to brave the weather and come back to the house soaking wet, you will need to get creative as to how to dry any clothing you may need to wear the next day as there is no clothes dryer and laundry mats are not common- place in the country. A couple hours with the hair dryer and draping items over the radiators solved that issue for us.

This property was the perfect place for us to explore Iceland for the first time. We took day trips to Reykjavik, Vik, Hveragerdi, and Golden Circle. The view of the lake and mountain were wonderful and since we were there during mid June, the majestic mountain was there each evening and morning! The house was perfect for our needs, and Emma thought of everything to provide, right down to facial pads and q-tips. The espresso machine took a bit of a learning curve. The manual had instructions in 4+ languages, but none of them were English. We Googled a YouTube video that got us going, though. The hot tub was a welcomed place to relax after days of horse back riding, ATV'ing and hiking. Thank you, Emma, for making our Iceland vacation such a wonderful experience!

Loved this cottage in the middle of the golden circle. Amazing view which could also be enjoyed from the luxury of the hot tub. Easy reach of many of the main sights. Great facilities

We loved the place it was cozy and the view was beautiful with the mountain and the lake. It’s close to many of the tourist attractions and nature experiences.

The property didn’t disappoint and exceeded expectations. Arrived in the dark but directions were perfect. Woke up in the morning to amazing view. Every home comfort we needed and the perfect base to explore Golden Circle, Vik and Blacksand Beach and Blue Lagoon. Selffoss has everything you need for teenagers eating habits and only 20mins away. Iceland is breathtaking. We all loved it.

The property was beautiful and cozy. Directions and check in information from the owner made navigating and accessing the property very easy. We definitely enjoyed our stay and the amazing view of the lake and mountains.

We stayed there with my wife and our two kids in the summer of 2021 and it was an absolutely lovely time. The property itself was in good order, views over the lake were stunning and location wise it was absolutely fantastic. We had a great time exploring surroundings, but also it was located perfectly for day trips towards Vik with glacier walks and waterfalls within 1 hour as well as shopping trips in Reykjavik.

Very lucky to have stayed in this property and seen the northern lights.

Was absolutely blown away with this property from the moment we got there! The Views, the hot tub and the all the small detail which allowed for an amazing stay! We stayed here for Christmas and the property was decorated lovely with a Christmas tree and lights. The hot tub in the evenings with the view of the mountains was surreal and would only be a view I thought I would see on a postcode. Emma was always there to help if needed, will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Cozy, lovely cottage in a great location. It was so convenient to have a crib and high chair available for our baby, and the view of the snow-covered mountains and lake from the living room's big picture windows was just gorgeous. Emma was an attentive host and her home is bright and comfortable. So glad we opted to stay here instead of booking a hotel!

We LOVED our stay at the Lake House. Great location with privacy and beautiful lake views yet close enough to town for supplies. Excellent location for exploring the south coast and the golden circle. Comfortable rooms with a well equipped kitchen. Emma thought of every detail from games and toys for the children and terry robes for all, to the magic of string lights around the window. Our stay was perfect. We hope to return someday.

This was our first time to Iceland and we wanted a quiet place with a view. This property did not disappoint! The view of the lake encompassed by the serenity of the cabin was perfect. We couldn’t ask for more. Thanks Emma for having us. :)

Very cute cabin in the center of activities! Wonderful view of the lake and the hot tub was very welcoming. We got soaked at the national park and it was amazing to have a house so close that we could go back to and regroup before heading back out to Geiser and Gulfoss.

Our family of four stayed in this home for 3 nights during our recent visit to Iceland. The property’s location was great, with easy access to many golden circle attractions. The home is just as pictured, with hosts who care about the details. It was well stocked with condiments and cooking supplies.

Great location - the views from the hot tub could not be beat, very private and extremely close to key Golden Circle features (Gullfoss, Geysir, National Park) as well as a great home base for a ~2 hour drive to Vik and destinations on the way. Perfect for 4 adults and can easily accommodate 3-4 kids in addition ~

We have had a fantastic week in Iceland. The lake house was a lovely place to stay, very well equipped, and a great location looking over the lake on the Golden Circle. There were 5 of us staying, our 9 year old twins slept in the bunk beds which are in a curtained off area between the hall and the master bedroom, which suited them perfectly. Communication with the property owner was excellent. If you arrive and the gate at the bottom of the driveway is locked then you can just walk up to the house and get the key anyway. Very highly recommended!

We loved staying at the lakehouse. This was a very peaceful setting, beautiful view and convenient to visit many sights in Iceland. Comfortable for our family of 5 to stay in. It's within easy distance to Selfoss for dining and grocery stores.

Everything was great. Location, setting, ease of checking in. If you are looking for tranquility, this is it. Even though this house is on a drive with other houses , you can not see a single house in any direction. Homeowner was friendly and responsive as well.

This little house had a spectacular view and was in a perfect location on the Golden Circle. It was central to almost everything we wanted to do. The house itself was lovely and very cozy. It had everything you could need for a nice stay. The only complaint we had is that the third bedroom wasn’t actually a bedroom. This was misleading. The third bedroom with the bunk beds was a hall or closet that you have to walk through to get to the first bedroom. This was quite inconvenient for us as we don’t want to walk through each other’s bedrooms to go to bed at night and as the third bedroom was only the size of a small hall there really enough space in the area. This bedroom also didn’t have a door but rather a curtain to separate it from the main house. I don’t really think this house should be listed as a three bedroom as the bunk beds aren’t in a real room they are in a curtained hall. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay here a lot and the owner was very thoughtful. I would recommend this house for families that are close and don’t mind walking through and being in each other’s sleeping spaces.

We had such a wonderful stay here! Our family of four which includes two young children (ages 5 & 3) felt so comfortable and it had all we needed. The location is so perfect for numerous sights and excursions to see Iceland (Gullfoss waterfall, Geyser, Thingvellir National park, snorkeling, horseback riding, Selfoss, Laugvartn, Crater lake, Blue LGoon, Reykjavík). Highlights for us at the cottage were the hot tub and espresso maker. :) there was plenary of space with an extra room to spare. And gorgeous views from every window. We stayed here while visiting Iceland in March. The place is perfect, right on the Golden Circle, and the view is incredible. We would definitely stay here again! Ryan
