Good location eith easy access to the motorway, excellent breakfast with lots of choice and really enjoyed the leisure facilities.

Is normally quite expensive and could only afford to go this time as there was an offer on.

Bedroom - no AC. Couldn’t have window open due to traffic noise and too warm with window closed. WiFi went off around 10:30pm Mattress was poor quality

I was given food I am intolerant to despite clearly stating when ordered. I double checked when food arrived and the service staff checked with kitchen who said it was fine. It wasn’t. I told the duty manager who investigated, found I was given the food I’m intolerant to but didn’t feedback until I asked next day. I was ill all night and next day. I was not offered for the meal to be taken off bill but of more concern, this is worrying for those with severe food allergies.

Location

Lumpy bed, had to eat in the foyer for breakfast as had a dog. Kids making more of a mess than the dog.

Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds and excellent shower. Housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly. Location is excellent for travelling around Somerset and devon.

Breakfast service was poor. Although the hot and cold buffet food was of a reasonable standard, the staff were very slow to replenish dishes, juices and glasses. Tables were left with remains of food as staff just walked past or stood around chatting. Both coffee/tea machines had messages warning that they needed cleaned and emptied but staff simply switched off the messages. Bar staff were attentive and friendly and bar food was reasonable. Prices for glasses of wine were high even by hotel standards.

Swimming pool

Food. Soggy and very mustardy rarebit with dried out inedible leaves. Dry and tasteless scampi with bulllet peas. If we weren't so tired it all should have gone back. No one looking after dining room so we had to find someone at the bar to serve us.

Convenience to entertainment nearby

Toilet continually flushing. But Zak holiday inn employee at 01.30am immediately came to my assistance and fixed! In a minute or so. Well done!
