The carts that take you to your room on arrival are a nice touch. Breakfast is quite nice. The restaurant plus extensions, which include bonfire and shisha area, are good for socialising.

It really struck me that there didn't seem to be any black workers outside blue-collar jobs. All the senior people I saw were of Indian descent. This is a hotel in Uganda The hot water wasn't running in my first room, and then AC wasn't in the second. I got tired of having to change rooms The pool is nice and massive but quite far from the rooms. The meal ticket thing felt like being back at school. I'm sure there are better ways to validate breakfast eligibility.

The swimming pool is always lovely - although it could definitely be kept cleaner, particularly the kids pool.

I've been to Speke many times and this time was by far the worst. Due to the president staying, getting in was a nightmare - we had to go somewhere else to get a pass, then go through the staff quarters and our car was really far from reception and the room. The breakfast wasn't great - we had to wait 30 mins before being told we couldn't order from the menu, but the only option was buffet. I asked 3 times for eggs...I guess everyone was busy and stressed, but the atmosphere just wasn't nice. Army everywhere, too. I really think the hotel should have shut down for the public if they knew they'd be too busy to do things properly - or at least informed us on booking so we'd have been prepared. Very disappointed.

The room had a power surge a whole night. Room was noisy . Power centre was noisy. Cockroach in room.

Excellent and extensive breakfast buffet with dishes for all tastes. Staff extremely helpful and hospitable. Room was well appointed with very comfortable bed with a mosquito net. 2 bottles of 500ml complimentary bottled water daily.

No direct pathway from rooms to the lower grounds and infinity pool.

Fantastic food, scenery and apartments. Amazing helpful service, would definitely stay here again.

At checkin, very disorganized and unprofessional. My booking couldn't be seen. Didn't get what I paid for. I paid for a room with the lake view, unfortunately was told that they were already fully booked. Checkin stuff do not pay attention to details. The restaurant is a distance (separate building) from the rooms, you have to always walk there, to make matters worse if it rains.

The pools were nice and very clean…great for swimming. The food is also very good.

The WiFi never worked in our room, despite asking about it several times. We had to go down to the lobby to use network. It was also difficult to find restaurants, pools, etc. because the property is so big. A map of the property would have been helpful.

amazing amenities and the rooms are very spacious. our room faced the marina which was breathtaking

there is a bit of a delay in room service however we did stay at the hotel during the Christmas/ NY period which is extremely busy so it’s understandable

The rooms were lovely and the complex as a whole is beautiful.

Front desk is a little slow. There is no ATM at the Resort only money exchange (at front desk). The bar and restaurant service is a little slow considering the resort appeared nowhere capacity, just ticking over.

food other than breakfast was 1* hassled for carrying a camera booking on line 165 a day B&B - I was told everyone else paid 130 full board
