Only downfall is need to taxi to town if going back and forth which can cost a lot of you need to do it often. Also there are a lot of dogs which we don't mind but barking often in night

I did not like air holes in cabins, hot water running out and muddy walks to and from cabin to main area.

The Pinohermoso Hotel is just that - beautiful. It is a working dairy farm with a good size river on the long driveway to the main highway. The views are great; the garden is a delight. The interesting guests are from around the world - Colombians, Americans and the usual assortment of German, Dutch, French, and Spanish you encounter in places outside the normal tourist venues in Latin America. The two spectacular Cascadas de Cocorra waterfalls are within easy walking distance. About 15-20 minutes away by car is Valle de Cocorra Wax Palms national park. Hernan, the manager, speaks excellent English and is friendly and helpful about the local surroundings and how Colombia works. The accommodations are rustic, but comfortable enough. At times the Wifi is iffy, but that is to be expected. Breakfast is excellent. Dinner usually is take-out from restaurants and is good enough. Lunch has to be ordered, but when I explained I didn't know Hernan had staff cook a delicious lunch. It is a little difficult if you do not arrive by car, but transportation can be arranged. Since it rains a lot in the Cafetera, the rubber boots and umbrella Pinohermoso provides were welcome. I stayed 3 days in January which was just right. I recommend staying here, then moving to Salento for a few days for a different experience.

Beautiful, unique farm (with cows & horses) - 20 minutes from Salento. We stayed in the private chalet and it was a truly wonderful experience. The views are absolutely gorgeous, it feels like you're completely alone and the bed is super comfy. It does get a bit chilly in the night, but there are enough blankets to keep you warm. Don't expect super hot water, but the hot tub is very nice after a long hike and the view from it is incredible. The owner helped us with everything we needed for the hike (boots, rain coats, walking sticks, etc.) which made our hike experience 10 times better. Would definitely recommend!

The common area is a bit chilly which makes it not too inviting to hang out in.

Amazing nature. really friendly and helpful staff. Hernan helped us arrange tours and have very good suggestions. the breakfast was very nice with a buffet of fruits. in the evening we ask for a tasty chicken soup that was not in the menu and that was not a problem for the senora in the kitchen. A warm bath under the stars was something extra.

We had a great stay here and would've stayed longer! Very spacious rooms, very clean and excellent comfort. Very warm and friendly owner and staff, they try to help you plan your stay and even offer transfers to closeby attractions. Quiet and beautiful environment. Very fresh and good breakfast. If you want to get away from the crowds and get immersed in nature being able to still visit the touristic attractions in the area, this is the place to go to!

We had a wonderful stay, the high light of our stay in Colombia! Very peaceful environment, wonderful and generous people, we felt so welcome. The breakfast was Delicious and the dogs and all the animals so lovely. The cabins are very private and the hottub was great after a long day of hiking. The view is fantastic. the hotel is located in the most beautiful surroundings and if you like animals, you’re in for a treat. the food was delicious, the staff amazing and in general it was just very relaxed, safe and free to be there.

the hotel is very much in nature, so be prepared you might have a few bugs in your room.

oh my gosh - what can I say about this place!?!? honestly I don’t even know where to begin — we’re still talking about it. By far, the highlight of our trip to Colombia. like - I can’t even begin to describe. — first, the staff! they treat you like family. From Hernan and Marta - the ones we interacted with the most - to Julian, the owner - who gave us rides to places which was not his job. i mean, this isn’t a hotel, this is an experience. You’re staying here as like one of the destinations on your trip. All day, my almost 2-year old was just like “neigh neigh moo moo” walking by the cows and the horses. we kept missing the cow feeding time sadly — but they arranged so my son could pet the new 2-day old calf 💜 it was exceptional

again this isn’t a hotel - so don’t come expecting all the comforts — we loved everything… but I would probably add a space heater or something to the cabins. it gets COOOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDDD at night! it is also a bit far from Salento - if you want to be closer. we didn’t mind cuz the experience of it — but it’s like a 20-min drive and $10 cab ride more or less each way. But again, it’s its own destination — so that’s what you’re going for.

Very well located on lots of acres on a working cow farm, close to the Cocora valley. Delicious breakfast (different things from day to day) and optional fast food in the evening. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful, even helped us to sort out problems with our next accommodation. Gave great recommendations for walks and restaurants. Chalet was beautiful with a very comfy and wide bed. Nice to sit in your private bathtub outside.

Not much, a water cooker in the room would be nice (as there are tea and coffee supplies in the room), the bathroom area doesn’t offer that much privacy.

Great welcome, Hernan made our trip perfect. One of the nicest people we’ve met. Thanks again for everything! Location is great to visit the Cocora Valley, a bit secluded from Salento but worth it. Very beautiful and serene.

Our stay at Pino Hermoso exceeded our expectations and we simply cant wait to go back. It is a wonderful alternative to the hectic Salento. The owner was really nice and drove us to the Cocora Valley in the morning to avoid the crowds. We did not have a car but it was not a problem at all to get to the hotel as there are local and safe taxis available. The food is delicious and home made (with vegan or vegeterian options), rooms are spacious and clean, staff attentive and helpful. If you are searching for peaceful place to relax and enjoy the nature and local hospitality it is definitely a place to go.

Nicely located hotel. Away from main road. Quiet and nice. Very nice owner- helped us out as much he can- respect. Even pick up us from road - it was too many cars on street to get willie jeep. Very recommended.

Dinner only fast food- but even that one was ok. If you dont want it- just go to the city.

We liked the rustic farm experience compared to staying in Salento. The eco hotel was also very close to the wax palm trees of Valle de Cocora. We got to milk a cow! We had rented a car as we heard the gravel road up to the property was bumpy and some transport won’t go up there. We saw other guests use classic Jeep Willyz as transport. The Chandelier Pine tree is a landmark destination in itself. Lots of birds, too!

Internet was slow and intermittent. It was a good place to disconnect and unplug, however we needed to reliably book our next flights and accommodations in a Salento café.
