This was the perfect spot to use as a base for all our activities. We rented 3 houses all were good but by far this was the best. The kitchen was very well equipped. A truly wonderful deck. Hot tub and sauna were amazing. Sitting in the sauna with a full glass wall with a beautiful Mountain View was great. We chose to meet at this house for evening meals because it was perfect for gathering . Plenty of parking -(this comment is for the guys ). We had a couple of issues which usually happens anytime you rent for a few weeks. Thorensteinn the owner was Uber responsive and met our needs immediately. If you are hesitating about renting, don’t worry you will love the place. Thanks for a truly amazing stay Thorensteinn.

Could have used more information in writing in the house on systems/appliances (e.g., washer/dryer, dishwasher). The door between bathroom and two downstairs BRs needs to be shaved; it is sticking. Given such small BRs on the main level, there should at least be some shelves and/or more hooks. The sofa is REALLY worn; otherwise, the common area is excellent and attractive for a group of our size.

Great property with excellent amenities! Clean and comfortable for large families. We really enjoyed our stay. Close to most of the attractions in and around the golden circle.

The house was a good size for the 5 of us, kitchen/ dining area was a lovely space to hang out at. However, there was no-where (besides someone's bedroom) to hang out and watch a movie together, although the blueprint of the second floor shows a movie room type space, but in reality there are multiple beds in there and a small couch. The house really needed a thorough clean, fixing of blinds, pocket doors and shower doors, as only one person could shower at a time with privacy although the house advertises as having 2 showers. There was also no-where to hang/ store clothes in the main bedroom, which meant living out of the suitcase for the week. The wardrobe was filled top to bottom with spare linen. If anyone books the house with a baby, please note there is no bathtub, although a cot is provided.

We stayed here six nights while exploring Iceland in March. It was just the four of us, so we could have gone with a smaller place, but this house was just perfect for us. We loved the cozy living room in the evenings and the kitchen had everything we needed to have breakfast and a few dinners at home. The beds were comfortable and we LOVED that the floors were so warm. We made use of the hot tub most evenings. Thor was great to communicate with and the perfect host. Would love to come back again!

The house is beautiful and just as described. The owner was very communicative and overall it was a great experience. The only gripe I have is with the hot tub. You have to heat it up with a hose that runs hour water from a sink in a nearby shed. In cold weather, this doesn't bring in enough hot water to actually heat it. The hot tub was the main reason we rented the house, so this was disappointing, but the rest of the house is beautiful, the location was great, and the sauna was fantastic. If they can figure out the hot tub, I'd stay again. If that's not important to you, or having a sauna use good enough, definitely stay here.

The owners are so helpful and responded to any queries before and during the stay very promptly. The property is beautiful, clean and made a wonderful base to enjoy the beauty of Iceland for my wife's 50th birthday.

The home has everything you need to easily cook meals in. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the living room with large windows and a fireplace. Great location for visiting the golden circle and an easy day trip to Vik. Perfect way to relax after busy days hiking. When we return we will definitely stay at this home again.

Nine of stayed here for 8 nights and it was awesome. Nine people fit perfectly; could have had another teen or small children. We had an amazing time and felt very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights one night!! The home had everything we needed in terms of the kitchen being stocked, towels, bedding, etc. I would highly recommend. We also didn't realize the great proximity to so many sights so we were pleasantly surprised how close things were. We loved going into Selfoss to shop and eat on a few occasions.

Very comfortable for our family. Thorsteinn was a great host, very responsive and answered all of the quesions we had. The house is perfect for day trips along the south. 45 min to Reykavik, 1 hour to Blue Lagoon, 2 hours to Vik and the Black Sand Beach. (Waterfalls along the way) Saw the Northern Lights on most clear nights, simply amazing. Selfoss is about a 15 minute ride where you can get everything you need. Can't recommend Iceland or this property enough!

It is a very nice property- a little attention to a few details might be in order soon - overall a good place for a larger group - we would stay there again!

We enjoyed the large, clean, modern, space away from the city lights. Our party of nine adults fit well with the size of the property. We stayed four nights, taking advantage of the location for daytrips toward Vik, to the Westman Islands, and Geysir/Gulfoss/Secret Lagoon. Being close to Selfoss provided us with restaurant options. Host Thorsteinn made checkin and checkout easy. He also quickly replied to our questions. We would happily stay again with a similar group.

An amazing property perched in the rugged landscape. Comfortable, spacious and clean. All the amenities you could need to stay and relax. Great bedrooms, stunning views, excellent hot tub. Overall a perfect place to stay in Iceland.

After visiting all of the beautiful sites Iceland has to offer, we were able to come “home” each night to a spacious house right in the middle of peace and quiet. The response from the owners with a couple questions we had were very fast. Thank you again for opening up your property to our family.

The property was very beautiful and clean. Thorsteinn was easy to get ahold of and very helpful the few times we needed his help. Guest house heat was too hot and we could not turn down heating. Location very nice and secluded but also close enough to town for restaurants & grocery store. Was close enough to many fun things to do and see.

Loved the area and layout of the home for the 9 people we had there.

This property was great for our daughters, their husbands and grandchildren. They rated this as the best three days of our ten days trip. Everything went smoothly and I would recommend this to anyone planning a trip to Iceland.

We had a wonderful family vacation in Selfoss. The house was very comfortable for our family of 8. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate many dinners at home. Having several grocery stores close by was a plus. The location was also perfect for touring the Golden Circle.

Thorstein was responsive and great. Had some minor issues that were quickly addressed including replacing the gas grill igniter (asked for a lighter and instead he came and replaced the part). Should understand that the hot tub is not filtered or treated so algae does grow fast but if you enjoy swimming in the fresh hot springs this is no different and the water is constantly turned over so clean and nice and hot! Showering is a bit tight with the one bathroom with a shower. The outside shower feels a bit exposed with no curtain and neighbors house across the street (but great for rinse off). But we had 10 adults and totally made it work and the steam shower is fantastic. Thermostats for floor heating required some learning curve and Thor helped adjust the rooms with missing or malfunctioning with the finer adjustments made by windows and/or comforters. So much to do around the area but definitely get a 4 wheel drive vehicle if you really want to annoy Iceland. The house location is great for a sedan but we enjoyed going to Haifoss and other areas that were worth having the larger vehicle.

We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for us to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked and we did cook a few meals there. The hot tub and shower were nice as well. Easy drive from there to all the golden circle activities and we did drive down the south coast from there but it is a bit longer drive. Highly recommend the tomato greenhouse restaurant, it was delicious and unique. We did make reservations. There are several good restaurants in selfoss too. Weather was a bit harsh so make sure you bring water proof clothing. Overall we loved our stay and would highly recommend this vrbo.

Our family loved our stay! The house was beautiful and full of amenities. We cooked in every night, and the kitchen was prepped with all the cookware we could need. The super-automatic coffee-maker was put to good use every morning, providing us with ample delicious coffee through the day! Our kids loved the upstairs media / game room, which gave them a great space to spend time. All in all, the house was beautiful and the location was perfect for exploring the Golden Circle.

Our group of 10 stayed at Thorsteinn's property for just under a week and it was absolutely perfect for us! The home was well appointed and centrally located for exploring the Southwest portion of the country (we took day trips to Reykjavik as well as Vik in addition to the Golden Circle, all of which were easy to get to from the house). We cooked most of our meals at home and the kitchen had everything we needed, plus the layout allowed for us to gather around the kitchen island to chat and cook together as a group, which was really nice. The front room has a super comfy sectional couch where our group could gather post-dinner to play games and enjoy each other's company with a lovely fire in the fireplace going in the background. We were even lucky enough to get an awe inspiring Northern Lights show on our first night there (which we enjoyed from the hot tub). Our group's experience was 10/10 and I highly recommend staying at Thorsteinn's home!

We had a great time staying at Grund - a spacious, clean house away from everything and equipped with all we needed to relax. Watching the aurora from the hot tub is a highlight and a must!

Beautiful Home in rural Selfoss! In the early morning of the day we were leaving, my family and I was able to experience the northern lights right out the front door! The weather was not in our favor for our trip. We arrived at the property and had to borrow the neighbors shovel to be able to get all luggage into the home. Also, had to dig out the hot tub. The main Home was great, beds/ couch comfortable, large table to fit everyone at . Shower/ steam room could use some TLC on grout lines. Thorsteinn was great. He is very responsive. Anytime we had questions, which we had many, he was helpful. We wanted to raise the temperature in the home (we are Floridian's), and we were not having any luck, so we called Thorsteinn, and he was able to raise the temperature remotely. We also had multiple questions about the hot tub. Thorsteinn sent us a manual and also walked us through getting it to work. My family and I did not need to use the guest house as not all of our family members could make their flights at the last minute. We did notice some rodent droppings in the guest house. Thorsteinn was notified and he said he would be getting a exterminator to fix this. Lovely property and owner. Would stay again.

The weather was our enemy during our stay, with most roads closed for more than a day due to a winter storm. However, it was nice to have a warm and welcome home for our stay. Conveniently located near Selfoss, Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, and even Reynisfjara Beach, we were very happy with every aspect of the accommodation. Communication with the owner couldn't have been easier either. Would definitely stay here again on. our next visit to Iceland!

We stayed for a week and had an incredible trip. There were 10 adults and 1 child that stayed here and we had no problems. Selfoss is about 15 minutes away which allowed us to get groceries, food, and gas.

Wonderful stay! Our entire group of eight really enjoyed our stay at the Grunt property. The house was perfect for a large group everyone had private rooms to retreat to but also the communal kitchen and living room were perfect for meals and playing games. The hot tub was fantastic Enjoyed mini soaks day and night, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The location was ideal with many attractions nearby.

We had a wonderful time. The house was warm and comfortable. It was a pleasure to keep trying to see the aurora from the hot tub. Communication was excellent.

We spent a week traveling around southern Iceland. This lovely house was a great central location. It had very well equipped kitchen which gave us the opportunity to cook some wonderful meals with local salmon and lamb after our days of hiking and exploring the area. The beds were very comfortable as well. The hot tub at the end of the day was perfect.

We stayed here with two families and really liked this house. Couple of highlights: - nice kitchen with everything we needed - awesome hot tub (once we figured out how to use it) - good stereo and seating for us to relax in the evenings - comfortable beds and black out curtains - close enough to grocery shopping if we go back to the area will try to stay here again.
