Excellent location close to major sites and transport. Staff very responsive. Entrance and main foyer delightful. Great to know the interesting history of hotel in the WW2.

Bedrooms very small - origin as mansion block flats probably contributes. Booked deluxe at significant price and had to move as first room offered barely big enough to squeeze past bed. The second room offered was better but still limited. Also bathroom fan ran throughout 2 day/night visit. Despite reporting, no action taken.

Location was good a lot of construction around the area scaffolding made visual impression of hotel below par. Staff were excellent across the board, the bed was really comfortable had a good night's sleep room impeccable. Would have scored a 9.5 overall if able.

I scored 9 because breakfast was poor particularly the hot food sausages were nice , bacon was cold dry and unpleasant never not eaten bacon until now, if you wanted mushrooms, beans etc. It was prepared in the kitchen while hot food became cold. Croissants served cold these should be served warm instead of light and fluffy were doughy and dry.

Room error on arrival. I had to change room as one of the rooms provided did not have the sofa bed as described by booking.com. The sofa bed was also very uncomfortable. This is really bad in a hotel where sofa beds are often used. Restaurant staff friendly but orders lost, food average, prices were high.

The location was excellent for my husband and myself, very close to St James's Park tube station and only a few stops to Leicester Square and also we could walk through St James's Park to Trafalgar Square and various places of interest. The hotel is super, very friendly and helpful staff and our room was lovely with a comfortable bed plus feather pillows. The management give guests complimentary wine and canapés most evenings. We really liked the bar and the bar staff were very skilled at making fabulous cocktails. Lovely hotel with a warm atmosphere.

Checkout took a while as some American guests were at reception asking lots of general questions. Would be far better if staff could have asked them to speak to Juan in the foyer who has lots of information, then those of us checking out with trains to catch could have not had to wait as we did. Or the hotel could introduce a fast checkout, giving guests the bill in their room under the door then a faster checkout afterwards.

absolutely beautiful hotel, beautifully manicured, designed and maintained. well trained, friendly and service-minded staff from all over the world. large plush towels, comfortable beds, canned waters and chocolate bars replenished every day free of charge in room. affordably priced restaurant w amazing breakfasts. old world charm. 100% best location for all tourist attractions, etc...best hotel ever...will return!

not much! walls a tad thin but it wasn’t really a problem for us. dressers in bedrooms would help for stays over three days.

1. Location is awesome. 2. Generally staff is very welcoming, especially the concierge service. They were very helpful. 3. Historical building. 4. View to courtyard was the right choice (paid additional 30GBP for the upgrade). 5. Family room accommodating 5 persons with 2 bathrooms are rare to find. 6. Very comfortable beds. 7. Very clean.

1. The rooms definitely need some renovation (I understand it's a historical building, nevertheless). 2. Both bathrooms had serious issue with drainage, both sinks and bathtub/ shower cabinet were clogged. The bathroom with a shower cabinet was flooded due to leaking doors. 3. Breakfast. It was way below expectations. Scrambled eggs didn't taste good. I rarely write about this anything negative, but that is a honest feedback. We didn't quite get the system with breakfast. The room was booked with breakfast included, but the waiter in the restaurant informed us that we can order additional items, e.g.poached eggs, etc) for extra. We sticked to the basic "included" option. 4. If air conditioning is not working or switched off, the air in the room can get stuffy. Opening windows help a lot, but could be noisy during the day (early February). Weather in London was fantastic :). 5. The room was spacious, but tight. Since we were 5 in the room it was a bit strange that there was only one chair. 6. Value for money.
