What a treat to stay in such a delightful piece of history. The room was modern and clean. There isn’t an elevator but Dominico, the host, helped us with our luggage. Let’s talk about Dominico for a minute. What a superb host! He’s very proud of the property and rightfully so. He did a fantastic job renovating the property both upstairs and downstairs. He’s from Matera and told us how to maximize our short time there. Convenient to parking. Clean and comfortable bed. Charming view from the balcony in the morning as the children walk to school. The entire stay was magical and my only regret is that we were only there for one night.

It could not have been nicer accommodation and location for seeing the sights of Matera. Domenico has thought of everything. Staff we all lovely and welcoming. It was clean, beautifully renovated, easy to find and information given was extremely useful. Highly recommend it. It is not a large breakfast but what was offered is of great quality.

Perfect location literally steps away from the main attractions, entrance to Sasso 1 min away. The room was comfortable and spacious with high stone ceilling. We had no problems with checking in early. Several options of parking in direct proximity. Friedly host with good contact . Plenty of restaurants around.

Old building recently restored to a high level, mixing old vaults with modern design. If you are lucky then the vaulted ceiling will contain fossils from a period when Matera was below sea level!

The rooms were amazing and in a great location to park and have good access to the historical center. The staff adjusted to our travel delays without question. The bistro below the hotel is wonderful for a snack or an excellent dinner. We loved our stay and will come back. The beds were the best I've slept on ever!

Great location close to town and the inexpensive parking garage.
The We had an ant infestation in our room somehow. I saw one ant in the sink the first night of our stay and thought nothing of it. I felt itchy in the bed during the night and woke to find dozens of ants in the bed, under my pillow, and somehow all over everything I put on the bedside table. I unfortunately put my purse on the floor near this table so ended up carrying a few with me to breakfast. I notified our host that morning and received a fairly nonchalant reply that he was sorry.

The location was great just steps from the historic area. The room was clean, spacious and has a modern decor and amenities, including USB ports. Domenico was friendly and had helpful advice.
We got a breakfast voucher for coffee and a pastry which falls short of the breakfast spread many B&Bs offer. The booking includes only the room and bathroom and there are no common areas to use.

The owner Domenico was very friendly and full of information and suggestions on what to see and where to eat and takes much pride in his hotel and city.
By far the most comfortable bed I slept in and my favorite of the 9 hotels I’ve stayed at over the past 3.5 weeks in Italy. Beautiful room, good air conditioning, nice bathroom and great location in the city center.
