I liked the big house and my room and very comfortable bed (which had 3 pillows!). My brother enjoyed his traditional room and view. We were the only guests that night. I liked that each room has its own key so you don't have to worry about your belongings while you go out. The host lives in the house next door and he is very kind and friendly. The nature, river and trees around the house are wonderful. Unfortunately it was raining a lot so we couldn't go for a walk to enjoy it. The day before our arrival, the host was very kind and considerate to send us a message to warn us about the heavy rain and to offer us free cancellation, but I still wanted to stay there and I'm glad I didn't cancel. You can use everything in the kitchen and cook your own food. There are English labels on things like the aircon remote, the kitchen cupboards/drawers and which recycling bin to use. The house felt very cozy and comfortable and I liked the interior and posters on the walls, the piano and bookshelves. It felt like staying over at a friend's house.

The microwave seemed to work but didn't heat our food. Or maybe I pressed the wrong button. It was very late so I didn't want to wake the host, but I am sure he would have come to help.

We loved to stay at this traditional Japanese house, the common living room is so nice and there is a piano😍 the futon bed was very comfortable. I was a bit afraid before, as I am used to sleeping on soft mattresses. But it was great! There is a second mattress that you can tuck under the futon. We slept very well.

Kengo is such a kind and funns host, speaks English well and is always there to help you. We really enjoyed staying at 88House Hiroshima and I fully recommend to stay some days there. The rooms with their wooden interior, tatami mats, the traditional japanese beds and the river and forest right outside the house make you feel like you are in the middle of a Ghibli film. 10/10!

Nothing. However, make sure to get familiar with the time schedule of bus line 29. The last bus from the center to the guesthouse goes somewhere around 10pm.

Kengo will host you in a way that will make you stay forever. This house is a gem just a few minutes from central Hiroshima. Waking up in the morning to the sound of the nearby river and the great yard was a treat. This is a typical japanese house and I felt in heaven.

I have nothing to complain

I had a very wonderful stay at the 88house. From Shinkansen station you can take bus number 29 in front of Hiroshima Bank and you can get through to the accommodation. The accommodation is quiet, surrounded by greenery and feels very homey. Kengosan speaks very good English and even spoke Japanese with me as I liked to learn it. He gave me good tips for Hiroshima but also my other destinations. I got an upgrade to the Japanese room as it was not occupied at the time of my stay. I had access to the garden and could listen to the river. The accommodation is a bit out of the way from the center, but which is very accessible by bus number 29 if you go through to the Hiroshima Bus Center. I used the kitchen to cook, there was everything available that you need. A large supermarket is 10 minutes away on foot. The accommodation was very clean, I felt very safe even as a woman traveling alone. Since there was not so much going on in the accommodation during my stay, Kengosan kept me company, which was very nice.

Very nice and fast service, Kengo spoke English quite well.

I had a lovely stay in 88 Hiroshima, and loved my room which was very calm and comfy. The commodities were also very practical and clean.
