The breakfast was of a very high standard and lots of choice

The food for both breakfast and evening meal was excellent.
Great location as only a 5 minute walk down to the sea front.
Very dated, room was extremely dated and the bathroom was poor. Lack of ventilation, toilet didn’t flush very well and the hot and cold on the basin tap was round the wrong way (not so important!)

Just the location, nothing else
We had a technical issue with the basin tap at the time of check-in. The issue was there throughout our stay. We have informed the property about the same, but they didn't do anything about it. It is really very disappointing. We would need a complete refund of our stay as we are loyal customers of Booking.com. The tap was spilling through the stay and it wasn't fixed until we have checked out from the hotel

Most staff were friendly and polite. Breakfast was ok but very limited choice.
A shower that leaked all over the floor! Water spilling out of the cabinet whilst I was showering. When I reported this problem in my wet dressing gown, as the phone lines were down, I was just handed towels to 'mop up' the water ourselves! The Manager of the Hotel didn't bother to check our bathroom floor when the shower blocked up and water was swimming around on the floor. This is appalling and should not happen. Not a note of apology was forthcoming, and there was not a booklet in the room to show how appliances work.
The tv remote didn't work properly. There were light bulbs not working in the bathroom. Toiletries/tea/coffee/water was not replaced on a daily basis.I had to report this daily. The evening meal we believed to be cooked by the michelin star chef was overcooked, tasteless and I reported this to the bar/waiter who reduced this off my invoice.

Superb room with balcony and lovely view. All very comfortable. We also had a wonderful nouvelle cuisine meal from Matthew Tomkinson - chef - at the hotel one evening. Very expensive but well worth it!
A rather brisk approach from one of the staff when ordering breakfast. You felt you should only order very few items from the menu. Didn't seem generous considering the price paid for the accommodation.

The fact that there was fresh milk in the fridge for tea/coffee rather than the horrible stuff in little plastic pots. Breakfast was excellent. View from room/balcony would have been wonderful if the weather had been better.

The place was spotless. I was the only guest and the ladies kept everything lovely in my room. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and my room was cleaned every day.
My 90 degree sea view really was 90 degree meaning the building jutted out to block the other 90 degree. Totally my fault but I didn't check if restaurant was open, it wasn't (January) and I also didn't check if it had a lift. It didn't. As I am disabled this was a bit of a problem (I was up two floors) but the ladies were super helpful with my bag. The bed needed an upgrade, or a topper as it was not particularly comfortable.

nice rooms but freezing cold. Eventually got moved to another room .Next day got back had been moved again again no heating. There was hot water they said problem with boiler fair enough but took hours to put a fan heater in the room. Things break and go wrong all they had to do was put fan heater in in the first place would not have been great but would have worked. One staff member tried to resolve things others disinterested were getting paid therefore not bothered .Hotel was nearly empty . I was ill subsequently was ill .

lovely room, stayed in 1 of the 2 suites with fabulous bay windows and sea view. very spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Tasty breakfast. Is a restaurant with rooms, so a bit on expensive side as limited facilities, but if you are after a sea view boutique property in Ventnor it ticks the boxes.

Good sea view. Breakfast was great - beautiful smoked salmon with scrambled egg. Fabulous evening meal - a perfect treat. The staff were all friendly but still professional, especially Emily.
The room could have been a bit smarter, possibly needed an upgrade by a professional designer. There were no drawers for underwear etc!

The breakfasts were excellent, the room was a good size but lacked storage spacer, we had nowhere to put the bags and had to take the ironing board out of the wardrobe to hang clothes.
The shaver socket and bathroom fan did not work all the time of our visit, this was reported on the first day and someone did work on it the next day but could not fix it, we were promised an adapter to charge our toothbrush and razor but this never arrived, also we left behind our toothbrush charger, which when we rang were promised it would be posted back to us, but unfortunately this has not happened.

this hotel is perfectly positioned with an amazing view of the sea. we had a room with a sofa looking directly out of the window plus bath with a view. it was so lovely.
the staff are friendly and helpful and there was a really great breakfast!

First trip to Ventnor and this stunning
Hotel from the moment we arrived we were welcome by our lovely lady from start to finish our stay was blissful if we could give it more out of ten we would perfect location for the beach and getting around.Delicious breakfast,spacious beautiful room.Thank you so much will be back in the summer.

Loved the size of the room. A little tired in some places, but the comphy bed made up for it.
My only negative was it looked a little tired in some places but overall the staff, room size/comfortable bed and fabulous breakfast made up for it.

Breakfasts were superb. Room was large and comfy. Sea views were good. Facilities in bathroom ok but needs updating. Evening meals were top class- almost Michelin star level. Location close to waterfront.
Nothing really. Just felt it could do with a freshen up. My wife wasn't keen on the music in the dining room.
