Comfortable, home away from home cottage a few minutes walk from Sidmouth High Street.

Nice house, well equipped kitchen. Just note the restricted on site parking. If you have a small car you are fine, we couldn’t fit a Mazda CX5 on the front of the house. Fortunately, local car parks were cheap (winter season). Sidmouth was surprisingly busy for a mid week in March. The house is minutes from the beach, nice flat walk up The Byes if you fancy it. Plenty of pubs and places to eat. Can recommend The Swan (nice pub food) - you may want to book ahead. Also recommend The Marine on the front if you fancy something more fancy.

A very relaxing stay in a comfortable, clean and well thought-out property with everything you could need. 2 min walk to the hustle and bustle of the town and only 5 mins walk to the sea front. Great to have an outside area as well. Parking out the front is fine if you’re careful - we managed with our Volvo XC40 (small SUV) and were still able to get into the house :) Perfect for our needs, and Richard was very speedy in his responses to our questions. Well equipped holiday home very peaceful but only a short walk to the high street and the sea Front was very clean and easy to access the property would like to stay again thank you Richard

We booked this last minute with no knowledge of the local area or what to expect. We had our socks blown off by how stunning Sidmouth and the surrounding area is, and this cottage was the perfect place from which to explore it all. The sea is no more than a 5 minute walk away, the shops and cafes and restaurants (which are great) are on your doorstep, and the river is just down the road. The children swam every day and played on the rocks and enjoyed cliff top walks and we made the very best of the last few days of summer. The cottage is well maintained and Richard goes the extra mile with the little touches (like home made chocolate cake and scones and Prosecco on arrival!) but it is also family friendly so we can all relax and unwind. 100%would recommend and want to book again.

Lovely property and ideal for exploring Sidmouth and the surrounding area

We loved staying in Rose Cottage. It was like a home from home, so comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has to be the best equipment home we have stayed in. As a family of 5 we all had plenty of room. It is local to everything in Sidmouth only a few minutes walk from the beach. I would highly recommend staying here.

It was clean comfortable and all facilities were simple and clear to use.The location was very central, so no time wasted travelling, we would love to return sometime.

We drive in a SUV, it is almost impossible to reach the house. Our car was to big to park at the front. Free parking on the road was about 10 minutes walking.

Excellent standard of accommodation with everything you could possibly need. Welcoming touches and quality furnishings put this property above normal holiday rentals. Comfortable bed made us feel right at home.

The house was exactly as described and we only had a couple of niggles. One concerned, we think, a need for hand rails on both sides of the stairs - they would eliminate any doubts on safety (the one set of stairs is quite steep). The other is about the DVD player - the sound quality is not good. The house was warm and very comfortable. It is comprehensively equipped. It is ideally located.

A beautifully equipped cottage, with everything one could need and more besides. Clean, light and airy, and so convenient for both the sea and the shops. Two snags only, which, while they would effect only some people should be made clear in the pre-booking information: [1] Access and parking: The cottage is situated at the inner corner of a cul-de-sac into which one has to make a left hand, right angled reverse turn and then drive backwards for about twenty meters along a very narrow alley-way, onto the parking space in front of the cottage. This will accommodate nothing bigger than a medium sized car without the vehicle overhagging the carriageway to other cottages nearby.. The reverse turn is also hampered by the chain and flower-pots of the Prayer Room opposite the entrance to the cul-de-sac. [2] Stairs. These make a left hand turn at the top, one step before the upper landing and the bath-room, which in turn, are at right-angles to each other. Access from the bath room to the upper landing, and vice-versa,necessitates a step down, a turn, and a step up again, which can be difficult for those of restricted mobility, as there is nothing to hold on to. As the right-hand (as you ascend) stair rail stops well short of the top, a couple of strategically placed "grab-handles" would be very welcome. If it were not for these two criticisms, I would happily make another booking for a further stay. Thank you, Richard, for an otherwise lovely stay

We had a nice week with lots of laughter, wine and good food. For us it was a sentinmental journey, back to england where we were 40 years ago!

Our first stay in Red Rose Cottage and we loved it. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the owners had thought of everything. A very well appointed home. To get your car into the drive is quite difficult, I did it once, to unload, and chose it park elsewhere after that but don't let that put you off as this house has all you need for a very enjoyable break.

Nice house which has an old feel about it. Very close to town, coast and local park. Had parking space which was great even if left a scratch or two getting down the road to it. Owner gave great instructions and had cot, high chair and stairgate for our little one which really helped with car space.

we parked our car and used the buses to get wherever we wanted to go it was very easy. this was our last holiday as over 80 yrs old Richard THANK YOU EVA AND ARTHUR

Lovely spacious and,, comfortable property situated in the centre of town near to the shops, restaurants and sea front. We had a very enjoyable week here and there was plenty of information of the area and the home provided by top bloke Richard.

Returned from a lovely weeks stay in Red Rose Cottage in Sidmouth. Everything was just lovely, the house had everything we needed and more. I really enjoyed sitting outside in the evening having a little drink (or 2 it was our holiday lol) talking to my family of all the lovely things we had seen and done during the day. I thoroughly enjoyed going for a walk in the evenings, just me and our daughter, enjoying the scenery in the changing light, watching people fishing on the beach and finishing it off with crepes and donuts on the beach this was our little secret from her Dad and Grandma lol. All in all what more can I say but Thank you so very much for allowing us to holiday in your lovely home. My husband is already planning to return again soon as everything was so perfect. we had a great week. The house was very comfortable and more than adequately equipped. It is very close to all amenities and the beach. We will be recommending Rose Cottage to all our friends and family.

This house is a delight. There is everything you could possibly need, it is light and airy and clean. The owners have gone to so much trouble to provide everything you would need for a wonderful stay, even hair straighteners! Bubbly and flowers on arrival were much appreciated. Good communication too. We were most impressed and we would not hesitate to go back again, we really loved it (even if parking is a little tight!)

Rose Cottage is in a very pretty little road, very close th all the amenities of the high street, very central with parking. Sidmouth is such a beautiful little town with everything you could wish for, we hopefully will return next year

Very nice town, quiet in comparison with some nearby maybe because of the pebbly beach. Dukes is an excellent restaurant. Lots to do and see nearby and lovely cliff top walks.

Although the weather was changeable throughout the week, sunshine and showers, it did not put us off walking the couple of minutes into Sidmouth town centre every day to have refreshments and going out to many places of interest round and about by car. The cottage was ideally situated for this and came fully equipped to serve the needs of a family. The cottage was clean and tidy when we arrived and the key was in the key safe. Consumables in the kitchen were all stocked up, books and DVD's in the lounge. It is a quiet neighbourhood, and you get used to the seagulls! As a family we would recommend this let to other people

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and was very near to the High Street, with all the local shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk. The cottage was very well equipped too. There was car parking space at the front of the house for one car, accessed via a narrow lane - best to reverse into the space!
