Location is superb. Although advertised a lot as a place for families with kids, it is great for travelers of all ages: so many hiking routes around! Breakfast was amazing, lot's of great healthy options, they accommodate gluten free / lactose free / vegetarian and vegan easily. Staff was so lovely and helpful, they really took care of us upon our late arrival.

The rooms are quite dated, there is this "old" smell in the furniture and also in the corridors. If you book a standard room, be ready to be in the "side room" of a larger unit (there is a door connecting the two). I think that since this is often used by families, this would be a children's room for example. It is long and the bed is really away from the windows, which means little light in the morning (can be great for some, but I like to be close to light & air), and the balcony is shared with the next larger room. Bathrooms are also tiny (just fyi). None of this is really a problem, until you look at the pricing - I would expect to pay around 30% less for a room of this standard.

I arrived to find the property shut for 2 days! as I was on a bicycle I was not able to go elsewhere or eat elsewhere. however the staff were fantastic and allowed me to stay and provided breakfast and dinner too

You book a room to a fix amount from booking, and when you arrive in the hotel, they ask you to pay much more. I've never seen something like that in my entire life. Fly you fools!
