Cool conversion of former newspaper HQ. Loved the retro theme and sympathetic use of original fixtures and fittings. Excellent value.
Rooftop bar rarely open.
Parking not included but NCP a couple of minutes away not too expensive.

The breakfast had good variety. The location isn’t the best because of no parking so I had to park at a car park about 5 minutes walk from there.
The staff could respond to my request a lot quicker than they did.
Also a staff passed me by and didn’t even bother to say hi & no smile.

Easy, friendly check-in, allowed in early. Comfy bed, nice room, convenient city centre location, very good shower, with hose and overhead rain shower.
Noise from overhead, probably from air con, even when switched off. Not loud, but enough when trying to sleep

Great staff, very welcoming and helpful, very good rooms, very nice breakfast.

Central location convenient for all attractions and restaurants. Very nice room with comfortable bed and excellent easy to use shower. Staff very nice and helpful.

Fairly good location. Breakfast was good.
We stayed in a duplex room with stairs which was listed as the best.
There was only one overhead light near the entrance and a standing lamp in one corner. Little natural light came in the low window so it was very gloomy downstairs and no windows upstairs. I couldn’t see a thing sat at the desk with no desk lamp. There was no remote for the downstairs tv, only terrestrial channels on the upstairs tv and we generally found the facilities quite basic. The floors and stairs were all hard surfaces and a rug or carpet somewhere would have been welcome after days of walking. The bed was ok but the pillows were hard and lumpy. The shower knob was broken. There was no sense of luxury at all.

This hotel was top class on several fronts: the room was huge, the bed was very comfy, it was super quiet, the facilites in the room were very good, it was super clean. The rest of the hotel was clean and I loved the decor throughout. The location was absolutely fantastic, easy to walk anywhere in the city centre. It's a nice part of the city. The staff in the restaurant and bar were fabulous, really helpful and friendly. The food was Superb. We had a lovely meal and a fantastic breakfast. Could not fault it. The bar was also well stocked. Price was excellent for what was provided. Would definitely return if staying in the area.
Reception staff were a bit impatient and not particularly friendly when we arrived. Could have been like that because they were overwhelmed about something else but it wasn't a great welcome and wasn't in-keeping with our experience during the rest of our trip. A nice welcome goes a long way.

Huge rooms, very well-appointed and stylishly designed. Temperature was perfect, though I do like ventilation and there was none - just aircon. The room contained everything I needed and the "comfy seat" was actually comfortable. I was able to work at my laptop easily. Wifi was fast and reliable. Everything was clean and in order. Duvets are feather - could be problematic for those with allergies, but not for me. It was nice to have a fridge available in my room.
The restaurant was well-run and provided very nice-quality dinner at a reasonable price. The bar seemed pleasant and included some local craft beers. All the staff were professional, helpful and very easy to converse with.
I very much enjoyed staying in this hotel and look forward to visiting again.
Water coolers on both landings were empty, although tap water in the bathroom tasted fine. Small water bottles were provided in the fridge also.
Room refreshing happened daily by default and it wasn't entirely clear how to prevent that.
Although dinner was splendid, cooked breakfast was very disappointing. I went quite early on, about 730, but the bacon was already dried under the hot lights. All the breakfast items were very oily; hash browns were soggy with it. I could not face the toaster as several people seemed to be struggling to get bread that was actually toasted as opposed to a) not or b) on fire.
It was clear from the labelling that although dietary needs are catered, the kitchen does not understand them well. For instance, the label on Cows' milk read "allergens - milk". There are 2 possible allergens - lactose and dairy in milk, and different customers may require both bits of information. Lactose free cows' milk is readily and inexpensively available these days, and for a hotel like this aspiring to high-end service, would be a nice touch to use for all guests. Likewise it's easy to offer GF sausages as standard - regular guests don't notice, and GF guests appreciate the freedom it affords them. At dinner, there was a paucity of GF available options, and these are very easy and inexpensive to arrange to make meals more accessible for guests, if the intolerance is understood. (Coeliac is obviously a very different proposition, and I think it doubtful that the kitchen would be coeliac safe.)
Lack of affordable nearby parking was inevitable given the hotel's location, but it's a pity.

Great central hotel with a little history and sympathetic design. Perfect for an overnight stay
Bit of a labyrinth, better exit signage possibly would help

Had a wonderful one night stay with the wife for her birthday. Lovely hotel with decor and comfortable rooms. Nice bar downstairs, friendly staff just a shame the rooftop bar is closed in the winter.

Very clean throughout, the team were welcoming and friendly, great service and options available 24/7. It was great to see the history of the building has been preserved.

Exceptional service from the staff, they had a little birthday treat surprise (a selection of cakes) for my partner as this was part of his birthday trip. The hotel was so scenic and it was a delight staying there, I would highly recommend for anyone thinking of visiting Coventry.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Good location.
There were no windows to open in the room as they were all sealed shut. The room tended to get hot. Could hear people using their bathroom in the next room as the noise travelled through the joint fan vent which didn't seem to work.

Great location for the Belgrade Theatre & for getting into Coventry City Center.
The chips/fries weren’t enough for the amount of money I paid for my main Fish & Chips meal in main restaurant.

good location, parking just a couple of minutes away - £8 for 24 hours. Loved the hotel decor, it was really clever and retro. Staff were really friendly and breakfast was great. A really stylish hotel and a great nights sleep. Great design touches in the room.

It was comfortable. The central location was convenient for exploring the city. There was plenty of space. The rainwater shower and the whole bathroom were excellent. The bed was comfortable.
The lack of parking on site and the additional cost of public parking. There was a window at ceiling level but it was not possible to look out.

Breakfast was very good. The retention of original building's features and the newspaper theme made it interesting. The staff were polite and helpful. Loved the soaps in the bathroom.
No one in restaurant when we arrived. Long queue at the bar. So had to go back to reception to find someone to help.

The hotel has a great style and was very clean. My room was very big compared to what I’m used to so it felt very luxury. Very quiet at night to sleep and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely stay again!

Everything about the telegraph was fantastic.
The staff did everything in their power to accomodate me and my partners anniversary.
Upon arrival, a quick room inspection from me and my partner and we loved it. The room was great, it was clean, everything worked. Complementary water upon arrival in the mini fridge, the bed was comfortable. The shower was incredible.
The morning afterwards, the breakfast was fantastic.
There was a wedding/conference happening at the time during our stay and the music/vibrations from that was vibrating a lot of the hotel rooms, although the staff informed us of this in advanced and made it clear it should be finished during night time hours.
Plus it was relatively easy to ignore, provided you were watching something or preoccupied.

Central, nice property.
Was staying in a duplex room/suite, in England in December. Yet the room has only heating upstairs in the bedroom. Thus the downstairs is freezing and impossible to warm up, where the sofa is, sitting area, tv etc. completely useless unless you’re going to sit in jacket and scarf on the sofa/desk to relax/work.
Next time would book a basic room only and be warm.

Over forty years ago I toured the building when it was the offices of The Coventry Evening Telegraph. Vague memories. Now, as The Telegraph Hotel it is beautifully decorated in keeping with the era & style of the building. My room looked out over Belgrade Square. Great city centre location but certainly not noisy. The room was luxurious, spacious and clean. A well-stocked drinks station, with a fridge with bottled water, a coffee machine and sachets of hot chocolate. The king-sized bed was comfortable and the shower great. I particularly liked the black & white tiles on the bathroom floor & the dark wood, gorgeous greens, greys & pinks. Everywhere you turn in this building there’s some stylish detail to admire. A sideboard with & chairs & turquoise vases. And details showed the buildings newspaper history. The staff were friendly & efficient. I met my friend for lunch &, despite a few missing items on the menu, we had a good lunch. The choice at breakfast was impressive. I feasted on fresh pineapple & melon with thick Greek yogurt, granola & dried apricots, orange juice, then fried egg, hash browns, beans & mushrooms, toast & Marmite & and croissant with Marmalade. Lots more to choose from. I only stayed one night, to meet my friend & go to a meeting nearby but I’ve already decided I will stay again next time I’m in Coventry.

The hotel has a real retro feel in line with the fact it was once the Telegraph offices. It had a very 50's/60's feel to it which makes it very unique from many hotels trying to distance themselves from an older appearance. Here it works perfectly.
The hotel was very clean, the rooms tidy, well equipped and decorated in line with the feel of the building with many touches of the buildings past.
Didn't stay for breakfast unfortunately but would have expected a good meal. The bar area was likewise retro kitsch albeit a bit pricey.
No fault of the hotel but part of the surrounding area (the walk into town past the fast food restaurants) was a bit run down and inhabited by the tracksuit and puffa type. Better to walk through the shopping centre opposite the hotel.

Emplacement, équipements, personnel de réception
Pas de vraies fenêtres ouvrables, paiement réclamé en avance pour petit déjeuner et « oubli » de nous informer de la party du samedi soir dont la musique empêchait tout sommeil

Perfect location and a quality hotel
Although there was a 24 hour room service menu, it was a little limited. Room for improvement but not too much of a big deal.

Great refurbishment into a hotel, kept lots of original features, of some I remember.
Bathroom clean ish, couple of long dark hairs on shower wall. Scuff marks in a few places. TV not the best, remote didn't work properly. No details of room service, breakfast, menus etc. Bed a bit uncomfortable

Another wonderful stay. Love the style and comfort that this hotel offers and will certainly be back again! The bed was amazing and the location is spot on.
Nothing that had a massive impact on our stay. Tiny things like the tele didn’t seem to function properly and could have been a touch higher on the wall.

Did not have breakfast so no comment.
The style of the hotel was excellent, delighted that newspaper building had been used and incorporated original features
Could not find anything that I disliked
