Restaurant is very slow. Need to wait 1hr and more for the food, even for breakfast.

Kilua resort is fairly new and is situated on Shanzu beach. The hotel is built around a central area of swimming pools which are well-kept and very clean. The shallow swimming pools are a great attraction for families and children. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable, and we had a room on the 3rd floor with a great view of the pool area and the beach. Even though the hotel does not have a bar of its own, one can make use of the Flamingo cave bar next door (belonging to pride in Flamingo hotel, and located just one minute walk from the Kilua resort reception), which has superb views of the beach. The hotel provides shuttle services to the airport for a fee. The hotel staff are very welcoming all throughout - from the reception to the housekeeping staff and the concierge. Check-in was smooth. On our last day of stay, we were very pleased when the manager allowed us to have a room, since we had to vacate our 3- bedroom unit, but our flight out of Mombassa got delayed until late in the day. Breakfast includes a variety of options.

In the evening of the 25th of December, the dinner service at the restaurant was painfully slow and quite disorganized. It was evident that the restaurant was overwhelmed by the high turnover on Christmas Day. The waiters were doing their best, but they definitely need some training.

The building was nice to look at from the outside.

Some staff was unfriendly unhelpful entitled millennials not interested in guest. Apartments are ok but everything else was poorly managed

It had a great pool and easy access to the beach. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen was excellent for preparing meals. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Free breakfast was a nice benefit for our family.

We noticed mold growing in one of the bathrooms.

The air conditioners are ineffective, this facility is not worth what they charge ...... it's a two star bed and breakfast! NO HOT WATER AND NOBODY CARES !
