Super cute place and the staff was so nice! I actually loved the dutch door, I liked being able to look outside and still be warm in my room. The view was beautiful, I could've stared for hours.

First time staying Carmel by-the-sea. Very neat place. We must miss breakfast to leave early. Unlikely large hotel chains, front desk opens certain hours. (Morning start 8 s.m.)

The hotel was very nice with very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. I was impressed with some nice touches in the room such as the coffee provided and wine glasses. The main negatives were that the water pressure in the shower was so low and the shower head was awful, so it was basically a mist, not a way to wash yourself, the bed was very soft and uneven, and the tv remote did not fully work. Overall though, I would recommend to a friend. The vibe was great.

We were located next to the mechanical room and it was very noisy. We complained but they had no real solution. The second night they brought up earplugs.
The hotel was very dated but clean.
The problem was we entered at street level and had to go up one flight of stairs...ok but to go out the back it was three flights down to pool.
We did however have a gorgeous view.
The staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable.

Parking available on site, though a little tight, but that's Carmel. Hotel is dated, but the owners and staff make sure you're taken care of. Continental breakfast in the morning is adequate coffee, tea, orange juice, yogurt, fresh fruit and pastries.

This was a cute place that actually had parking which is a big deal in that area. Breakfast was basic, but great to have. Water bottles would have been nice to have but there wasn’t anything but a vending machine. The front clerk was amazing, super helpful.

Amazing 2 night stay at the Hofsas House Hotel! Very clean, large room. The kitchenette was a plus! Close to everything in Carmel. We walked everywhere and did not have to use our car in the three days we were there. Would definitely return to the Hofsas House.

It was very clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated that it had a family room with fridge and microwave.

This was an amazing stay, the hotel is very aesthetic and makes you feel welcome. The room was small but incredibly cozy and the bathroom was very large to my surprise. I loved the pink Dutch doors and floral patterns in the room. There is nothing like staying in a cute place like this though it was pricey. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. I had a hard time getting reception but there is wifi, though I didn't get the chance to use the heated pool or complimentary breakfast I'm sure it would've been lovely.

Deserved almost 5 stars, neighbors upstairs wouldn’t let us sleep due to squeaks every time they walked in their room, loud squeaks but besides that everything was great.

Decided to try a new new place to stay in Carmel - won't be back. This place is old & tired looking. Room was sparsely furnished and the walls/ceiling were paper thin. Heard noise all night from upstairs.

We love this little darling getaway with the flower wallpaper on the ceiling and all around reminding me of Grandma's house. In a good way though. Love the fireplace and the patio, I didn't pillows for perfect and a nice little breakfast downstairs. We definitely would return again. Thank you!

Hofsas House is the best value for your buck. They have a great continental breakfast with wonderful pastries, yogurts, fruit, OJ, etc., the staff is very friendly, they hotel is in a great location and very clean. It is dated, but some people consider that old charm. Plus, they are not like all the other hotels that have jacked up their prices over 50%.

Enjoyed reading and hearing about the history behind this family owned inn. While the upcoming renovations will improve the guest experience, the authenticity and love of the original structure makes it a special place. Basic guest rooms are comfortable and adequate. No frills. Nice views from top floor.
