Receive a £100 fine for parking, even though I was an over night guest and paid for parking!

Stay at this hotel regularly, it's very good. However this time some improvements could be made to make my stay better:
The Christmas music in the lobby and bar was a notch too loud, which made concentrating on work e-mails tricky.
Spotted the new self-checkout drinks/snack area by the entrance which looked great. Thought I'd get a small bottle of red wine and chocolate to take back up to the room. On self-checkout it asked me to get an authorisation from reception for the wine (over 18s), but there was only one staff on reception and a queue of 6 waiting to check in! I put the wine back and just got the chocolate. Great idea, but maybe not so great in practice.
Shower wasn't hot in the morning (around 07:15), although was hot the evening before. A demand problem?

Hotel was fine but started off badly as just felt ripped off with a £8 parking, £25 to checkin 2 hours early the £6.50 for a pint of beer.
The room was good and a good location but unfortunately we could not control the heating and was unfortably hot. Unfortunately as well twice in the morning the cleaners knocked well before checkout disturbing our morning.

Good hotel overall. Spacious lobby, bar and dining areas, good food, and easy parking (although a bit cheeky charging £8/day for the privilege!). Gym was reasonable. I had one of the new ground floor rooms, but it had no desk (only a small round table which was no good for working on) and practically zero draw space. Also, housekeeping was poor (I came back to find my curtains still closed, lamp still on, wet towel still on vanity sink unit, and only one of the two mugs washed up, with the other still on the bedside table). Those minor (and fixable) details didn’t detract too much from what was otherwise a very pleasant stay. Recommended.

I can’t fault our stay. The welcome was super friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. The breakfast had lots of choice. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Pool staff were very helpful. Nice pool and gym.

Hotel, service, food etc all excellent. The standard of the bathroom really let down our stay. We booked an accessible room due to my colleague having a disability. The bathroom was very dated, appeared dirty with staining on the tiles, and general deterioration. For the standard of the hotel and price per night I was expecting more than a clinical public toilet look!

Free upgrade to a new room. Spacious and clean. Comfy beds and nice toiletries. Only thing that was missing was slippers.

A good overnight stay. Reception a little lacklustre but engaging in friendly exchange of information. Bar expensive and impersonal. But we would stay there again.

My second time staying at this hotel. The reception staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are spotless and the beds and super comfy.

I would not stay here again...old furniture,very dirty room and swimming pool and the fold out bed come with no linen and was very uncomfortable!

We had booked a family suite through hotels.com
We arrived and they told us it wasn’t available (gave an excuse about being overbooked, but I’ve worked in hotels to know they got a better rate paid and left us without the room we paid for)
So they gave us 2 connecting rooms. The 3 stars is mainly for the fact we didn’t get the room we paid for.
Other than that, rooms were nice and spacious although no fridge. (There is one in the suite)
The air con was not that cold even though we had it on the lowest setting.
The swimming pool was good as the kids enjoyed it.
Breakfast was nice also.
Overall was good, but if you haven’t got the room I booked, you had my number…. You should have called me.

Stayed here for my 1st wedding anniversary. The room was immaculate and bathroom was clean, staff were friendly and gave us a treat was a nice gesture. The spa/pool area was clean and so relaxing. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel room was not what i expected. No air conditioning and bath tub was small and tap had a leak. No ventilation in the bathroom .hotel reception informed maintenance whom amended the tap and replace bath plug but was too late. Only had a night stay so did not have much time to wait around to have facilities repaired

This place is so run down and is in need of a huge refurbishment. It has not changed in 15+ years. The bathrooms are shabby, the tiles are cracked, the grout is orange and just grubby. We didn't get our room cleaned between the two nights and therefore did not have enough toilet roll etc. Outside the hotel is rubbish and random things which make it look shabby. The health centre is just old fashioned and needs an overhaul. We have stayed here a few times this year and will now probably not return. You also have to pay a shocking £6 a day parking which is scandalous.

Lovely hotel and perfect Breakfast. Small but nice gym with a small pool, changing area could do with a bit of TLC. We were unlucky to be near a fan outside so if we went again would request a quiet room for better sleep. Nice friendly staff

Amaizing customer service, great location but the room provided was not according to my initial booking. Booked a king size bed and was given a room with 2 single beds…..I wasn’t too impressed.
Other than that, close to a wide selection of dinners and the breakfast was great.

Everything was okay. Just that the hotel was a bit old. Did not have amenities like fridge, water or toothbrush toothpaste etc. It was a bit smelly in the parking lot.

Fantastic stay however the pool was fully packed and we were refused to go in. This was our only stay at the hotel and booked This hotel because of the swimming pool. Other than that it was a great stay

The bathroom tap and shower leaked, we had free breakfast when we booked but we weren’t down on the list of rooms for breakfast when we went down both mornings of our stay. They didn’t advise there would be two charges on the credit card and one would be returned afterwards which would have been useful to be told as part of the check in process.

Lovely and spacious. Great leisure facilities. Steak in the restaurant was fantastic! Moved the chair in the bedroom though and there’s dirt and part of a strawberry underneath so could be cleaner
