Everyone was super nice, it was clean and efficient. The parking was very disappointing. I thought when they said onsite parking it would be a normal parking lot, it was not. I think they should make this clear in their advertising.

I could not have had a better stay here. Every single staff member that I encountered was extremely helpful and friendly and did whatever they possibly could to meet my every need. I very much look forward to staying here again.

Amazing experience Beautiful location

This hotel offers a wonderful service - among the best you can find in a hotel in Jerusalem and at an affordable price. The hotel has the feeling of a family run hotel. If you have any problems the staff are quick to sort them out. The hotel is conveniently located for all the sights. I saw guests from Europe, America and other parts of the world staying. The food menu is top quality - so even if you are not a guest, I highly recommend the restaurant. If you want to experience hospitality, then stay here.

Staying at Golden Walls was a real treat for us. Exceptionally well-maintained property with top notch service, excellent breakfast and best of all, location. The hotel is in within close proximity to the most important sites of Jerusalem.

The location of this hotel is great - right near the Damascus Gate but the staff is indifferent and could not understand the billing (it did get straightened out in the end). The rooms we were given for our group were not well maintained. The hall was smelly and the rooms needed a serious update. We noticed that some other floors had been updated. This really felt like a college dorm. The breakfast was really good and we had the buffet one night and it was also good. We would not stay there again.

Hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the Damascus gate. Transportation is available outside the hotel. Food is available at the hotel and there are multiple eating places inside the old city of Jerusalem. I was as comfortable at the hotel and outside as I am in the US.

Great location of hotel to Aqsa mosque. Clean rooms and comfortable. Good size of room. Breakfast was good and enough choices. Check in was speedy

An amazing location right opposite Damascus Gate, Zedekiah Cave, bus, train station. Walking distance to all the holly land marks in Jerusalem. However most travellers arrive very early and the workers behind desk has no flexibility to accommodate some situations. Management should give them some power to relax checking ins.

Better than expected

Really disappointed by the staff at this hotel, particularly those in the restaurant. They were rude, cold and callous, often removing hotel guests from their chairs (as they weren't part of a group), despite those individuals having paid for the opportunity to sit. Waiters were also noted using a spoon and scooping out of icecream from the guest bowl.
It's a shame - the hotel has the ability to be really good but it let's itself down.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We chose it due to its location with respect to the Old City just outside the Damascus Gate. The hotel was fine, not elegant, but certainly comfortable. It is in the middle of the Arab section of town with typical Arab shops and food stands outside. As a non-Arab, I was completely fine with that but some Americans might feel a little out of place. All the women in the restaurant at breakfast except my wife were wearing Muslim head coverings.

Very bad service is horrible customer service they think you owe them and they doing you a favor to let you stay in their hotel I did pay for my stay

The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the location was really good, and the hotel itself was just fine.
The only downside: The WiFi for the rooms wasn't working, and didn't get fixed until the last day of my stay (in all fairness, I was there over the Christmas holiday which may have held things up). It was inconvenient, but at least the WiFi in the lobby worked fine, so I had a connection. But it would have been nice to have had it in my room.
That being said, the staff couldn't have been better; in fact, the cleaning staff noticed it was a bit cool in my room and on their own brought in an additional heater for me, which was really appreciated.
The desk staff made the arrangement for a taxi to pick me up at 1.45 a.m. to get to the airport in time, and couldn't have been nicer.
The location, close to Damascus Gate, was fabulous. I was close to the Old City, the light rail, and the Arab bus station (to get to Bethlehem). Plus there were lots of restaurants and shops and sellers close by to get food, bottled water, etc. Convenient.
Others have written that it's dated and needs repair; I didn't see much evidence of that. It's a good, solid, basic hotel. Overall, very pleased and would stay there again!

Great location for visiting the Old City, Very clean, rooms nice and big and the food was great.

The hotel is located in an area that is a little scary in the evenings. The exterior of the hotel is not attractive but inside it was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The parking available for a rental car does not seem very safe. The breakfast buffet didn't have much to offer. Although the hotel is conveniently located to the Old City and the Garden Tomb, next time we would stay in the center of Jerusalem.

This hotel is well located to walk to the old city. However, the lobby is on the second floor and one must use the stairs to get to the lobby. Hotel staff did transport our luggage, but the walk up was a surprise. The hotel is located in the Muslim district with a mosque nearby. The call to prayer several times a day was easily heard in our room.

Proximity to old city (across street and 1/2 block to Damascus Gate) allowed easy access to dining, exploring and shopping. Hotel is comfortable, smallish with pleasant staff.

Super location near Damascus Gate. I really enjoyed strolling in the Old City whenever I felt like it. Satisfactory breakfast, good coffee. Rooms a bit old-fashioned, but I didn't go to Jerusalem for the decor. Free internet in the lobby. Helpful staff (I needed my glasses repaired and they took the time to give me exact directions).
