First night they put us in a smoking room even though we had asked for non smoking. Everything was smelling terrible and folks got asthma. We were at this hotel for 1.5 days so became difficult to change rooms. When we came back a week later to stay here (had prebooked), they gave us a non smoking room that also smelt terrible. They then moved us to another one which was a downgrade to my original room, but we took it. The checkin folks are good, nothing above and beyond what you would see at most hotels. Service in the Egyptian restaurant is very bad, though the food is good. Very slow, after they serve you will disappear for a good amount of time until you flag them down if you want a drink refill, etc.. Room Service is VERY good. Great food, selection, fair pricing, service, polite, etc.. Hotel decor overall is very nice in the lobby, and being connected to a mall is very convenient if you want to go shopping. Be very careful about the smoke in the rooms, and make sure they dont downgrade you to a worse room when you ask for a change.

I was given a room on 3 rd floor with no elevator, I stayed here few days ago expecting the same service, it turns out to be a disaster. I have a disability and be given a room with out an elevator and not being told at time of check in was not good service at all.

Great location and comfortable room. The mall is connected to the hotel and makes it so convenient

Staff has great customer service. Shopping center adjacent to the hotel was a plus.

Just a mediocre hotel piggybacking off the Intercontinental name. The room was average, we had a few ants that liked to try to be our room mates, but the location attached to Citystars mall does make it better.

The property is well maintained, modern and beautiful. Unfortunately for me that I only stayed one night before flying back.

During the past 9 years I have been a guest for this hotel i noticed a serious deterioration in the quality of employees and services provided. However, the memories i had there helped me to ignore this fact and keep visiting but what happened today after checking out exceeded all the worst scenarios and human expectations so i decided to detail what happened and never go there again, After checking out and paying all the expenses of our stay i took my vehicle and While driving out of the external gate i saw someone running and waving with his hands asking me to stop so i stopped. please try to guess why they stopped me!!!! He came and said "we are missing the TV remote control so it might be in your luggage" ! Can u imagine!!, anyone visited that hotel can tell how much could be spent in three nights and they stopped me after paying everything as they cannot find a 10 dollars remote control , i cannot mention all the details because of space limitation. Briefly i had to throughout everything from my luggage in lobby from anger, my daughter got a serious injury in her finger and suffered emotional distress because of the incidence. My advise is try to change your plans. if you had to book your stay there ask someone from front desk to send someone to check the room with you before leaving it as it seems there is something wrong going on there then it might end up seeing yourself facing the same bad experience and asked to check ur luggage for a missed bar of soap!!

The hotel rooms have become old and not renovated, and the carpeting is not clean and has become very old

They took 300$ cash deposit and did not return it back.

Magnificent property that offers all that one desires. People are warm, friendly and going the extra mile to make your stay one to remember.

Staff tried to touch me inappropriately. Constant whistling, winking. I am a married Russian/American woman traveling with husband and my kid. Disgusting behavior toward tourists that pay your salary. Will not go back.

It was disappointing to be told that there is no refund for the entire 3 nights while I had an emergency and had to change the hotels. That is a complete rip- off the guests money and I would never recommend this property to anyone.

The hotel was nice and the rooms were good too. The service was very poor. Once we complained they made every effort for us but i just don't feel the staff are properly trained.

Well, as A Five star hotel, a bit disappointed by their late response for housekeeping and some situation. Poolside rooms, because of tiles on the floor, super noisy. And because of that, whole nights were half awake...couldnt sleep well..and staffs who were working and walking there...very noisy ...

Intercontinental have a luxury image worldwide. As soon as you step into Intercontinental Cairo, you will understand that its an old property. The elevators, stairs, way to the swimming pool view one bedroom cabanas is very confusing. There is no elevator for the rooms facing swimming pool, so kindly take care before booking. Cabinets and washroom is broken from most of the sides and is in terrible condition. I tried to make tea and when i poured water into the cup, there were ants swimming which is just bizarre. People are ready to help you even if you tell them thousand times that you don't need because they will keep roaming around you to get money. When I took the invoice and opened it at airport, I saw they have charged me transportation charges of around $20 out of no where while transport to and from hotel was pre-arranged for me by my client. No response yet from the hotel while i have sent emails twice. Totally disappointed.

Beautiful hotel with a great breakfast buffet. All staff friendly and willing to help. Wonderful mall accesible from inside hotel for walking and shopping. Lunch and dinner buffet were also wonderful. Near airport. Loved this hotel (could have softer bed).

Overpriced and outdated compared to other Intercontinental hotels - also the noise especially at the streetside is too much
