One of our worst stays in New Zealand. The heaters did not work at all even though it was freezing outside. More importantly, unreliable hot water and when it was on it was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Impossible to find the right temperature as the electric water heater was low end product that couldn’t control the temperature at all. Bathroom was also not clean and the towels hangers all broken. Quite dangerous to wash kids. Not enough power outlets to charge devices. Would not come back.

Friendly checkin staff, upgraded to room overlooking the Lake which was great and much appreciated. Easy walking distances to everything.

The room was comfortable but this property is directly in front of the lake and next to the church which makes it very accessible. Would highly recommend it. Had breakfast at Jack Rabbit and it was delicious.

A comfortable hotel at beautiful Lake Tekapo. Great location and next to the town centre. The hotels is a bit dated and can do with a make over. Room was small.

Very good hotel in Lake Taupo. The best part of the hotel is its location - we had a room looking out right onto Lake Taupo and the historical Church. Can't ask for a better location!
The room was good, service Ok, parking easily available, etc. So no complaints. Overall quite satisfied with the hotel stay.

We booked the standard room for just one night, wasn’t expecting too much since this room was a lot cheaper than most other places in Tekapo, but was very suprised the room was so so nice and had a great view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Would definitely stay here again :)

Really lovely htl right next to the Village plus views of the Lake Tekapo. The prepaid brekkie was very gd. U get to order ANig Breakfast or any other stuff plus a nice cuppa.

Overall a good stay, lovely view of the lake. The room was clean however there was no little table in the room which was super weird. Nowhere to put the laptops of air and have anything to eat… we had to sit on the bed to eat dinner which we had bought from a local restaurant. The room would be more user friendly to have a small table in it to go with the two chairs that were in it.

The Godley is aging but cheerful. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed plus THAT view. It was an easy walk to bars and restaurants and shopping in the village.

Motel type accommodation that accommodates mostly one night stays at the Lake, for those in transit. Beds were old and very soft. Bathroom very small. Aluminium shower floor...not seen for many years! Room size adequate. Lovely check in staff and the breakfast was surprisingly good. Also offered up real proper coffee which in NZ for us was a rare as part of the breakfast. Good location and fine for one night. Car parking good and the front of rooms etc. good location for pub and some eating places close by. Excellent location to walk to the lake.

The room was clean and ok, however we were placed in an accessible room with a huge wheelchair accessible bathroom. This seriously cut down on the room left for the bedroom. Also the shower curtain finished about a foot above the ground so when someone used the shower there was water everywhere and you had to use a towel to mop up.
Also just a wall basin which meant there was nowhere to put any of your toiletries except on the (wet) floor. The room lacked functionality in this way. Maybe a standard room would have been better though.

Glad to see the hotel management listened and revamped some parts of the room. Shower area still looks tired. The water pressure was good, just the shower head was abit too low.
