Welcome was good and explained everything about working current situation. Room was very comfortable clean and well decorated. Cannot quite see the sea but its far better to walk down to the front and experience it first hand. Car park a bit tight but manageable and plenty of on street parking.

We stayed for 3 nights and everything was great from the arrival to the departure! Absolutely loved the home made fudge we found in our room on the arrival, it was so delicious. Same goes to breakfast served in a cosy dining room. Matt and Lyssanne were both friendly and very accommodating - they definitely go an extra mile for their guests comfort. Would definitely stay again if we’re ever back to Torquay!

Fantastic hosts, lovely B&B

I stopped here for one night on my way to collect a family member on our way to Brighton, the staff were friendly and attentive, my room was lovely and clean and the facilities were perfect, I had a great rest and was greeted with fresh milk for my coffee in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and all local, the staff waved me off and I had a great stay, I’ve even enquirer about myself and my husband and two children coming back next year as I was so impressed. Thank you to all the family staff that helped make my stay so nice.

Only an overnight stay, but want to return. Excellent place.

Very nice and comfortable guest house. Owners are very friendly and will ensure you are comfortable. Park your car in the street. It was funny trying to watch some people negotiate the small steep driveway Breakfast very good.

This is a great place to stay in Torquay. We were met with a lovely warm welcome from the owners who made us feel very welcome from the start. The room was immaculate and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the owners couldn't do enough for us and our 1 year old. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely hotel run by a lovely couple. Excellent service, friendly atmosphere and well kept bedroom and en suite. We enjoyed a couple of drinks with the owners one evening and found them a real joy. We'll definitely be returning.

Having read the reviews of the Cleveland, I decided to book there for a surprise weekend away for me and the other half. I booked the standard double room for us, this was a genuine mistake on my part, as I should have booked a room with a kingsize bed (as I am a gentleman who is on the larger size). Speaking to Matt and Lissanne the next morning at breakfast, I mentioned my mistake and they immediately offered us a room with a kingsize bed. We then left for some retail therapy and when we returned all our luggage was already in our new room. Was lovely to receive such a warm welcome upon our arrival from Matt and Lissanne (and young Thomas). We were surprised to hear that they had only been running The Cleveland for a month. We hope to return to stay at The Cleveland very soon.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the station and the centre of Torquay. Our room was comfortable, well-equipped and clean, although not very large. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the stay and would go there again.
