It was off the main road so we didn’t have to listen to all the beeping of the passing traffic. The road up the hill to the property cannot be traversed by cars, so if you have actual suitcases, the friendly staff may be able to help. There are some protective dogs on this hillside driveway that scared my son, so it was a good dog whisperer lesson I got to give him (no eye contact and talk in a very mild tone telling what good boys and girls the doggos are then just keep walking). Our 3 night stay were divided into 2 rooms, the first room had a tricky door then a faulty AC. The friendly front desk lady helped us move our things. Walking distance to restaurants, massages, grocery and about a 12 min walk to night market. Overall a good visit! (And because of the dogs, my preteen boy held my hand. I never get those anymore!) Oh, also booked a lovely tour with John’s Tours from their front desk. Pick up from hotel & return!

Swimming pool dirty. Bathroom open - large spider chased my wife and kids. Linen not fresh. We mover after one night even though we had paid for two nights.

In short, my stay at the Miana Resort was a complete disaster. The resort was advertised as '3-stars', but on arrival, I was greeted with sick dogs in the driveway, rubbish in the garden, and a tired, old-looking resort. I'm not even sure this place deserves 1-star.
The room itself was grotty. The air conditioner barely worked and only acted as a sad, pathetic fan leaving the room humid and uncomfortable.
The bed sheets were torn, the bathroom window was covered in face prints, there were cigarette butts, rubbish and broken tiles in the shower, and the drinking glasses were dirty and covered in toothpaste. And to top it all off, there were faeces on the toilet seat that the staff didn't properly clean.
Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the manager, little was done to address them, except 'allowing' us to cancel our booking and leave without a refund. The manager was unwilling to speak to us directly, instead communicating via a junior staff member on the phone from a nearby room on-site.
In the end, we moved to a 2-star resort in a different area that was incredibly clean, beautifully landscaped, and had beach access that did not need us to sneak through another resort (yes, this is the advice you receive at Miana). It was a breath of fresh air after my experience at the Miana 'Resort'.
If you're looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation in Phu Quoc, I suggest looking elsewhere.

The main problem with this resort are the bathrooms ,they are open to the elements and as this is a garden resort this means free access for mosquitoes and there are plenty of them ,we also had toads sharing the shower with us as well as large snails .This was nightmare for us as every time you went to the bathroom you were worried about letting the mosquitoes in .This could easily be fixed by putting mesh or netting over the opening there by keeping the light and air coming in but keeping the bugs outside . Most of the staff were very understanding and did there best to help even providing deterrents .Breakfast were also an issue and all this needs is some staff training , you had to ask for items to be replaced as they didnt replace items as they were used up and were not made aware of cooked items you could order. If the bathrooms were made bug proof we would visit again as in a good position for accessing all Duong Dong has to offer

Upon arrival, youd be faced with a small banner that says Miana Resort, and an adjacent banner that in Vietnamese translates into Pub. Yes, there is a gritty pub right outside your resort, but let me continue. As we ascend the 45 degree uphill incline of approximately 50 meters from the main street, we walked passed several peoples homes with their doors wide open, allowing us to see their poor living conditions. Also, there were at least 4 dogs that belonged to them (having paw prints in the cement was a nice feature). We also saw plenty of garbage and residual construction pieces scattered all over along our way to the top.Once weve arrived at the summit, checked in, room was the Twin room with two double beds to accommodate 4 guests. We were missing a pillow. The shower head was right beside an open air column leading outside with floral plants on the ground. You essentially water the plants with the water that bounces off your body. They decided to put a giant window right beside where you shower... with the curtains on the INSIDE of the room! Yes! Youre at the mercy of your roommates to not bother you while youre showering. There was white dog feces all over the exterior of our bungalow. The buffet breakfast consisted of small sausages, bacon, assorted deli, some vegetables for a salad but no dressing, some tropical fruits and fresh bread. Theres a cool guy that sits by the counter with a stove that simply cooks eggs for you.
