Very cool old building. Large room. Great pub with fireplace. Friendly staff. A bit expensive.

This is a traditional inn with traditional food in the best possible sense. The chef was excellent about food allergies and asked if we needed anything as they were going shopping. The village itself is very quiet and may not suit everyone but in a good position for the Malverns.

Nice team of staff who were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
The room however was disappointing and was reached by a very, very steep staircase.

There's a question from Hotels.com asking if this hotel has a car charging point ....ha ha ha ....its 500 years old :)

great find and fantastic staff
This place dates back to the 1500s - so its never going to be straight lines and square walls !!
Great breakfast - brewery on site and next to the river.
What else would yo need !!
Great for walking etc
Will definitely be back - but i expect this place gets
rammed in the summer
Look out for the beer festivals - you can stay there too so its a great place to visit

What a fantastic find this place was,
Such friendly Staff, lots of character to this old building, I had already read the reviews for the breakfast and we were not disappointed.
The best homemade black pudding ever tasted,
It’s such a great treat to find places like this still exist.

I arrived late to the property, check in and evening staff were brilliant, even checking that I was still arriving as I was pushing it for time, Very very creaky room, So much so I felt bad for moving about in the night as to not disturb neighbouring rooms, shower hideous and very poorly installed. Got asked if I would like a early breakfast, which I did not - However was informed that there would be someone catering for this from 08:00 - Perfect.... Or so I thought.... I waited 25 minutes for someone to appear and even approached the kitchen on two occasions, with no response.... I left with no breakfast or even a coffee.... Not ideal at £120 a night.

Lovely location, period pub with good and plentiful food.

The food was well presented and above average, served hot and tasty. The beds were comfortable and clean. However, overall room cleanliness poor. Carpets in need of replacement.
Staff friendly. Good parking.

Poor food , steep stairs to room , loud party to 2am .

the staff were friendly and informative. It was a comfortable place to stay, excellent room, dogs allowed in the bar and in room, no fuss. Long standing family firm, happy to do early breakfast. No wonder that the bar was filled with local people on a weekday enjoying themselves. Also a very interesting building.

Very old inn with modern extensions. We found it querky. All clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The quality of food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent.
All round good experience.

Liked the clean room, friendly staff, comfy bed and the large spacious shower. Disliked the very steep staircase and creaky floor boards on every step in the bedroom.

Amazing food and good service. Bed soft but comfortable. However the room was very cold and we had to wear jumpers and clothes to bed. Dinner was great but depending on where you sat (near fire) temperature difference was extreme.

Lovely venue, nice room, cosy but stylish, good food. Dinner was good and breakfast was fantastic.

The young staff were friendly and accommodating. The conservatory was a lovely place to eat. Unfortunately our room at the back overlooked a yard, a skip and some bins, so we shut the curtains. As it was warm we had the windows open and were woken at 3.20 am by a cockerel but, it IS a rural location. The bathroom needed updating, it was carpeted and smelt musty, but it did the job. Perfectly adequate and reasonably priced. Suited to walkers staying for a night or two.

Lovely old Coaching Inn with large, attractive gardens.
Restaurant food was excellent, using local ingredients. Delicious breakfast too!
All the staff were friendly & attentive.
Lots of carparking.

We had a great stay - just one night - at The Talbot. The people were lovely, really helpful and friendly yet professional. The Talbot is a warren of rooms, as are the grounds, it is lovely! Being a bit older, it was very clean but a little worn in some areas. Our room was fine, the bed fairly comfy - a bit soft and creaky. Otherwise the room was well fitted with lots of hot water! We would come back if in the area again.

Property was set by a river, lovely outdoor garden, plenty of parking. Staff and the owner of the inn were very friendly. Food was very tasty, using only locally sourced ingredients. The inn has their own bakery and makes their own jams and preservatives. The strawberry jam was exceptionally tasty.

Staff were hard working and helpful, location was good and it was a good 24 hours.

Was a really nice room and a lovely breakfast!
Was loud downstairs with music until about 11-12 and then was woken up a few times by people talking around 3am downstairs. It is an older house so that might be why. All round would stay again and loved the location

A relaxing and pleasant weekend stay at the Talbot in such a lovely part of the English countryside. The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful at all times, they made us really welcome. Our bedroom was right over the bar and on the Friday night the noise did carry until very late; that said, it was good to find a country pub so popular with local clientele. We enjoyed the meals and the overall stay. If you want a hotel with loads of character and age in a beautiful rural setting, I recommend the Talbot; we will be happy to return there.

Very welcoming. Lovely community feel, used by locals and visitors. Food high quality, much of it sourced from own land and livestock and hops grown to make own beers. Quirky old building full of character and very dog friendly
