A lovely hotel with traditional Japanese decor. Very comfortable and well located.

Will be booking this hotel again, next time I visit. The bathtubs in the room facing the green walls are amazing.

Location is great! Right by the river. Next to all the restaurants and shopping.

This hotel was great! The entrance is by the parking garage (originally thought the restaurant was the entrance, would have preferred better signage). The lobby is stunning and the check in process was smooth. They spoke good English. There was an amenity station available in the lobby with a good selection. They had multiple sizes of pyjamas available! However the fabric isn't stretchy so the large was still snug on my bottoms (fitting about a Canadian size 10/12 for reference). They did have two long "night gowns" so was able to wear that to the onsen. No reservation needed for the onsen. Separated by men and women (need the room keys to access). No bathing suits, no tattoos, and some other rules. First time I used had the area to myself which was nice! There was an outdoor bath (covered) and indoor one. Very peaceful! The room was spacious and the bed was very large (king or maybe even larger)! Comfortable bed! Had two pillows per person (one was very soft with barely any stuffing.. felt like a piece of a duvet, and the other was filled with beads). Didn't love the pillows as such. The mattress was comfortable! Two subway stops close by. Umbrellas available to borrow! We didn't go to the restaurant in the hotel (breakfast didn't appeal to us and was 3,000 yen each). Overall a very nice hotel and would recommend!

We paid a lot for the upgrade to river view but the room was small and we had trouble finding spots to open our luggage. Breakfast was excellent and included. The beds hard and not especially comfortable. The lobby is a huge empty space with what looked to me tables covered with a red cloth and people sit on that. The onsen in the basement was nice. We could not get reservations for 2 days ahead in some of the nearby restaurants, but the Italian restaurant with tables by the riverside was pretty nice.

Outstanding location, central to all of the areas we were interested in around Kyoto. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Such a superb location to see Kyoto. Quite. Beautiful view of the river. Train station is almost on the property, same with bus stops, but you rarely need it because there is so many sights, food and shopping nearby. I love Japanese food, but if you need a break, absolutely try "Upit" burgers around the corner, some of the best I've had in any country. If I am fortunate enough to return to Kyoto, I will definitely stay here again.

It’s terrible experience as full of condensate along air grill in the entire hotel, full of strange noice along public bath floor and public area, not a music, not a sound, it’s a nuisance noice everywhere, terrible condition inside public bath area with any staff for cleaning. Overall terrible experience throughout my stay.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, lovely tub, and the garden was peaceful. Loved coming back here at the end of a day of exploring. Also in a great location!

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kyoto. From the time of check-in till we checked out, it was a memorable experience. Staff was kind, very respectful, hospitable, and helpful when needed. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of western and Japanese cuisine. We felt right at home. Arigato Gozaimasu for everything. I highly recommend your property and we will stay here when we visit Kyoto again next year.

This hotel was actually great and I still like it now. The problem is just the frontdesk staff R. Miki (if I remember correctly). We booked 2 nights, with parking. First night we arrived around 5pm and checked in. The second day when we were walking around we found this great restaurant and made a reservation. But we were told that we have to move our car when check out at 11 am, but the restaurant was literally next door. So I was asking if we could park 1-2 hours longer to 1pm so we can finish lunch. Because we were not told that we need to remove car when check out at the beginning, as we are paying 3000 yen per day already and a 48-hour 6000 yen is a reasonable request. But we are actually parking much less, 5 pm checkin and 11 am checkout. The frontdesk lady, R Miki, was very rude and became very rough when I requested to park my car there for 1-2 hours after check out at 11 am. If nothing can be negotiated, I think the hotel pnly need an A4 paper not human being. And the fact that I was not told this rule at the beginning is also very unfair. And this is not an unreasonable request at all. The next hotel we stay allow to park until 1 pm after checkout so that you have more time to tour the surrounding. Overall, this hotel is excellent in the hardware. But it is really unfortunate with the staff. This experience completely ruined our day, we ended up not having lunch that day and all plans were changed. Horrible staff!

Very nice hotel near walking distance of the Gion district and Nishiki Market. The service here was amazing, and our room was so cool. It was way bigger than most in Asia and had a cool view of a garden wall. I paid for a garden view and literally it was a super cool living garden in the center of the hotel. It was like being next to the rainforest! The shower (which also had a large bathtub inside the same enclosure) looked out at this rainforest and was just so cool to shower next to. I never heard any of the other guests either which is a huge plus to me. Nice and quiet! We needed transportation arranged to the airport which the front desk staff did for me. They were very helpful! If we ever go back to Kyoto, I would definitely stay here again.

Great property in Kyoto with beautiful river views. Very near many dining and shopping options. The staff was great too - very kind, friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the vending machine and they sorted it out immediately! We will definitely stay here again when we visit Kyoto.

The location is great! Very central yet not too crowded with people the min you walk out. Many good restaurants nearby and 2 min walk to the subway. Hotel staff very helpful and professional. Room is a good size (26m) but narrow and long. A bit hard to layout the luggages. Bath room counter height is low and not enough counter space. Despite these minor flows still a very comfortable place.

Easy access. Laundry and public bath are perks. Just didn’t have any coffee shop, bar, or dinner options within the hotel.

Loved the garden room. Small but doable! Very close to amazing shopping

We stayed in the garden suite. Seemed strange at first since it’s in the basement floor and you can’t get a sense of what time it is. But the garden wall grew on us and we liked the nature and the solitude. The onset was on that floor and that was such a plus we didn’t even know we’d get. Plus the coin laundry was so great to have and we love the breakfast in the morning. Most of all the location is perfect and the staff spoke English and was super helpful.
