The room conditions is very good but have a little bit noisy from nearby construction site at early morning

The James is a lovely hotel, close to Central Station and an easy walk into the centre of Rotterdam. Staff were all really helpful and spoke great English. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Rotterdam.

Great stay in central Rotterdam. Hotel was very spacious, with everything you need including great aircon and a fridge (rare in Europe). There is also a shared dining area and shop. Bed was very comfortable and the aircon worked very well. Staff were lovely.

I like this hotel. The room is clean and has good space. I would give it a perfect rating if the reception girl was friendly. I dealt with three front dest staff, the first one when we checked in did not make me feel welcome, no smiling, no extra word. In other two occasions, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Modern hotel in hartje Rotterdam

In relation to the cost of this hotel, it is excellent. Good position, beatiful room and the food hall at the 2th floor it’s very comfortable. If we’ll come back to Rotterdam, for sure this hotel will be our choose again.

This is a very average hotel. Pictures look a lot better than what you actually get. I got the superior double room. It was quite small - the bed took up most of the space and you couldn’t really get around it to the other side. Kind of had to shimmy around the edges. There are very few plugs for some reason. No conditioner or lotion in the bathroom. Toilet was separate from the bathroom which was nice… nobody helped me with my massive bags they just gave me a trolley. Second floor has a lounge where you can get plates and stuff and snacks which is great, you pay yourself there. It’s good for the price that I paid, but definitely not a 4 star.

Add city tax on my Expedia booking when I come. “Miss taking“ to give lower category room for my booking when I check in. Front desk staff in the day when I check out, was rude, careless and refusing to give her name for this review.

The James Hotel is beautiful. The staff were friendly and upgraded our room. The gym facilities are well kept and clean. The room was spacious and clean.

The accommodation was easy to reach. My only complaint is that the toilet or shower room wasn't that clean, I expressed these complaints but the next day it wasn't that clean either.

Great hotel right in the centre of Rotterdam. The room was spacious, clean, bright and well decorated. The study space was large and very welcomed when doing some holiday admin! The room had air conditioning, which is essential in the summer months. The hotel has a nice mini market on the second floor with a nice chill out space. The market had a good selection of pastries, snacks, toiletries and alcohol you can purchase 24/7. They also include some gluten-free snacks, which was welcomed for my partner, who is coeliac. We would have rated this hotel 5 stars, however we had a couple of minor issues. Our key card stopped working twice during our stay, so we had to make our way back down to get it reprogrammed (thank god for 24/7 reception). Our fridge was either awful, or broken; in either case, we told reception to see if they could fix it. There was no change to the fridge, so our assumption was that the mini fridge wasn't great, which was quite annoying as my partner has an allergy, so we tend to buy things in a supermarket and store them for later. It's fair to say a couple of food items went bad, and we had to buy them fresh the next day. Overall, we would 100% stay there again and recommend this hotel! Hopefully next time the minor things would be resolved.

A great place to stay.

Very good value hotel at the heart of Rotterdam. Walkable from central station and to attractions like cube houses and markthal. Only minor issue that the fridge in the room is not working.

Great hotel in a great location for shopping, dining and exploring. Lifts can be slow during peak periods particularly in the morning.

The room was pretty dark, and poorly lit rooms tend to feel dirty. The elevator also wasn’t working property, and the button need to be held down for the elevator to move. No dead bolt for the room, feels quite insecure.

Very expensive for a fairly basic room however we had a great stay in a lovely city.

This was our 2nd visit and we enjoyed it as much as our first. Friendly staff and great family room.

Nice staff at the reception, but it feels that they have to do everything. In my initial room air conditioning and tv remote control did not work and it took some discussion to get a new room. Reception staff do well despite seemingly being in charge of a lot of different tasks. There is no served breakfast or breakfast buffett, but a little shop were you have to buy food. Selection is limited and quality not particlualry good, odd choice of "feeding" guests for a 4 start hotel. Feels more like a little supermarket with a coffee machine.
