We arrived at the Hotel in the evening, the front door was locked and we had to wait a while for someone to let us in. The reception only speak Spanish, we do not but we got by. The receptionist took us to our ‘room’, IT IS NOT A ROOM, IT IS A BOX WITH A BED INSIDE! We booked a room not a bunk. There is no room around the bed at all, therefore no room for luggage etc. The electricity in ‘the room’ did not work, no lighting at all and no power. The ‘room’ had a very unpleasant odour, we could not stay in this ‘room’. We advised the staff we could not stay, as I say they do not speak English and we do not speak Spanish. I immediately booked another hotel on hotels.com. The next morning I contacted hotels.com as I could not get to speak to anyone at the hotel who could speak English. After many calls with hotels.com they advised they would look into this for me and get back to within 72hrs. After 24hrs hotels.com came back to me to advise they could not get the Modular Suites hotel to agree to a refund and they have now closed the matter. Unbelievable!!!!’

Bed is good but the washroom and shower were the smallest and narrrowest I ever used.

It is a great option for those who would like to be near the center of the city, have a secure place to stay, and plan on being out of the room to explore more than in the room.

I think I made a big mistake when I reserved this hotel. I don't know if I was distracted but when I got there I found out that I did not have a real room ; it was just a something like a big locker, a whole in the wall where they have accomodated a bed and another medium size locker for my suitcase. I think this information was not clear when I made the reservation. As soon as I saw that I left and did not stay there. A refund would be welcome!

Absolutely superb! Both the owner and the manager were really kind and welcoming. Everything was spotlessly clean - the rooms, showers and kitchen. Great amenities in the kitchen and really thoughtful touches e.g napkins, jam. Thank you Modular Hostels for a great stay!!

We stayed for 6 nights: nothing special to complain about :)! The staff was wery friendly, we slept good and the location was great (you can easily walk almost anywhere you want)

Staff was super attentive, kind, and had everything you need for vacation. Would definitely go back!

The staff was super nice and gave me amazing tips about what to do in Madrid. My room was great and they gave me nice amenities. The share kitchen is also cool. The only problem on the hotel is the size of the outside shower and the really tiny walls. I could hear all the guests noise in the night. It could be a problem.

I really like my stay here. The Modular room we had was very comfortable. The communal facilities were very clean. The kitchen area was excellent. We did find it get a bit warm in our cabin but overall this was an excellent place to stay. It was also close to the centre and next to underground station.

i was impressed on the room,its my first time to sleep on a small room like that,so neat and clean,shower and washroom are clean too..
