Vitascope is located in the ideal spot. It’s located next to a restaurant and convenient store. It’s only a few blocks from Bourbon Street. The inside is quiet and you don’t hear all the noise from the street. I had two concerns. Food was accidentally left out and ants were coming out of the wall for the food. To stop the ants I had to put a line of dish soap in the crack by the sink which helped. The other concern was having directions on how to work the television. It would have been nice to watch tv while eating a late night snack. Those two things aren’t deal breakers, so I will definitely stay here again.

This apartment was amazing, and in a very good location right on canal street. The access was simple and it had everything we needed. The street is very noisy because of cars that go through canal st with VERY LOUD music but that’s all around canal and surroundings, so overall a great stay!

I write this review with Care. Absolutely beautiful place, clean & classy on the inside of unit.. I did address the issue that my phone sent me a notification saying that there were camera devices in that apartment whenever I walked in. I called them finally, I got a hold of somebody and they told me it was noise monitor in the unit.I find that false as I couldn’t barely hear due to noise outside. With that being said, It left an uneasy feeling inside the unit whenever (female traveling alone) should not feel that way inside. But at the same time whenever I address the issue with the detector, I also address issue of needing an extra blanket and they were quick to respond and send somebody over to give me a blanket so I find my overall experience good.

This property is perfect for a group of people. I didn’t need to speak to anyone throughout my stay. They gave clear instructions as to how to enter the building. I will say there are very few lockers to count on the locker hold before check In. The AC worked but the front bedroom wasn’t as cool as the rest of the apartment. The elevators worked the entire time. There’s multiple stores and culture right below you so you have everything you need! I would recommend and stay there again!

Loved the location and the apartment. Should upgrade to a smart tv so people won’t have to download an app to watch tv. Also should have staff on site 24/7 or provide more towels so people won’t have to wait hours for them.

The good: The two bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor was perfect for our stay - in a busy location on the edge of the Quarter, on Canal. Walking distance to everything we needed, and a bodega downstairs for essentials. The A/C was crisp, and the full kitchen was great! The luggage storage came in handy - as was the option to check in early and out late for a small fee that was worth it! The cost of the apartment was very reasonable and we felt it was a good value! What wasn’t great: Sadly, a few things like late into the night volume and early morning dumpster noise interrupting sleep every single day at 5am was a big downside. Noise is to be expected, especially in a city like NOLA, but soundproofing is needed. As other reviews stated, the warm water took a long time to heat up - thankfully in July we didn’t miss it too much - but the broken elevator on day one was also a let down as we had to haul our things up the long staircases. A few times the code for the door didn’t work, and we had to wait to be let in. And lastly, the chicken shop downstairs was cleaning their grills and the smoke set off the fire alarm at 7am, which meant the entire building had to evacuate until the fire department came. There are a lot of great things about this property, but we definitely left feeling exhausted. I’d consider booking again in an off-peak time, or perhaps on a higher floor.

This was our first time in New Orleans. This was located within walking distance of many attractions. Nice place and fair price.

An overall good experience. The unit was spacious. I loved the large windows and the location was extremely convenient. What I found to be annoying was the television does not have cable or local channels. I spent a long time trying to program the television before calling to learn that I would have to "cast" streaming from my phone. Also, I was slightly annoyed because the water pressure was weak and the water was not as hot as I would like. But knowing these things, I would stay at this hotel again.

Our stay at Sonder was very nice. We love the accommodations that we had. The location was perfect and in the middle of everything, the rooms were clean and spacious and the free lockers were just what we needed to move around the city freely before check in and after check out. I also love the security and ease of getting in and out of the building. So helpful. We had a couple of hiccups on our trip. The elevator was down and we stayed on the 4th floor. With it being so hot out that wasn’t the most pleasant experience. We also wanted to have a movie night but we didn’t have the right connections on the tv to use Netflix or other smart apps. Next time it would be helpful to mention that in the package. Lastly, towels, we ran out by day 3 , maybe providing enough for each day/night or laundry detergent would be helpful.

Very nice apartment, elevator went down twice but we expected it with the prior reviews being kept in mind. Otherwise it was fantastic!!

The Vitascope was a great stay! Apartment style property with plenty of room. Location was perfect, close to attractions, restaurants, etc. Downfall - SOUND! Older building, corner unit, quite loud. Not so much street traffic but the side street is an alley way with multiple dumpsters for businesses. Early morning cleanup with loud trucks banging. Might also consider an eye mask, blinds are not black out.

Awesome property. Well maintained and overall great place to stay. Only negatives were that the rooms at night never seemed to cool off for us no matter how early in the evening we adjusted the air down. Common areas got really cold, but the rooms not quite so much. Oh. And the beds were a bit hard for our liking.

The place is very nice and clean. Here are the cons. I was upset to find out that the elevator is hidden in the back hallway behind a doorway that is not labeled so I walked up and down 4 flights of stairs until I was on the 4th floor one time and head the elevator ring and it’s when I found it. The body wash dispenser in the master bathroom was not working. The AC is super loud and makes it difficult to sleep. The last bedrooms with the windows was always warm even though the rest of the apartment was cold. The TV does not have any channel available. Only a screen saver with pictures. Finally, the hotel should advise that there is not way to park and unload in front or on the side of the building. The only parking lots are at least 1.5 blocks away and due to street work, it was a nightmare.

Took over 40 minutes to check in over the phone. Sonder needs all kinds on verification information in advance. No one available on site. Broken elevator required us to lug our bags and stuff up and down four flights of stairs. No person or front desk to speak with. We were unable to extend our check out time. We were unable to obtain WiFi password. No privacy lock on door. Housekeeping promptly poked in at 11 and continued to do so twice after we explained we were in process of leaving. Room was nice and clean, beds comfortable.

I think they should remove the keypad to make it safer for their guest.. As the keypad is right next to and in front of a very busy location which could possibly endanger a guest..

We loved Vitascope by Sonder in New Orleans! The location is perfect! We have stayed at Sonder properties before and really like them. The unit was modern and clean. We were in a 2 bdrm which was the perfect size. I would recommend the Vitascope and will definitely stay there again!

Cute place - more like being at home than in a hotel. It was clean and we felt safe there. Nearest parking about a block away - have to plan for loading and unloading of your belongings! Agree with other reviews - stains on the couch should be addressed. Overall very happy with the location and stay!

Parking not very easy or cheap but was accessible, once discovered. Floors need cleaning. Visually the appear clean, but are not. Need smart tvs in All rooms. Remote missing back cover, door lock plastic piece falls off door. Entry hallway to building needs a sign that says “lobby” & “elevator”

All was good except the elevator never worked. Not great for people who can’t walk up too many flights of stairs or May be disabled.

I absolutely loved the property! The building is amazing & I loved our apartment. It had everything we needed. The linens, bedding & shower were comfortable & relaxing after a long day sightseeing, the views spectacular (especially at night). So close to the French Quarter… right around the corner! I will definitely stay in a Sonder property again:)

Everything about this place is great except you have to be aware that you better bring ear plugs because Canal St is EXTREMELY loud throughout the night (people, music, cars/motorcycles) and you hear everything from the master bedroom. Otherwise great spot for being close to the French quarter and a beautiful apartment.

The access to the hotel was easy and the room was stunning. Very comfortable and the location was great. Walking to bourbon street was great.
