Lovely hotel, room was very clean, view from window was non existent, if it hadn’t been for that I’d have given 5 stars. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. A bit noisy on the second night due to a wedding, but it did finish before 12. Loads of room for parking

A lovely hotel in a spectacular and convenient location

The building is beautiful all be it a little tired in some areas. Staff were polite & pleasant but most seemed a little uptight. Possibly as they were understaffed. Beds were very comfortable. Room and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was excellent. Both continental and full English. There was 2 weddings over the weekend we stayed. Music was turned off at 11pm on Friday & 12 midnight on Saturday. Wedding areas looked lovely.

Had a nice stay, But was lead to believe by staff that breakfast was included with my room. After eating was asked for 14.95

Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast was excellent although some fresh fruit would have been good Our room was next to the boiler or heating equipment which we heard all night it would cut in and out so would ask for a different room next time

Great welcome, very helpful and professional lady on Reception. Room was really clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Not our first stay, and looking forward to yet another visit, when we travel to see our friends who live nearby. Thank you, all at Oaklands Hall.

The building is lovely and everything was very clean. But my real problem was with the response I got when I checked out and made a comment about the bed in room 1. We found the bed extremely uncomfortable, you could feel every spring in the mattress - clearly an old mattress. I did not sleep well at all so I made a comment on check out and the response of "oh sorry" didnt feel very genuine at all. I will not recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Great check in, good value stay

Because I was planning on arriving late, I’d informed them of this via email and received a reply immediately saying that was no issue. Great initial comms. Although the front door is huge, it wasn’t instantly obvious that was where I needed to go as it was closed and not particularly well lit. It could benefit from a sign! I was quickly helped at reception by a lovely assistant who was helpful and processed me quickly. Off to my room I went. What a beautiful building! I was in room number 1 which I investigated quickly. A slightly bizarre layout in the bathroom amused me. The shelf was randomly placed as far away as possible from the sink, which was where it logically needed to be. Not to worry, it was all clean and in working condition. Not so good was the bed. When I sat on it, there was a lot of creaking and it felt as if it was on a tilt. It was also as if I was sat on a board, not a mattress. Closer inspection revealed a 4” thick mattress which I was able to compress to virtually nothing, simply with my hand. I took the rare decision to call reception and request a room change. The same assistant was really helpful and was able to find me a replacement room. The second room was significantly better and I had a good nights rest. Breakfast was lovely, 10/10 for the staff. Every one I encountered was lovely. It was just the bed which let things down. The lady on reception did inform me that she had passed on my comments to management.

The Hotel was beautiful & so peaceful. Lovely setting,& spotlessly clean. All staff encountered went above & beyond to make our stay wonderful. Great section at the bar & the restaurant food was excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Thank you.

Staff were excellent - efficient and friendly. Comfortable and clean. Food was excellent. Large car park. Something was noisy at 3.30 one morning - sounded like a large mill-stone being dragged across a stone floor - maybe a ghost !!

Staff were helpful and polite. Food was the best I have had in a hotel since we came out of the covid lockdown. Plenty of parking for my large van. It's a bit of a maze finding your room and never saw a lift. My only disappointment was the shower over the bath, hardly and water pressure it trickled out but didn't have time to run a bath, water pressure was fine in the bathroom taps!! I would certainly go back and it will be my first choice when working in Grimsby.

Love staying there, never not had a good time. Good people. My one minor gripe would be they need a new coffee machine for breakfast time that makes a decent coffee lol. Otherwise love the gaf

Booked this hotel due to its good proximity to Grimsby, very quiet in its own grounds with plenty of parking. Breakfast was great value for money and I had an enjoyable stay.

Overall, a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the whole hotel was clean and comfortable, and the room was spacious and well-furnished. There's plenty of on-site parking, and the hotel is far enough away from any roads that it seems almost completely silent. My only criticism would be the lack of air conditioning, not helped by a thick winter duvet in the middle of summer, which led to a very hot and uncomfortable night. I understand it's quite an old building and it was my choice to keep the window closed overnight (to block insects, light, and noise), but hopefully air conditioning can be installed, and some investment in more climate-suitable duvets would go a long way. However, I was still pleased with my stay, and I would recommend this hotel.
