Room was very basic with no tea/coffee making facilities. There was a shared kitchen with lots of unopened packets left inside the cupboard above the cooker. Pool was lovely and great views from the communal area. The TV in the room was very small and the volume wasnt loud enough to hear over the air conditioning. The air conditioning was very poor. The bed was very firm and we were only given one pillow each. Remember to take your own water as there was none available. The breakfast was adequate.

All in all a nice B&B for a stopover. Great Pool

We were on the 1st floor of the villa, and although we’d booked a private bathroom this wasn’t part of the room but across the corridor which was shared with 2 other rooms. Not ideal in the middle of the night!
Window to view was very small and didn’t have a curtain, but actually the location is lovely (10 min drive to Sienna) and breakfast is adequate. Can imagine the pool would be lovely in summer.

Pleasant people . Place is difficult to find and poorly marked.

Very goodplace to stay to visit Siena.

The photos are very misleading - this is a very small property, whereas the photos make it look like a huge villa. The pool is very small. The view from the pool area is beautiful though. Our room was fine, but generally a bit run down. Breakfast was solid. The location is pretty far outside of Siena so you need a car to get into the city. Next time, I would stay more in the center of Siena.

Our room was a bit small but very nice. The property was beautiful with a nice pool and a couple of areas to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the view.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip.
Having a car would be helpful but we used the bus to Siena a couple of times. If you do this make sure to buy tickets beforehand as they are more expensive on the bus.
Overall we loved our stay and would visit again.

We loved our stay a Casale Virgili. Roberto and his staff were all nice and accommodating and made our stay very pleasant. Casale Virgili is like coming home to your mom's home but in Tuscany. The rooms are very basic but ours was clean and comfortable and a good size. Breakfast in the morning was great and there was plenty of food for you to choose from before discovering the area.
Casale Virgili is located outside of the Siena city center, but close enough that driving there was not an issue. It was also pretty good location to see the neighboring and tourist towns in the region as well.
The pool area was clean and nice and had a great view.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to lay your head down after a day of doing the Tuscan countryside than this place if for your. Quiet, comfortable and homey.

Nice view from the property, beds are good. Breakfast is ok but mainly cake, not much wholegrain. Not located in centrum so a car is preferred and they have good parking facilities.

Great place for a stay near Siena, smaller place with gate and breakfast included

We stayed four nights in this historic house.
What worked for us:
1. Staying close to but not in the city. The bus stop was a 3 minute walk away and we bought tickets from the newstand next to it.
2. Clean and pleasant surroundings.
3. Alessandra the charming owner who was helpful with recommendations.

First the positive; the manager, Roberto, was friendly and did what he could to try and make our 1 night stay (which should have been 2 nights) tolerable by giving us a room with a REAL private bathroom. Now the stuff you need to know before you book a room and what is NOT posted here on the Hotel.com website. The room that they wanted to give us had a detached "private" bathroom that we would have had to pass through the COMMON living room (in our case it was being shared with TWO other families) and across the COMMON hallway. The door to the "private" bathroom is right next to the TWO doors for the other TWO family's rooms. Sooo, picture this, you have to use the restroom at some point during the night or early morning. On your way to your "private" bathroom you cross through the COMMON living room, where little Jimmy is playing with his toy truck and across the COMMON hallway, where one of the wives of the two families (and her little girl) are coming out of their room so your paths cross precariously close, as a matter of fact, wayyyyyy to close! Can you say awkward! Hopefully, before you left your room for your potty adventure you get fully dressed so that things don't get really weird, if you know what I mean! All I'm saying is, Hotels.com needs to make the above so-called "private" bathroom issue very clear to those interested in booking at this hotel. In our case, they did NOT so this stay ended up being a total disaster. We ended up leaving a day early.

So friendly owners. The room was ok. The view is very nice. Pool was not cleaned but we sat there and enjoyd the view. Its a bit noisy from the traffic. Good parking. The wi-fi was not good. Breakfast ok. No fruit.

Quiet, comfortable, fabulous view. This property is not in town and it does not offer lunch or evening meals. We had a car, free parking, and found several good places nearby to eat. This is the place to stay if you are exploring the wine country.

Amazing room in a beautiful Tuscan vila, minutes away from Siena centre. Great staff, service, good breakfast. Perfect Tuscan get-away!

Roberto and staff were extremely nice and willing to help In anyway. The wine cellar was small but awesome to see. About a 10-15 wall to catch the number 9 bus. Just make sure you are actually and at a bus stop with a sign. We missed it the first time because we were at a different place. I usually prefer a full queen or king size bed, not two twins pushed together. Other than that it was will worth the money.

We stayed at the Casale Virgili for 4 nights. The location is just a short drive away to all the basic amenities we needed. The grounds, buildings and views really provide you with a wonderful Tuscany experience. We had the ground floor 1 bedroom suite which was very spacious. One of our most favourite experiences at Casale Virgili was spending time with Kettie the dog. She is very friendly and pleasure to be with. Roberto who runs the Casale Virgili was very helpful and a really nice guy. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice location on the outskirts but not to far. Great staff. Pretty good room. Beautiful scenery.

After site seeing throughout northern Italy with all its beauty and history, we really needed a place to just kick back and enjoy its country side and this was the perfect place to do just that! Probably the best of all the places we stayed. The staff was wonderful and treated us like family. We had requested a nice local restaurant with local cuisine and were absolutely blown away by the place that was recommended. Exceeded my expectations!

Casale Virgili is definitely a great summer location. I went in spring and although getting warmer, the room I had was a lower room at basement level - and it felt quite cold and clostrophobic during the day - at night it didnt matter as heaters worked well. Also being on the lower level every time the upstairs chairs or tables move its really loud. I suggest they put mats down! On the plus side the outdoor table and garden were lovely and you could sit out there all day. The wifi was good as it was avail inside and out. As it was April the pool was still covered so cant comment on that but it would have been amazing. They sold wine which was good however the downside being no food places nearby and they didnt encourage any cooking - as a single female with no car it was a bit limiting at night. The day bus is great. It goes right to the city at Piazza Gramaci bus stop and via the train station. Id recommend but get a top level room with a window. Enjoy

It could have been more useful to have a kettle and cups/glasses in the rooms as it was very unconfortable to go and interrupt a staff dinner party to ask for a couple of glasses one evening and did not have any hot water to prepare my medicine for both the evenings spent there. Other that that everything was very nice, breakfast was quite ok also.

The hotel staff is very friendly. They make you feel like home. The view from room as well from swimming pool is awesome.

It was a beautiful and peaceful place with a short drive to the city centre.
The room was cosy and clean, great shower and hot water.
The owner was extremely helpful and pleasant. He had great knowledge of the surrounding areas and gave us great information.
The pool and the gardens were clean.

Stayed 2 nights with 3 adults and 3 children between 2 rooms. All the staff was great, the gentleman working reception spoke fluent English and had plenty of recommendations for things to do and how to get around. The breakfast was a nice, normal Italian style with pastries and various coffee's to order plus some yogurt, bread and fruit.
The area around the hotel is nice to hang out with and good enough for the kids to run around a play a bit outside plus there is a nice view of a typical Tuscan landscape. The pool was closed but looks like it would be great in the summer!
The hot water wasn't working in 1 of our showers but it was late and since it was working in the other room I didn't bother the owners.

This hotel is located on the outskirts of town, away from the hub of activity. While some would find this inviting...we found it very difficult to find, little signage and after traveling overnight, totally exhausting.
When we finally arrived, Roberto was warm & caring. Our room was small and located in a basement type of setting so it was dark and the bedding & towels were scratchy!
The area surrounding the property is lovely with great views of the valley. This hotel has a small wine cellar from where we purchased an outstanding, "Brunello!" This was costly @ $35 per bottle but our nerves outweighed "common sense.

Best place we stayed at for out whole trip. Lovely setting and great facilities. Beautiful house and great views. The family is very friendly and helpful. Convenient as only 10 minute drive to Siena but feels as if you are in the countryside. We were allowed to use the barbeque facilities one night which was a nice break from eating out. The only downside is that there is a noisy motorway close by.

The most amazing experience and wonderful hotel, beautiful views, very friendly and helpful staff, good sized pool, a good breakfast with amazing coffee and perfect location. My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in total during our tour around Tuscany, frankly this was our best stay, just outside of the hustle of Siena, a quick and easy 5min drive or 15-20min bus ride into town. Roberto was very helpful even on our last day he took us to Euorpcar to collect our hire car as I didn’t know where it was which we are very grateful for. We were able to bring our own lunch / dinner / wines, free use of a fridge (Warning: we found that not many B&B / Hotels allowed use of a fridge during our stay around Tuscany). I would be happy to stay again in the future.

Great spot outside of Sienna, and a very pretty location. Rooms were good and lots of free parking on site. The breakfast selection was somewhat lacking, but we did enjoy swimming in the pool on -site.

A very pleasant small place. Charming and authentic, far more enjoyable than a large hotel. Nice pool and outlook to surrounding countryside, lovely breakfast room, homely, comfortable. Roberto is most helpful and will advise on all thing without any unpleasant 'hard sell'. We had a very enjoyable stay.

What a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (although too brief!) at Casale Virgile. With the help of English-speaking Roberto, we were told about great restaurants and sights in the area that were not in any of our guidebooks. The setting of Casale Virgile is spectacular! Sitting outside under the shade of olive trees, drinking their private label Chianti and looking out over the green Tuscan hills is a memory of our trip we will fondly remember! The rooms were nice - with private and modern bathrooms. Shuttered windows allowed us to enjoy the view without obstruction. Breakfast was nice - coffees made to order, an assortment of cheeses and salamis, boiled eggs, juice, cereal, pastries and fruitt. The one drawback (and believe me - the only drawback we found) was the close proximity to the nearby highway. Road noise could be heard much of the time but we became accustomed and were able to ignore it for the most part. If we are fortunate enough to return to this beautiful part of the world - we will definitely stay at Casale Virgile again!

We stayed here for a week while exploring Siena and Tuscany. The location is perfect -- easy access for car exploration everywhere and conveniently located to a bus to Siena on the days we wanted to stay around. The site itself is very beautiful -- many days we would have a restaurant lunch and just picnic for dinner on very good offerings from the grocery store less than 5 minutes away. While not luxurious, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The host, Roberto, is a gem! He is a fountain of information about the area and helped us plan many of our daily trips. I recommend the Casale Virgili highly -- we can't wait to go back!!
