Very nice hotel, perfect location, and good value for money. Would stay here again. Caveats: (1) parking is very expensive (40 GBP), (2) kitchen stops serving [no room service] after 9.30pm, (3) cost for a pet on Hotels.com and at the front desk were different (15 GBP vs 20 GBP). The staff, however, were VERY helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The stay was great.

Good location friendly staff food price's over the top on costs. Bar area even though it was very hot outside they had the air-conditioning set far too cold. Was asked if they could adjust it which they did but still too cold.

This hotel is literally right across the street from Windsor Castle! We were quite surprised and delighted! Hotel staff is amazing, food is amazing! Make sure you get tickets to Windsor Castle prior to your visit!!! We didn’t even think it would be a problem, but ended up spending 2days in Windsor without being able to see the castle, as they were totally sold out for 2 days!

Good hotel literally opposite the palace entrance. Do not park at the hotel though, it’s £40 for 24 hours and only in blocks of 24 hours so if you park for 25 hours it’s £80! Ridiculous price. Park round the corner under Waitrose at Windsor Yards which is £26/24 hours and you only pay for what you use.

Loved everything except the coffee at breakfast; it tasted like it came from a Mr Coffee machine, funky. The breakfast was great but not the coffee; they will charge you for the “good” coffee out of the cappuccino machine! All the hotels from Belfast, Donegal, Liverpool, York, Bath and now London have provided me with awesome espresso and cappuccino. Macdonald Hotel CEO! Lighten up and loosen that money belt

Lack of staff

As per other stays at Macdonalds hotels the rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. I enjoyed a comfortable and relaxing stay here

Beautiful hotel and room with friendly staff. Perfectly situated for exploring Windsor Treat yourself and get breakfast in bed :)

Very easy service

Hotel is very central. Short walk to Windsor Castle

Impossible to understand staff member at check-in (English poor/spoke v quickly/accent v strong). Mid-check in she twice left us to assist a very rude & pushy courier. I had to be forceful with the courier to make him wait, which I was not happy about having to do. Breakfast hosted in a poorly lit meeting/conference room instead of the much more pleasant looking restaurant, and food was poor in quality Door to bathroom (room 127) contains a large piece of opaque glass & is directly opposite the bed so if one of you needs the bathroom at night, others are awoken by the main room filling with light - v strange design choice. Shower was over a built-in bath - horribly unsafe to climb in/out of as the side of the bath is higher than average & has a deep shelf around the edge. Could’ve requested room change but was only there one night & desperate to sleep. Mini fridge adequate but not fixed in place so if you accidentally move it when opening the door, as i did, you will see through a cut-out (in the bottom of the cupboard, where fridge is located) what appears to be months or maybe years of filth caked on the floor - would've expected this area to be cleaned every so often (that's not to say the rest of the room wasn't reasonably clean - it was). As for power outlets, for a hotel of this standard i would expect to find them both sides of the bed rather than just the one side. Main selling point is location, but it's not enough to make me stay again.

Of the two keys they gave us, one didn't work at all, then the second stopped working in the morning when we came back from breakfast.

Chose the hotel for our Windsor trip first of all for the close proximity to the castle. This trip was for a birthday present for my 80 yr young Mum who has always wanted to visit Windsor castle. The whole trip was amazing and the staff and facilities at the hotel made it even more special

A very beautiful hotel well run Lovely staff. Rooms very large and well appointed. Good bathrooms. Downstairs reception area very comfortable and spacious. Decor is very smart. Breakfast was good. Very close to Windsor castle, very close to restaurants and takeaways. Close to the river trips. All round excellent hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent location, the facilities are great and the staff friendly and helpful. However breakfast is NOT served until 0800 at weekends. We had booked breakfast with our weekend stay. Unfortunately we needed to leave by 0745. The staff arrange for a takeway breakfast for us to collect at 0700. I went to collect it a 0700, and it had been given to someone else. The staff were embarrassed and apologetic. So 30 min later when it did arrive it consisted of a cheese roll, pain au chocolate and a yogurt. Hardly £28 worth.

Had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel the staff were very friendly and accommodating especially the concierge service, breakfast was also very good and it was great to have a pot of coffee instead of pressing a button on a machine , location 10out of 10

As expected the hotel was very nice and the staff were very attentive. The location could not be any better if you are planning a tour of Windsor Castle as it is almost facing the entrance to the castle gates. It’s location is also perfect to walk to from the train station and the various restaurants, coffee shops and many ice-cream parlours.

Lovely stay - only issue there was no room in the hotel car park and hadn’t been advised of need to pre book

Almost impossible to find with scaffolding covering the front. Also hard to find the car park which incidentally cost £40 overnight. Having said that the service and reception areas were great. We had room number 201. Nice and roomy with a huge bed. Bathroom was big with a lovely big bathtub. However, we could not remove the bath plug so had to put up with a bath full of water all night and much to my disappointment, The espresso coffee machine didn’t work either. All in all a good stay but details need attention.

Great hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable bed and nice amenities available. Only downside was the scaffolding obstructing our view, especially as we were not informed about this beforehand.

Absolutely amazing hotel. Would recommend. However I called to say we were celebrating 30 years and the person on the phone said that they would do something special. This did not happen. So very disappointed. We only go away when it's a special occasion. All other hotel recognise this when we stay with them is a shame the staff here didn't 😒
