Great stay had a blast

From the Front desk to the wait staff, bartenders, housekeepers, entertainers and everyone else, the service and friendliness was way above what we expected.
We are definitely coming back here. Much kudos to the mgmt and entire staff for a memorable stay.

The service was top notch at this resort! All the employees i encountered provided great service. Drinks kept flowing and they even brought them to you on the beach.. Our room was nice and big, small imperfections but nothing too major.. We actually used our tub 3 times and only 2 of the jets worked. I DID NOT care for the Elite status thing, because my boyfriend only drinks Hennessy and he wasn’t able to get any the whole trip because of that.. I didn’t know about it until we arrived and wasn’t about to pay extra for it after already spending over $2,000. Other than that Jamaica is a vibe, true paradise! And you have access to the Riu Reggae and Riu Montego Bay for party vibes.

Staff was great, food was almost the same everyday. Very good but not a good selection. The rooms were out dated, extremely out dated, 80’s 90’s. I’m coming back soon.if it wasn’t for the staff I would cancel but they were very friendly and very entertaining. The tile in the shower was cracked. The dresser drawers were off the hinges.

The customer service was excellent. We had a great time. The only criticism we have is the TV is older, we didn't have a remote when we got there, one of our favorite channels wasn't working, the tv speakers were blown out and distorted. Everything else was great.

The hotel was extremely dirty. There were stains on the sheets, pillows, and pillow cases despite them cleaning our room every day. There were seats with fabric cushion on them with stains. Every time I received a new wash cloth I found hair in it that did not belong to me. All of the water on the resort has floaties in it. They have people that come to the beach in canoes and heckle you to buy things. They have people that stand outside of each hotel heckling you for rides and money. All they care about is your money. There was a point on the trip where they advertised free transportation to a club and back off the resort. They provided shuttle times for us to leave and return. The returning shuttle times were 1AM, 2AM, and 3AM. My family and I decided to catch the first shuttle there and the first shuttle back due to us going home the next day and needing to pack. When we went outside of to catch the first shuttle, we saw our drivers walking around, our shuttles parked, and a group of people waiting outside. After confronting one of the drivers they told us that the time had changed to them only leaving at 2AM and that if we really wanted to leave we had to buy a taxi. We sat outside on the steps for an hour waiting while taxi drivers heckled us. People from the club also tried to demand that we go back inside. Once 2AM came, there was a crowd of people pushing trying to ambush the bus to leave. This entire experience has made me never want to visit Jamaica again.

When I got to my room there was long blond hair everywhere to the point I had to ask them to change the sheets and mop the floors. Found little critters in the room as well, so I had to be sure to leave everything in my suit case and not leave it open. Other than room issues most of the staff was welcoming.

There are 3 RIU RESORTS connected (PALACE, REGGAE, MONTEGO BAY) after much research we chose the RIU PALACE. After visiting the other 2 upon arrival. We thought the RIU MONTEGO BAY was in our opinion was the nicest of the 3. The atmosphere is a bit more laid back at the PALACE but it’s a much smaller resort.
The entertainment was TOP NOTCH at all the resorts. The food was similar to a GOLDEN CORAL I would give it a 5 out of 10. The 24 hours food and room service was TERRIBLE!!
We went to dinner at the Asian restaurant ZEN and the STEAK restaurant they were decent. (Golden Coral with a garnish).
House keeping was GREAT!
Rooms were nothing special but not bad.
(BEDS were on firmer side)
Grounds were well maintained
I bought Tylenol (25tabs) and a small bottle of affrin at gift shop ($65). DONT FORGET ANYTHING or you’re gonna pay!!
If you care about your view double check room location, there are some(not all) terrible room views !
These resorts are in the airport flight line. You will have to pause your conversations as planes go over. (VERY LOUD)
If we were to go to Jamaica again we would stay in NEGRIL due to the plane traffic!
Drinks were great! Bring a YETI or similar. If you get frozen drinks they turn to syrup so fast because of the heat!
Beaches and Cabannas were to die for!!
OVERALL REMINDED me of a CARNIVAL CRUISE on LAND!
HAVE FUN!

Don’t be prepared to get the room you booked. It was 6 of us with 3 rooms, we all booked double beds and got there and they had none. The manager said they don’t book by how many beds which is dumb because every hotel, motel, resort does which is why rooms are called based off the bed size it is. Then she goes to say we would have to wait 2days for double bed rooms to be available. I recommend just doing a king size bed room and calling it a day.

It was my first time in Jamaica and I am happy I chose Riu Palace in Montego Bay. The resort was awesome.and I loved the idea that staying at the Riu Palace gives
you access to Riu Montego and Riu Raggae.
The food was great and the staff was friendly, helpful and pleasant. I would definitely be going back.

Had the worst experience ever, as it relates to privacy, there’s absolutely none at this place, staff uses their key and just walk in on you!

My stay here was great. Having access to the two sister resorts was a definite plus. Rooms were always cleaned, even 2x in one day. The food and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The entertainment was very good as well. I will be staying again.

My stay was pleasant. The food was good for resort food which I could appreciate since I'm a foodie. The omelette chef was always on point as well. The drinks were good to me. Many reviews complain about it being watered down but I disagree. Especially when I witnessed 2 individuals taken by wheelchairs lol. BTW the staff responded and acted accordingly to those that were drunk. Big kudos. Anyways, Winston was my favorite bartender, show him love! The entertainment crew was cool. Over at reggae I found the crew to be better but the one constantly on the mic at palace, dont remember his name, is the best of them all. He was energetic, funny, and always ensuring everyone was having a good time. 3 pools but one is MAINLY occupied at palace. Palace wasn't as impressive appearance wise compared to reggae and montego bay. But fortunately, you have access to all other properties while they don't have access to palace...ah ha! But as far as turning up, the other 2 properties are better. Just stay at palace though so you can go to all 3 as the perk. One negative ill say is the housekeepers are not mindful of the time. They will be outside the doors screaming to each other or on a phone convo, ON SPEAKER disturbing your sleep at like 6am to 9am. Like bruh! Lastly, the hotel is across the street from burger King, KFC, and some other local restaurants that were pretty good.

My sister and I stayed at the hotel, and overall, it was a great experience. However, we filed a complaint with the Expedia sales group and have been waiting for a resolution.
Scenario 1: Expedia overbooked the hotel. We booked this trip as a package a year ago, including an ocean-view room and flights. Upon arrival, the hotel informed us that they were overbooked and downgraded us to a standard yard-view room. However, Expedia charged us for an ocean-view room.
Scenario 2: A few months before the trip, we called Expedia and asked if we could add another guest to our package since we had two rooms. Expedia confirmed this was possible, and we paid for the additional guest. Ten days before the flight, the third guest had an accident and couldn’t make it. We contacted Expedia for a refund and cancellation, as the refund window was still open. Expedia stated that because it was an all-inclusive hotel package, they couldn’t issue a refund and advised us to speak to the hotel manager.
When we arrived at the hotel, not only were we downgraded to a standard yard-view room, but the hotel manager also informed us that Expedia’s sales group should handle the refund for both the downgrade and the cancellation of the third guest.
After returning home, we reached out to Expedia to clarify and request a refund for these two issues. We are still waiting for a response.
We’ve never experienced this with Expedia in the past, and we hope this issue gets resolved as soon as possible.

Stayed at Riu for 5 days and it was great. The food was good, there was a good amount of activities to do at the resort, my room was clean, the pools and beach was clean. Everyone there was friendly and nice. One thing I didn’t like was you have to book a reservation for all the restaurants expect for the buffet and most of the time the restaurants would be booked out. I guess you have to book 2-3 days before if you want to eat at one. Other than that I enjoy my time staying at Riu in Jamaica.

My stay was everything I wanted it to be. The staff are very nice and the Resort is nice and clean.

Overall I enjoyed myself. I’m happy I paid extra for elite, that was probably the best perk of staying here. I wish there were more activities and things to do. Very dry and boring. The entertainment team did do a fabulous job they have a lot of energy and keep everybody smiling. Again wish it was longer than just 1-2 pool games other than that nothings going on. Food was average, I wish there was more though. I felt at times I wanted to get a snack and nothing was available after 3:30 hour. I’d recommend staying at RIU palace so that way you have access to all 3 resorts. Water park was 12/10. Go early and you won’t regret it.

Like the facility, nice and clean, but didn't loke the entertainment, pool area or not having the opportunity to book dinner in the retaurants. We had to go to the other hotel Montego Bay for us to have fun.

My only issue with this property was the present mold in the rooms. Not just my room but my other friends and family rooms. They really should figure out other ways. Its black mold which is highly dangerous

The property is a beautiful setting and the facilities were amazing, and the service phenomenal. The only setback is it was very noisy with the younger crowd at the resort.

The hotel is certainly not a 5-star. Limited cultural experience of the island.

I have stayed at 2 other Riu in DR and Aruba and this was the worst. I waited in lobby for hours for room to be ready and we had to go back later to desk to inquiire and to being told our room had been ready 1 hour prior but nobody called us to inform.
We were missing a pillow in the room and it took us 2 hours to get it after 4 phone calls.
We were not told about the specifics dining accomodations in the nearby Riu hotels and we were rejected when we tried to get dinner inone of them and told we could only come there for breakfast and lunch.

The property is beautiful, and the beach is to die for. However, the level of cleanliness needs much improvement. The hallways are dirty, which made me wonder who oversees sweeping and maintaining them. I did not enjoy the food at the buffet. The food had no identity, aka "Blend."
