The city was dead and not much to do. The area was fairly quiet.

My family and I have been going to this hotel for over 30 yrs and it has never disappointed us. Our children learned to swim in the larger rectangular pool many years ago and last year we brought our grandson there for his 2nd birthday and he had a blast in the kids pools with our now grown son, his father. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Grounds are always kept nice and clean. Food is always fresh and tasty. I have recommended this hotel numerous times to family and friends. Will continue to frequent this hotel as long as they keep up their awesome establishment.

This was a nice stay. It met our needs completely. Friendly check in, safe, there was a guard all day and night. Right on the beach. A few things to know. The villas/rooms are not on the beach, there isn't a "view' from your room. Villas have a full kitchen and sitting room, a bathroom/dressing area and a bedroom with two quite comfortable double/full beds. The only room that has an air conditioner is the bedroom. It was very cool in the sleeping area, but the bathroom/shower, kitchen was warm. We wouldn't spend any time in the villa, only to change, get ready and sleep. Breakfast was good - the bar area was large and right on the beach with a view of the waves. Nice to be able to have a night cap after dinner and walking around the town. Front desk got us a taxi for the airport $110. The three small pools were nice. The beach is a dark sand/rocky beach, and there is a freshwater river running right next to the property, that flows into the ocean - that you need to walk across to walk the beach. Beautiful wave watching. Great central location in the middle of Jaco, walking to anywhere you need to go. We came from a stay at the beautiful and swanky Marriott property from a work trip, so this place was a few stars down from the place we came from, but it was good for what we needed for a couple nights.

The staff were wonderful and the room was clean. It was nice and quiet and we had a very enjoyable stay.

There are almost no dishes in the kitchen and the stove takes about an hour to cook an egg. The room was so hot we couldn't stand to be inside. The listing doesn't say that the air conditioning is only in the bedroom so unless you're sleeping the heat is unbearable. We were charged an extra $40 per night for my husband to stay. They claimed the pricing is based on one person and we were too tired to look for somewhere else to stay, having booked months in advance. They ALSO charged us for our breakfasts and emailed us a bill. The breakfast is also supposed to be included and the menu even says "if you are a guest, you may choose from one of the following breakfast items... pancakes, eggs and toast, etc." and they ask your room number. I'll be forwarding these complaints to Expedia, but I doubt they'll ever credit it back. I would NEVER stay here again! It's close to the main shopping strip and the pool was a nice relief from the heat of the room, but the property is very old and run-down. Even without over-charging us it wasn't worth it.

Overall we liked the location and the room and amenities for the price they charged. We had a wonderful ocean view. Gave us advice on a drop off laundry. Breakfast every AM We would go back

The staff was very friendly. The rooms/bathroom need upgrading. The grounds are very nice and the hotel is located in a perfect location. It’s on the beach and in walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, etc. Food and coffee was never served hot. The beach is littered with driftwood, etc. and needs to be better maintained.

Rooms are a bit outdated now but overall we had a wonderful time. My husband and I used to take Our kids here 2705 yrs ago during school vacations and summer and rented out the largest cabin that slept 8 with 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms..was the perfect size for our large family.

Great location. Away from the noisy street. Nice selection of food at the onsite restaurant. A.C.worked well and ocean view well worth it.

Perfect location, near the main street, full of shops and dining options. We recommend a yummy French coffee/bakery called Manon. Super friendly and real French treats.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tangeri Hotel in Hakko, Costa Rica my room was very nice and kept clean. The grounds were beautiful and just a few steps away from the pounding ocean. The staff at reception and at the restaurant were exceptional, and the food at the restaurant was very good

Staff was awesome, restaurant service and food good, room clean and spacious, pool area great, beach area not pretty full of debris no clear way to get to beach due to a canal. Surrounding town dirty with garbage and unpleasant smells.

The grounds of the property were very nice, 3 different pools, nice restaurant overlooking the beach, super friendly and attentive staff, good location due to being right on the ocean and a 2 minute walk you can be in the downtown Jaco. I did notice the waves in Jaco seemed much bigger than Manual Antonio area, and the ocean/beach had a lot of driftwood/debri getting washed up. Overall though we loved staying here, rooms were a little outdated but very clean and a great value..

Rated as 4.3 on Expedia, that’s very generous since the property is “tired” and needs a refresh.

My husband and I chose this Hotel because it was right on the beach and in a good location, relative to the rest of Jaco beach. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast each morning, with the friendly and helpful hotel staff always willing to answer our questions. The food and drinks were good, all the facilities were kept very clean, and there were 3 pools so you never felt like you were crowded when swimming.

Peaceful and quaint. Right on the beach. Beautiful ocean views. Front desk staff was amazing and accommodating especially Charlyn. Food at the restaurant was delicious.

Staff is incredibly welcoming and willing to give me TONS of information about the area. Place is BEATIFUL, right on the beach ad with a great restaurant.

Easy checkin but our room wasn’t ready and parking was all full so we had to go fill and hour elsewhere. When we returned, we didn’t get any detailed instructions about the resort like where breakfast was served in the morning so had to ask later. Room wasn’t very clean, especially in the bathroom and the fixtures and electric plugs are old and run down. Not a most awesome room for the price though the location is great! 3 Pools are all different depths to kids can stay safe. Warm and perfect at the end of our long driving day.

Walk out the back gate onto Jaco beach, can't beat that for location. There are also a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. The Tangeri restaurant was excellent. The bar is open air right on the beach under a grass roof. The rooms are plain and old but very clean. The bed was comfortable and the AC is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Hotel, Excellent Location, Excellent Friendly Staff!

Lovely hotel! We loved the local feel of this property. It's quite basic but very clean and well kept. The ocean view from the rooms is unmatched. Also, right in the center of town so easy to walk to things, yet very peaceful and quiet. The beach bar is also just great!
