I’m hesitant to give a 5 star review as I’d like to keep this little gem all to myself:) our unit was steps from the sand and onsite restaurant. Rolando was helpful, and he checked on us multiple times during our stay. You could not ask for a better location. Truly wonderful experience.

This is the quaintest little beachfront property! There are different size rooms, so make sure and get the size that’s best for you and your family. It’s in the heart of the little shopping district and right on the beach. They have their own restaurant and restaurants all around for dining pleasure. I probably wouldn’t stay more than two or three nights at this place as it is very small, but it is perfect if you want a beachfront bungalow. There is secure parking as well. Carla is the kindest front desk clerk and will help with anything!

We had the room. We could see and hear the ocean from our room, which was peaceful and beautiful. The hotel didn't have a pool but the ocean was 20 steps away. The staff were genuinely friendly and always willing to help. The AC worked very well. The bathroom was tiny but functional. It was definitely my favorite hotel during my trip.

This is the best little property on the beach for a one to three night stay! The staff is super helpful and the parking is secure. You were literally right in the middle of all of the shopping, dining and nightlife, not to mention a fabulous beach!

Small hotel with only 7 rooms and just steps away from the beach. Loved the location, close to restaurants and other shops. Great staff, especially Rolando, very nice person. The only issue was the toilet, the whole bathroom system needs to be updated… but we will definitely go back!

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel La Palapa! The accommodations were clean and comfortable and safe. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were all amazing — so warm, friendly, and helpful! The proximity to the beach was incredible, as well as having so many shops within close walking distance (including grocery stores, drug stores, souvenir shops, and lots of great restaurants). The area was all very clean, and I always felt safe, even as a solo female traveler. will definitely stay here again!!

We love this place for the convent location on the beach and in the middle of town with all the shopping and restaurants outside your door. Offers a clean room and air-conditioning. As many of the small properties in Tamarindo, you can NOT flush toilet paper in the toilet. The large hotels and condo do have plumbing facilities that allow you to flush the paper.

We love this place! This was our second stay and you just can’t beat the location! Our room captures the beauty of the ocean only steps from the beach with plenty of lounge chairs and restaurant just steps away. Staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Make sure to get a massage right there on the beach.

We had a great time at La Palapa. The location was excellent. The staff was excellent and we will be staying there again.❤️

This is our third time staying at Hotel La Palapa which probably says more than anything else I can say! The staff is great, the rooms are clean and the beach is just steps away.

This place is right on the beach! It has its own parking and its own private area with chairs and hammocks. It is right next to a restaurant and on a Saturday night we could hear distant music (not from the restaurant). Suite 1 is spacious with just about a full kitchen, and the A/C worked well. Staff is really nice. Would definitely stay here again if we're looking for the energy of Tamarindo.

This was a great place, especially for the money. Right in the center of the beach and when you walk outside you are in the middle of all the action as far as walking the city. The bungalows are small but really nice. We had one of the upgraded ground floor rooms first two nights we loved (walls orange in picture). The last night we switched to another room that wasn't upgraded as not available and it was to small, knees pressed against bathroom wall when using the toilet, there was as step down in middle of room somewhat dangerous and removed space from room. The restaurant is very pricey but the food was good, especially the fried red snapper! Two for one drinks all day and nice lounge chair area is a plus. We walked entire beach and if I had to choose again from the beachfront hotels anywhere close to this price range in this prime location this would be the one

We loved the hotel. Not fancy but very comfortable. As a small hotel, you feel like part of the family. Rooms are not large but they make a great use of the space available. Our favorite aspect was as soon as you walk off your patio your toes in the sand

From reception to departure, staff goes above and beyond to take care of you. The location cannot be beat. The room was fabulous! The grounds are remarkably clean and constantly maintained. And if you get a chance to treat yourself, get a massage from the ladies that operate on site. Magic hands!

This hotel was ideal for our family. It had everything we needed at a fair price. The staff was friendly and was there for us if we had any questions or needs. It has beautiful grounds and is right next to the beach. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something practical in a perfect location.

We had an amazing experience. Carla was such a darling. Everybody working there was so nice and friendly and made us feel like home. Our room was right on the beach. The massage service was great. The food is really good.

Stayed in Studio 1 & 2. Both are perfect for a beachside getaway. Ronaldo, Carla and everyone are so helpful and friendly. Central to beach, restaurants and shops. Can’t wait to come back.

What an amazing place! Room was perfect, comfortable and clean. Easy access to the beach, restaraunts, and shopping. Wonderful staff, can't say enough good things about our stay. La Palapa is our idea of paradise! Rolando was the absolute best, accomodated everything we needed, arranged all of our excellent experiences on excursions, and had advice for where to go and what to see. He made our stay something special, and we look forward to coming back to visit!!!

This was the cutest beach stay! We absolutely loved the beachy “surf shack” vibe (this was a good thing to us). It may not be for everyone, but it was perfect for my friend and I for a couple nights. It is very humid here and the AC worked great and we stayed cool inside. The room was very clean, however there is a noticable mild musty/moldy smell when you first walk in, so if you are sensitive to that just be aware. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating, included breakfast was very good, food & drinks were reasonably priced. On of our favorite parts was the walkability to shopping, brewery, other restaurants. It is right in center of all of that. Rolando’s communication with me weeks prior leading up to stay until check out was outstanding. He really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. He helped arrange transportation for both my friend and I to the hotel arriving from different places. His attention to detail made a huge difference. I will definitely be back and will stay here again.

Such a convenient location to wverything in downtown Tamarindo and right on the beach! The staff was always friendly and willing to help. The hotel puppy was adorable and the cutest greeter I've ever seen! We had such a great experience that we extended our stay 1 night.
