Everything the hotel looks old, there are no amenities close by you have to travel to town to enjoy yourself. The food is disgusting and very over price. There contantial breakfast is very poor.

Wir waren drei Tage hier und haben es sehr genossen. Bei jeder unserer Fragen wurde uns geholfen und wir haben viele tolle Tips bekommen was wir noch unternehmen könnten. Ein Riesen Dankeschön an Mario, den Inhaber von San and Stan, der uns den Aufenthalt uns bei unseren kleinen „Holpersteinen“ weitergeholfen hat! Ein MUSS wenn man auf Jamaika ist, würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Die deutschen Besitzer sind sehr nett und es kann jeder Zeit ein kleiner Plausch an der Bar gehalten werden, die übrigens direkt an dem angrenzenden Strand liegt. Ein Sprung vom Pier am morgen in das durch den White River leicht abgekühlte Wasser lässt einen erfrischt in den Tag starten. Anschließend kann das Frühstück mit Meerblick genossen werden.

Die Getränkepreise sind relativ hoch.

Big spacious room, lots of space. Own private beach and they provide beach towels free of charge. Nice paintings on the walls. Included breakfast was good.

It’s quite outdated and a bit run-down: loose doorknobs, door to the bathroom not closing properly, furniture looks old, the rooms a bit bare. Parking is outside the property, not gated or secured. We were a bit nervous about leaving the car there, but they assured us it was safe and it was indeed fine.

La playa es de las mejores de la zona, luego de ir a varias, concluimos que por su privacidad y su ubicación y temperatura , al estar junto a la desembocadura del rio que sale alli logar un efecto de bajar la temperatura del mar.

el ingreso al hotel, es decepcionante cuando uno llega y se encuentra con una edificación muy antigua y a mal traer. El tema es que el hotel mira al mar y uno entra como por una puerta de servicio trasera...es algo que deverian mejorar.

A localização muito boa, com uma praia sossegada ao nossos pés, quartos com vista para o mar, vimos várias tartarugas marinhas.

Café da manhã desse hotel foi o menos gostamos da nossa viagem à Jamaica. Poderiam melhorar! Teve um dia que pedi o café da manhã jamaicano e veio algo que nem consegui comer, sei que existe uma variedade de coisas diferentes na Jamaica e provei em outros hotéis, mas aí me deram só uma opção que se eu tivesse visto o que era nem tinha pedido. Sugestão já que não tem buffet liberado é colocar fotos do menu jamaicano para o turista ver o que estão servindo.

Breakfast options were great. Location to the beach and waves were great. Staff was great and kind. Parking felt secure. Paddleboards were available. Beach towels were available for excursions and laying out.

The bathrooms didn't meet expectations (did not exactly look like the pictures on booking.com) and could use a little updating and sprucing up. The A/C unit was connected to a motion sensor that did not detect me nor my partner during sleep, so it shut off several times and we woke up to a hot room. The big minus was we were charged $40 USD for laundry that filled one plastic bag. *TIP: always ask the price for laundry services before using them. I found it unreasonably pricey for the size of load, but it was also on us to ask instead assume it would be $20 or under (what seems more of a reasonable range).

Quiet ,beach view ,near to town and attractions

Variety of breakfast .could have had a few more Jamaican options.

We had a premium room where we stepped from our terrace straight to the beach. We see the turtles in the morning from our terrace we also was snorkeling with them and after we went up the white river with the paddle board to the blue hole for free from the same beach the hotel is on. Breakfast was super, dinner delicious and the service was amazing. Will definitely return

My little paradise I was two times at this place before and they did so much renovation it is just amazing. We went with the paddle boards in the water to see the turtles who was born at the beach and still around. Every morning before breakfast we went in to the river beside the hotel to have a nice cool down. You can do so much at the hotel and pay not one cent like paddle boarding, snorkeling, swimming with the turtles, paddle boarding up the river to have a nice drink at the bar beside the blue hole. And in the evening we enjoy at the beach bar in front of the hotel with good reggae music and good drinks thanks to Ingrid! Also a big huge to Deon our breakfast queen who make our breakfast perfect with any request you have. Will be back soon Love you guys

The property being on the beach was just wonderful....Waking up to the waves crashing was very soothing and peaceful. The front counter staff Damian and the kitchen staff were exceptional...Damian went beyound his duty to help us enjoy our stay outside of the hotel.

First time having to request housekeeping services... However, when I brought to to the front counter staff Damian he got my room serviced promptly

The staff made up huge part of 10 rating Natasha, Damion and Deyan need special My massage on the beach with Claudette was very good

WiFi and TV was not consistent

It has a nice rustic look, balcony overlooks the sea. Waking up the the sound of the sea, calming and relaxing, looks just like the pictures did not disappoint. Staff was also helpful and pleasant

No microwave in room or blankets.

Sand and Tan felt like home away from home during our long weekend in Ocho Rios. It's a beautiful hotel, beachside, with a very caring & friendly staff. We had so much fun here! Breakfast every morning is delicious and relaxing. Spent most days swimming in the ocean and relaxing on the private beach. The hotel is right next to White River, close to waterfalls and rainforest, Bob Marley's 9 mile tour, etc.. Ochi has great food, fun nightlife & good vibes.

The beach

Where do I begin?!? The hotel gets 1 star because they had a private beach & all staff members were pretty friendly. The hotel is borderline shelter standard. From the appearance, to the decor, to the health violations. I didn’t want to spend another second inside. The lobby area is a small closet/room with furniture from 20 years ago. Leading up to our room, you can see abandoned storage rooms as well as other rooms used by staff members for various reasons, filled with junk. Our room door barely opened, as it was jammed with the floor. Yes! Jammed with the floor stopping it from opened. As you enter the room, you see a ripped ironing board with cloth that looked like it had been rubbed in the mud and left waiting for us. The open closet smelled of urine and was stained. The bed was so high! You had to jump up every night to get in & was sitting on wood and bricks. The air conditioner was FILLED and COVERED with mold. I had to ask for housekeeping, no problem. After she was done, she made it a point to let us know several times that she was. She wanted a tip. There was no way she was getting a tip. The room was still filled sand, tub had not been cleaned and we received no clean towels. This place has 20 rooms and I feel strongly that it should be converted into a shelter. It would do the community good. This is not a hotel or motel. People should not pay to stay here. The transportation company they connected me with also are a scam! Tony’s Transportation! We booked an excursion that I’ve been going to for the past 8 years. Several times per yr. This time, the transportation company stops about 5 mins before the entrance and tells us that were going to start at a different point, so we can get the full experience. What we found out was, they took us to the entry for locals, not tourists. The mgr for the company said we were paying the price we did (expensive) because all of our transportation services were private and we were getting the full service.

I love the fact that rooms were mere feet’s away from the water. The sound of water crashing made the sleep more enjoyable. The bed was super comfortable. The staffs were consistently cleaning the property. The curry chicken with dumplings & bananas was everything!! I almost forgot the staff was very courteous & professional especially the guy that check us in (I don’t remember his name).

The inability to get a wash cloth during our stay. The low water pressure experienced during showers. The flies seen during breakfast. Not anything majority. All issues that could be resolved quickly.

it’s was a nice stay, they have paddle boards that I used everyday to go to the river right beside the property. you see turtle everyday here it’s a beautiful place, rooms are properly equipped and clean. I definitely recommend this place.
