First and foremost, the gentleman at the front desk was one of the loveliest people that I encountered on my entire vacation. Such a warm and welcoming spirit. The hotel is very cute. It’s obviously old, but lots of work has been put into making it comfortable. It’s definitely unique and was comfortable. The location is fantastic. Just takes a few minutes to walk across the PCH to the water. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We had a great dinner just down the road. It was great that there was dedicated parking at the hotel, which was included in the price. I loved the little deck, we were able to sit and watch the sun go down and then come back up again the next day.
The only con was the A/C was SO loud. Like a freight train in our room. But it certainly would not stop me from staying again

If you're looking for a reasonable hotel literally 5 minutes from the beach, this is the one. The staff is so friendly and nice. Our room gave off surfer vibes with cool decor of surfers and the Huntington Beach pier. We were right near the street so you could see the waves from our room. Other than the occasional reving of a car engine, sound wasn't really an issue (Huntington Beach is a pretty chill neighborhood), we left the windows open all night and still slept well. Will definitely be back with my surf board!

This is a gem of an inn. From the hospitality the fun themed rooms and the awesome view and walk to the beach. This place has it all! You really feel an old slice of HB! 😍

This place was amazing to stay at. If you’re looking to get away and really have that beach goer vibe then this is the place for you. Safe,comfortable, and right across the street from the pier and shopping. Definitely recommend this place.

This was a wonderful stay. The front desk was amazing from check-in to check-out. We had a view of the beach from our room and the balcony was amazing for lunch and coffee everyday.

Fantastic property. Amazing customers service, I was warmly welcomed at check in. The room was clean and comfy. Amazing views of the beach. Very quiet, enjoyed the sun deck as well. Easy parking right underneath the property. Will def stay again!

This was a great spot with amazing access to the beach. It is an older property that needs some updating which is the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars but it was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Super friendly and helpful staff, liked sitting on the deck with coffee or a drink and watching the ocean. Loved the decor. Loved the proximity to the beach. My little girl loved that there were beach toys for her to use.

The room and bathroom lighting were substandard. Bathroom towel set was rust stained. Shower door was off the track. Their deck was nice as it had a view of the beach/ocean. In addition, it's across the street from Huntington Beach. The Surf Inn is retro 1950s.

Very close to the beach, Huntington pier, pubs, restaurants and shops. Great location for exploring Huntington beach! Its next to the main road, so you can hear some noise from the main street - we didnt mind, but just to mention. Parking is under the appartments and when you can drive and park, its absolutely ok :).

Its a no-frills well-located for walking to the pier, shopping, bars, and restaurants kind of place. It had some cute touches in terms of surfer style and staff was helpful. It was quiet and clean and safe so if you dont want to spend alot at the bigger hotels nearby, this is your place! Cute little rooftop area to lounge and watch sunset.

I booked for three nights. I unpacked thinking about rest, relaxation, and a break from life in Seattle only to be told after I made sunny Room 1 my brief home away from home to pack up and move to room 8 the next morning as if that’s what a vacation should be about.
I packed up, left, the room, and yes I was satisfied with darkroom 8 totally in the shadows of the office.
Indeed the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I have no complaints on that score, nor anything about its central location.
Ownership apologized, but something extra should have been done. For $200 a night I deserved better.

Love staying here! So many little details that made the stay wonderful: beach chairs, towels, and umbrella in each room, and the comfy deck for reading or socializing with an ocean view. Best of all, covered parking and everything within walking distance. Kim was thoughtful and helped us with a smooth check in that worked perfectly within our plans. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Very fun, funky decor! Spacious room, great price, amazing location, fantastic service!! They checked in with me the morning of my trip and made sure I was all set for my after hours arrival. Kim was super friendly and helpful!

What a lovely property! The room is very clean and tidy and exactly as pictured! Kim at the front desk is very friendly and welcoming and made the check in process quick and efficient but all with a smile!

What a nightmare. Garbage under the bed; hair in the sink; Aleve pills on the carpet; spilled cereal in the fridge; uncleaned liquid spill on night stand; broken zip tie on the pillow. OLD motel; one window; no balconies. No coffee maker in room and no breakfast. Was so freaked-out by the conditions, I left 2 days early.
To be fair, the lady to whom I complained was extremely kind and very understanding. She refunded me the 2 nights.
Went - literally - right across the street and got a beautifully clean, 2nd story room with a large balcony that faced the ocean for the exact same price.
Never again.
