When we arrived, the home and property were filthy. Our family didn’t get into their rooms for four hours after check in!! We were given incorrect codes for all the bedroom locks and the gate. During our two day stay, the master bedroom toilet broke and the main bathroom also had a broken toilet which flooded. We didn’t have time to call a plumber as we had a tight schedule and no one in the family wanted strangers in their rooms while we weren’t there. They did not let us check out the full four hours that we couldn’t get in the rooms, so that was a real pain trying to get everybody packed and out of the house. During our mad rush to get out, we had forgot all our champagne and wine. Due to the horrible weather in MIA, we ended up going to the states with the family because my wife needed emergency surgery. We came home a few days and called the property manager to get the alcohol we left. The two property managers knew we lived on island, but when we contacted them, they told us that they gave it away to the cleaning people! And then he added that it was only Barefoot Wine!! Totally loved the spaciousness of each bedroom suite. Gave all of us our own ample private space. Great room is massive and was great to gather and play games. Absolutely the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we have ever had (there have been many) every utensil, tool, dish or pan you could ask for - as well as small appliances! The pool absolutely awesome. The deck and outdoor areas massive! So very pleased with this property! No complaints just be island happy and enjoy!

this is an amazing property. This is my second stay in 3 years and the new owners have put in the time and money to really improve the property! We had great communication before and during our stay. It was better than the pictures. The rooms are very large, beds are comfortable, pool is great. Kitchen is very well appointed, and it even has a Traeger grille. the sugar mill is a nice touch. the view from the porch is one of the best on the island. water pressure in shower is weak but that is to be expected on island. Thank you for a lovely vacation and being responsive to our one little AC hiccup.

Starting with positives - the house is very large and spacious with great views. The tennis court and sugar mill were also great! However, we had a few issues that led us to only stay for one night of our planned vacation. Thankfully the owner was gracious enough to allow us to back out of our reservation and find another place. As stated in another review, there are some upkeep issues - long grass, a missing door handle that meant we couldn't lock up the main house, and we were also unable to get the TVs to work. The TVs and the grass were not a big deal to us, but at the time the AC was not working in the main house (only in the bedroom) so we were sweating trying to spend time together as a group. In addition, the light in the pool was hanging into the pool which made us feel unsure of possible electrical safety issues. So with the AC, pool, and some issues being able to lock up the house, we felt we had to move on. I'm sure the owner has resolved the AC issue by now and the TVs probably could have been figured out with more time. This will be a great rental once a few things get ironed out. Side note, we had kids age 11-13 and the layout probably wasn't the best for us either. I think for a group of adults it would be great. The main house has kitchen, living and 1 bedroom. Then walk across the pool area to 2 bedrooms that open to outside. Down the stairs from there to 2 more bedrooms and gym that open to a hallway and then down again to the apartment.

We are lucky enough to travel frequently, and it is not often I am motivated to leave a review. This property is fantastic! It begins with the excellent property manager communication. Once on site, in a place this big, there are always details. The property manager responded, almost instantly even after hours inquiries. The pictures are accurate you do have a private tennis court with paddles and balls and a beautifully restored, private sugar mill. This property is ideally located, the rooms are huge, the spaces, very clean and comfortable, best equipped kitchen I’ve ever encountered. This rates as one of our most enjoyable family vacations ever. The pool is a great size, the patio area is perfect, and you wake up every morning to, a gorgeous island sunrise. Pro tip: you may want to consider getting a private chef, because you really don’t want to leave! We had one for a fantastic three course dinner, and it was magical

Castaway Dreams Villa is a beautiful villa with GORGEOUS views. The pictures don't do it justice. Location is great!!! I loved the peace and privacy. The kitchen was fully stocked and even had a variety of seasonings. The villa is just a short drive from restaurants and The Boardwalk. The property manager was very responsive to my emails. The only problem I had with the villa is that the maintenance is somewhat lacking. One of the doors did not have a latch and we had to prop a chair against the door to keep the wind from blowing it open. A couple of the other doors did not lock. Although we were in a very safe neighborhood, I was a little worried because my bedroom was separate from the others. Also the grass around the sugar mill and tennis court was not cut. I did not contact the property manager about the doors because the previous renters had included it on a list they had left.

Spent a lovely week at this property. The kitchen is amazing and very well equipped. Property has lovely views. The management team was very attentive to any issues.

First off, the location - James provides instructions to get to the house. Use them because the property is large and if you follow google it will take you to the wrong side. It is a GREAT location, you can get to Point Udall to catch the first sunrise in the US, or motor to Christiansted for a variety of great bars and restaurants which is 10 minutes away. Several grocery stores are close. It is a very quiet area, we heard absolutely nobody from neighboring houses the whole time there. The house itself is exactly what is depicted. None of the pictures are of a shared resort kinda thing. The tennis courts, workout room etc are all part of this private house. The Sugar Mill is very cool and has an upstairs little circular room where we played family games etc. Bring a blue tooth speaker. The kitchen is very well stocked, it has the nicest knife set you will ever see in a rental. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very large. The most important part of this house is the management. In a place this large, minor things invariably happen, a loose doorknob, a wasp nest by a door. We called James and everything was immediately resolved. He has several rentals and reputation was clearly important. That is peace of mind for the renter! Definitely recommend this place and when we come back this would definitely be our place of choice.
