Fantastic location, lovely breakfast, lovely lady serving us.

Needs a bit of TLC, bit tired in bedrooms, needs a luck of paint and a deep clean, but for what we paid okay

The host wouldn’t let me in the property after I’d booked and paid. I turned up at the hotel after paying, and everything is closed. I called Michael Curry the owner, he says that I will need to book elsewhere. Now nearly a week without a refund. Fraud.

Breakfast really very good: strong coffee (which I like), free range eggs and good quality sausage and bacon. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Bedroom was warm on arrival, and very quiet at night.

We had a bit of difficulty with access at first, as there were access codes for the front door and the bedroom key: we had not checked recent messages on our phone, or we would have seen these before arrival! However, on using the phone number of the hotel, everything was explained.

The bed in the room we were in was far too soft - the mattress needs replacing immediately

Location was great as only a short walk to the centre. Hotel is opposite a car park which is very reasonably priced. Cooked breakfast was very good value and also a choice of cereal and fruit. The hotel is dated but personally I think it's part of the charm. I would stay here again.

Only a few minor things - the radiator didn't work in the bathroom. - there wasn't any signal for terrestrial Tv and had to have accounts with the various apps which I don't. The windows were single sash so could hear the traffic (to be expected in an old building).

There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. The carpet was old and worn. The room looked quite clean on the surface but would benefit from a deep clean
