Very unfriendly staff. Not accommodating! Insensitive to certain situations. We had a storm and no one even tried to calm us or gave us some reassurance that everything would be ok I had to stay one extra night because my flight was cancelled due to the storm. I wasn’t asking for a free night because I had already booked an extra night through Expedia. Expedia sent them the email but they were acting like I was trying to stay for free. They told me I would have to check out of my room, pack up all my stuff and check back in. After I found my receipt with Expedia they looked at it and decided I could stay. How could you treat a guest who was staying at your facility for 4 nights like that? As far as am concerned they don’t care much for you if you don’t speak their language because all through our conversations they were going back and fort speaking Spanish. I would never return to this resort or would I recommend anyone to go there. My girlfriend and her husband, my sister and her husband all had the same experience because it was 6 of us on this trip. I guess they would care if we return either!!!!! Oh! When I checked out that morning they didn’t even ask how was my stay. Because they couldn’t care less.

One of many Riu hotels in the area. Front staff could use some training. Restaurant staff was excellent. My family preferred the Riu Playacar.

When I got to the property no rooms was available so they had to switch me to Riu yutakun . They said we are going to upgrade you .. it was not an upgrade the room we had was old and outdated there was wafer bugs . And the bottles in the room where it poured out from was Rusted it was just nasty .. but how I booked for Riu tequila and they said there out of rooms

The hotel was hot. There was limited spaces with AC, even our room was only at 75 F (24 C) the whole time. It was hard to enjoy the food because it was so hot but the food was good and nobody got sick. It was hard to enjoy the nighttime activities because of the heat. The pool and beach activities were nice

Rui Tequila Hosted our first trip to Mexico. It will not be the last the staff at Rio tequila was amazing from Leo at the buffet Rosa Roja to Jess at the welcome counter and check in to Violeta who impeccably cleaned our room and Andres who noticed how nervous I was about our car being on time to take us to the airport and assured me that they would be there to pick us up and they were. They are so many others that made our trip such a wonderful time. Thank you Riu Tequila.

First night a/c didn’t work then waking up the next morning I had bites all over me not sure if it’s bed bugs or mosquitoes food was okay not the best not much entertainment unless u just like being in the pool area all day but other then that the stay was okay

I am not picky and typically love the riu. We went with a large group of women and it took a while to be checked in almost 2 hours over the time for some people. There was a a large group that arrived we were given the wrong keys and asked to re wait in line for a long time. We just experienced a lot of rude staff which I am not used to. It’s like we were a bother to be there, even the shuttle guy had a rude moment. Hector from the Asian restaurant was mean even though he wasn’t saying the same thing to other tables. Overall not sure I would go back here, if it wasn’t because we travel often to the other Riu’s I would not have gone back.
